We really need a full screen Tetris for the Raspberry Pi.. The Tetris apps for Linux are SERIOUSLY dated and crap.

Not necessarily, there could be some neat twists thrown in...like multiple blocks (tab to switch blocks), some special effects, special moves, combinations, puzzles.

It would take at least a few minutes to clear the first line. You're talking a half hour to an hour per game.

I didn't downvote you...for the record. I think you raise a good point overall, and it presents a challenge to game design. It's one thing to just program up a big tetris screen...it's another thing to allow for game design considerations to go with it. I'm sure the original developers spent a lot of time on the 10x20 grid decision.

I play the iPhone version of the game. It's incredibly addicting. I play the one-touch marathon mode. It shows a few "recommended" spots for the piece to go and you just choose one, or slide left or right to adjust those recommendations.

OP. If you are indeed the one that made this, take a hint from the community. It's a great wallpaper, except for the copied/reversed block stacks, which is distracting. Don't be ashamed to retry.

I would enjoy this twenty times more if both the left and right sides didn't have a mirror image. Not only is the pattern noticeable, but it creates some areas where it dissects the pieces that fell...

The free version is pretty decent, I've been letting it run all day. The pro version ($1.50) lets you customize colors and background images and stuff, though.

It's been 23 hours, and I still can't play this?

It's certainly tempting to see how quickly I can whip it up in perl gtk.

Or maybe just open a feature request bug on one of the ~16 tetris programs packaged for ubuntu (I attempted to count, that wasn't an exaggeration). Surely one of them can do arbitrary size already....
