I remember reading an interview (can't remember where) with one of the artists for The Incredibles. The artist mentioned a "white flash" that kept appearing during one of the scenes. It wasn't until they slowed down the render that they realized it was one of Elastigirl's teeth flying out of her mouth at an absurd speed.

It's not a parody, it's just fake texts from a dog. I don't feel strongly either way about it being funny or not, but the format doesn't make it less funny for me, since it's not 1. trying to seem real or 2. dependent on knowing anything about something else that it's parodying.

OK then. Remove the fact that this is a fake text message and replace with some sort of comedy sketch or TV show that includes a talking dog and it's human owner. Would I find it funny if that were the case? Yes! Can I accept that it's fake but still take these texts as funny? Yes. No one argues these are real, it's between a fucking a dog and a human for crying out loud!

The key to textsfromdog is that the writer, in my opinion, managed to create a pretty well defined character for the dog. And just by the texts. I'm following the tumblr where he posts and the more you read it the funnier it gets. But maybe it's just me because the dog reminds a lot of I dog I once owned and he was probably my best friend.
