I looked through all the ones mentioned in the Repost autoresponse looking for that one. I didn't find it. So sad.

Maybe religion was science once a upon a time and went crazy from the darkness?

Maybe religion was science once a upon a time and went crazy from the darkness?

Almost. As a "model for understanding the universe", religious cosmology was a sort of "proto-science" in which people looked around with their five senses, and having very little fundamental knowledge of the physical world, surmised that the sun must be pulled across the sky by a god in a divine chariot.

Today, we have much more than our imaginations to use to understand the universe. As soon as we started looking at the sky with telescopes we finally understood that the gods of our natural world, in fact, were not really gods at all. Some people still have trouble understanding that and letting go of the chariot.

But, but, I wanted to see DRAGONS!

Also, the original one read 'invisible' in the last panel instead of 'fuck you' and is -in my opinion- a lot better because of it, because the punchline caters ignorance/cognitive dissonance instead of arrogance.
