I had a project on narwhals not that long ago. About 1 in 500 males have double tusks. Females can get double tusks too but there was only one recorded case of it.

Yes I understand that the Narwhal is dead, I did not take this photo but it was interesting to see a double tusk. It was probably another predator or the guy is harvesting for the tusks which is a cruel thing to do. But nonetheless it is pretty awesome to see a double tusk.

The indigenous people eat narwhal because its skin contains vitamin C. As they have no other means of obtaining it, it's vital to them to eat narwhal. It was mentioned in BBC Human Planet which i happened to download.
