Doesn't seem like the snake has its heart sent on a meal. I have very limited experience with feeding snakes, but the one we have here at home doesn't muck about. Put mouse in tank. Snake perks up. Slithers a bit. Then you blink, and all that remains is twitchy mouse feet sticking out of the snake's mouth.
