I came here looking for the comment which is looking for the comment that I thought about. It's not often I find one. My life is full of little disappointments like that - I learn to deal with it. But when I find one, believe me... But let me put this in terms that might be better understood. It's like if you walked into a restaurant that you damn-well know serves pepsi, but fuck it. You want a goddamned coke. You ask for that coke. You expect the waitress to say "Sorry, we only have pepsi."

But she doesn't. Instead she just responds "Ok." You play it off, not daring to let your hopes get the better of you. You think, "They don't have coke. She was just going to ask me if I wanted a pepsi, and knowing I would cave and go for the pepsi instead, just didn't bother asking. She just didn't want to play games of courtesy that would end up the same." You go back to perusing the menu, deciding what entree would go best with your next-to-best soft-drink.

Five minutes later, as you're starting to settle on some chicken ravioli, the waitress comes back. She has your soda. You take a drink assuming it will be pepsi, but what rushes into your mouth but the more satisfying taste of coke. THAT is what victory (and having an awesome waitress) tastes like.

Note To make this post more easily relatable, replace pepsi and coke with coke and pepsi to your taste. Or Fanta vs. Slice or 7up vs sprite vs that other lime soda I can't remember or mug root beer vs barqs vs A&W or...

          Bump from former Washingtonian. Now a Coloradoan. They say the mountains out here in Colorado are taller but Rainier from sea level to 14,411. Way more impressive. Used to be the highlight of my day commuting across 520 and seeing that mountain while the sun was rising. On a clear day of course.

                Ha! That's the photograph used on the cover of one of my favorite albums - Silver Sky by The Infamous Stringdusters.

                Tears of the Earth is a great track from it if you like mellow, nostalgic bluegrass. It's a beautiful song. Fire is also a lot of fun.
