Reposted three times yet it still has "What it is about your state that makes people want to flee the Earth?"

[–]protect_ya_neck 3 points4 points ago

I know this is a repost, but I'm just gonna say something here. Fuck you op, Ohio's the shit. Not only is it the birthplace of Niel Armstrong, but it's also where the Wright brothers were born. We were destined to fly. What is it about your state constantly serves to limit your potential? We've also had seven Presidents.

And The Black Keys and The Isley Brothers.

[–]jonnyohio 2 points3 points ago

Ohio is fucking awesome.

[–]yuki1986 -1 points0 points ago

Your state is like that one kid we all knew in school. Ya know? the one our moms didn't want us to play with.

[–]The_Time_Master -2 points-1 points ago

Ohio is like a black hole.

Plus there is a hellmouth in Cleveland.

[–]sd6653 27 points28 points ago

Ohio isn't too bad. Its got cedar point.

[–]randyrules 1 point2 points ago

King's Island, too. Funny thing. I was just there.

Edit: For those interested in the scholastic side of things. We have plenty of museums, zoos, and aquariums. My personal favorite is the USAF Museum at Wright-Patt Air Force Base.

[–]violencewithin 2 points3 points ago

plus everything around the lake... a few nice wineries. boating. very relaxing and beautiful

[–]doohnam 0 points1 point ago

"I'm from Ohio, I just am, always have been, raised once or twice this beautiful state, it captures my lust in a jar made of diamond. unleashing it against my will upon my randomized victims. alas Ohio, shes buried many ladies in the darkness of a Tuesday." is what people say from Ohio

[–]monoshift96 0 points1 point ago

that's about ALL we have that's worth the time. Cedar Point and Kings Island for people who can't make it to Cedar Point. Other than that, Ohio is boring as hell.

[–]DreadandButter 8 points9 points ago

At least Ohio is a relatively nice place to grow up. I grew up in a suburb in Columbus and we rarely had any crime.

[–]ZENmotherfucker 1 point2 points ago

Dublin or UA?

[–]DreadandButter 0 points1 point ago

UA

[–]sd6653 1 point2 points ago

Ha I'm from Dublin. I will say one thing about Dublin...Roundabouts, roundabouts everywhere

[–]ZENmotherfucker -1 points0 points ago

Kobe!

[–]JobForACowboy -1 points0 points ago

I'm in Reynoldsburg. I love it here, but we have a lot of pot heads. :/

[–]seekaterun 0 points1 point ago

i feel like i can see it declining:/

[–]Sparke28 1 point2 points ago

Kalahari is pretty good too.

[–]Ch0c0l4t3Thund3r 2 points3 points ago

Don't forget about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

[–]sd6653 4 points5 points ago

Yeah, I'm from Ohio as well and you are right. Still better than Michigan ;)

[–]mattegeler -2 points-1 points ago

Nice try Ohio. We have four great lakes, three of which are clean!

[–]Smmaci22 5 points6 points ago

You shut your whore mouth! Erie is fine! Takes a gulp of water. All you have to do is occasionally spit out a tire or two and its fine!

[–]violencewithin 1 point2 points ago

I swim in it all the time and my feet only tingle a little

[–]Smmaci22 0 points1 point ago

I know right? I mean only 4 four of my fingers have mutated, it's not like its all of them!

[–]calling_the_bullshit 3 points4 points ago

three of four them are shared with Canada... now you are about to let asian carp into the great lakes and fuck them totally up... sigh

[–]TracerBullet88 -1 points0 points ago

From Michigan here, and yeah, pretty much correct. The upper peninsula has a lot of cool nature though.

And there are lakes. That has to count for something...

[–]LadyEclectic 0 points1 point ago

Also from Michigan, and no not correct at all.

[–]ErinRoss6 0 points1 point ago

i live 30 minutes away from KI, its only cool if you're in 7th grade and its the first time you are ever allowed out in public with out mommy or daddy hanging around.

[–]monoshift96 0 points1 point ago

Like I said, can't afford to go to Cedar Point, mainly because for that drive, if I wanted to actually enjoy it, I'd need a hotel room. so KI is next best thing.

[–]seekaterun 0 points1 point ago

I disagree wholeheartedly with this. I grew up living 5 minutes from KI... I had a season pass every year until I was 19. Never got old.

[–]DyingBreed5FDP 5 points6 points ago

Well, we did have this big exotic animal outbreak a little while back. Maybe that's why everyone's bugging out.

[–]rdwtoker 5 points6 points ago

what it is

[–]GabTap 5 points6 points ago

The Bengals

[–]ogicex -4 points-3 points ago

More like the Browns...

Edit: At least the Bengals made the playoffs...

[–]GhostdadUC 3 points4 points ago

That's a losing fight in this state brother

[–]Eizooz 4 points5 points ago

i live in columbus and i dont understand this. Yes rural ohio is boring as fuck and filled with the amish people. all rural areas are boring...

[–]brandiee2 4 points5 points ago

I live in Columbus as well, and I totally agree with you.

[–]are95 8 points9 points ago

They all have probably been to Akron at one time

[–]Zugzub 2 points3 points ago

We also are second in producing presidents.

[–]doctechnical 8 points9 points ago

The weather. It trains Ohioans for the rough environment of space. After negotiating our icy winter highways, putting a LEM down gently by hand, computer off, is a piece of cake.

[–]pigeonzilla 2 points3 points ago

The answer is the weather

[–]DreadandButter 2 points3 points ago

DREW CAREY SHOW GUYS. WE HAVE THE DREW CAREY SHOW.

[–]attigirb 0 points1 point ago

*had

[–]Radioheadless 0 points1 point ago

Cleveland Rocks!!

[–]DrHenryPym 2 points3 points ago

It's also the birthplace or origin of a lot of American presidents.

[–]Dyrty 2 points3 points ago

wow. again. and it's still not funny.

[–]aRoaraThunder 4 points5 points ago

Um, also being surrounded by nothing by cornfields. Says the guy who was born halfway between the first Wendy's and the world's largest basket.

[–]onbin 7 points8 points ago

Columbus is awesome.

[–]violencewithin 0 points1 point ago

Toledo fucking sucks.

[–]onbin 0 points1 point ago

Yeah... :[

[–]Decitron 6 points7 points ago

Governor Kasich

[–]IridescentBlade 3 points4 points ago

Ohio is also a place where a lot of pro-Gamers come from as well.

[–]Radioheadless 4 points5 points ago

I like living in Columbus.

[–]brandiee2 1 point2 points ago

I know, I live in Columbus too. I like it!

[–]seekaterun 1 point2 points ago

Coming from Cincinnati to Columbus... It's a whole lot better here.

[–]Bl1tzkrieg 1 point2 points ago

Living in walking distance of Lake Erie is worth it.

[–]Spineless_John 0 points1 point ago

Lake Erie is the WORST great lake. I was just there yesterday, dirty as hell.

[–]Retanaru 0 points1 point ago

The girls at my workplace said they were going out to the beach. First thing I thought of was the black slime the covers 90% of the beaches around the Cedar Point region.

[–]dmirkin 1 point2 points ago

[–]zane17 1 point2 points ago

Hey at least we invented the airplane! ooooohhhh...

:c

[–]nigh70wl 1 point2 points ago

fuck you, reposter

[–]tweak4ever 1 point2 points ago

Because its the fucking birthplace of goddamn aviation, thats why...I love Ohio...o-o

[–]whussupbrah 1 point2 points ago

Birthplace of aviation, BITCHEEEES

[–]YearLater[S] 4 points5 points ago

"When the end of the world comes, I want to be in Cincinnati because it's always twenty years behind the times." -Mark Twain As a current Cincinnatian I can attest to this. The same holds true for a lot of Ohio.

[–]ErinRoss6 2 points3 points ago

nooooo way, from cincinnati. its complete shit. we don't even have any good sports teams.

[–]ModernTenshi04 3 points4 points ago

So wait, it's 1992 in Cincinatti?

Why the fuck am I not there right this very minute?

[–]GeneralEchidna 3 points4 points ago

I just upgraded my pc to 1gb ram. You do not want to live here.

[–]violencewithin 2 points3 points ago

but gas was only a buck a gallon

[–]GeneralEchidna 0 points1 point ago

The sad reality now is that gas is $3.50 and Windows 95 is prevalent.

[–]seekaterun 1 point2 points ago

I bet they still play good cartoons like Doug and Ahh! Real Monsters

[–]KodyxDestroyer 6 points7 points ago

Okay so this is already a re-post, was going to let that go. But, you also copy and past word for word the top comment of one of those re-posts. Does no one around here have any originality at all any more?

[–]TheKneeOfTheArrow 0 points1 point ago

Read his username.

[–]ZENmotherfucker 3 points4 points ago

I wish someone would re-route the Ohio River so Cincy would be in Kentucky where they belong.

[–]violencewithin 0 points1 point ago

Toledo?

[–]ienjoymen 0 points1 point ago

w00t for Ohio!!

[–]locohygynx 1 point2 points ago

what it is...

[–]JesusfromNebraska 1 point2 points ago

This is directly stolen from Steven Colbert's 'better know a district' series. At least give credit him credit. Jerk.

[–]lcynicl 1 point2 points ago

Sherrod Brown and Dennis Kucinich

[–]arpeggi4 1 point2 points ago

i just moved here and i already understand the feeling..

[–]Fvel 1 point2 points ago

Same, but since I just moved from a desert, I think it is really pretty here.

[–]Thameus 0 points1 point ago

[–]Genasai 0 points1 point ago

What it is man. What it is.

[–]MagnusTheGreat 0 points1 point ago

They all thought they were James Tiberius Kirk?

[–]ErinRoss6 0 points1 point ago

only good thing ohio has is that in the cincinnati area we have skyline chili. YUMMM.

[–]Radioheadless 0 points1 point ago

skyline is not just in cincy

[–]ErinRoss6 0 points1 point ago

its within like an hour drive radius for the most part.

[–]aclockworkoranje 0 points1 point ago

And they all took this from Stephen Colbert...

[–]Strechless50 0 points1 point ago

Neil Armstrong stayed! hes roughly 2 miles away from me. also, we have the movie gummo....maybe gummo was a bad defense for Ohio.

[–]DisposablTeens 0 points1 point ago

I've lived in Ohio my whole life, I fucking hate it here.

[–]claudesoph 0 points1 point ago

C-Town holla!

[–]Olukon 0 points1 point ago

Besides the weather and the traffic cones, there's not a damn thing to do here (Cincinnati).

[–]Actius 3 points4 points ago

Aww, there's plenty to do in Cincy! The parks here are pretty nice and awesome hiking/camping spots are within like an hours drive away. All the museums and art centers are pretty cool too. There are little local markets in a bunch of the older neighborhoods, and quite a few old timey stores as well.

I mean, it's no New York or Chicago, but it's got it's own little charm.

[–]Retanaru 0 points1 point ago

What is it about Ohio that let 24 people live up to their childhood dreams.

[–]mtn_dewgamefuel 0 points1 point ago

Well let's see, it was 48 degrees and raining on Wednesday, and today it got up to 90. That answer your question?

[–]White_Walls -1 points0 points ago

Repost many times over ಠ_ಠ

[–]RNRSaturday -1 points0 points ago

When I lived there, I used to think, "If there is a bright center of the universe, then I'm in the state that it is farthest from."

[–]TalkingBackAgain -1 points0 points ago

Indian baseball?

[–]lurebat -1 points0 points ago

Maybe they are just afraid of oxygen, or trying to impress their high school's prom king.

[–]bellagirl_324 -1 points0 points ago

God Damn Jersey Shore.

[–]depaulbluedemon -1 points0 points ago

Stephen?

[–]candyman82 -1 points0 points ago

Cleveland

[–]question_all_the_thi -1 points0 points ago

When I was a kid I read some kid's books which had an astronaut named "Mike Mars", he was from Ohio.

Perhaps many Ohio boys read those books and felt inspired.

[–]theonomatopoeia -1 points0 points ago

So many reposts...

[–]Serenn -1 points0 points ago

It should say "What about your state makes people so awesome"

[–]daStronksie -2 points-1 points ago

repost... get a life

[–]squeeeeenis[!] -2 points-1 points ago

because this is what the night sky looks like their http://www.nps.gov/dena/planyourvisit/images/night-sky-wonder-lake.jpg.

[–]DarthDirkus -2 points-1 points ago

I'm moving to Ohio within the next month... Should I be worried?
