Long story short, I used to work in the security department for a major retailer, and we caught a guy on camera, giving zero of the fucks about being subtle, staring right up a woman's sundress...

On further video review, (after we grabbed him) we realized that he had done the same thing about 4 times (to the same poor woman) before we saw it.

Sufficed to say, I believe that our charges, coupled with the woman's charges, against him put him on the state sex offender registry.

well, several years back, this store had merchandise, especially in CD/VHS (yes, that old)/DVD sections, as low as 18 or so inches from the ground...

that being said, in order for an adult man to see "those items" he'd have to get down on his knees or haunches....

sufficed to say, from there, it's pretty easy... esp if said sundress runs to just above the knees of a 5'6" woman...

when I hear or see the term, "app" I assume it had to do with iMac, iPod, or iPad,(seeing how as far as I can see, they coined the phrase) being short for "application", and, apple keeps on going with new versions of old products, I assume that "iBlank" is any product prefaced by the now all too common "i[insert capitalized word here]" (IE: the future iCar, iToilet, iWife etc)

well, it is a blatant violation of the woman's right to reasonable expectation of privacy in a public place ... and it is an offence of a sexual nature, so if he did get status as a sex offender (low level even) b/c of it, then he got what's coming.

I did a bit of work experience at a law firm once and one of the cases that I was helping with was our client had been taking pictures up ladies skirts.

He'd done it by sitting down at the same table as them, engaging them in conversation while he held his camera under the table taking the photos.

The person wearing the dress may not even know this happened. To me, assault means molestion, fondling, rape, and things of that nature. To throw having your photo taken into that category is offensive to victims of actual assault, in my opinion.

The point is it doesn't matter what assault means to YOU. I'll only say it one more time: It is incredibly offensive to try and deny or erase the experience of assault that someone else has had simply because it's not "as bad" as being raped.

By recognizing any unwanted sexual contact as sexual assault, you're not belittling those who have been raped or molested, you're just including everyone who has been assaulted to whatever degree.

Defining assault should be a contest to see what was sexually assaulted the worse. You don't get a gold medal for being raped and a bronze for having someone take sexual photos against your will. They are all victims and should all be treated as such.

You can't just throw all inappropriate conduct into sexual assault. If someone grabs my butt at the bar, is that sexual assault? That's more contact than occurred here. What if they grab my crotch?
