I get what you mean by saying, "It doesn't require any real musical talent". Computer software makes it very simple to create music. If you have even the most basic music software (GarageBand, for instance) you can take a recording of any instrument and flex the audio to match the tempo, thus removing the emphasis to hone your timing skills with whatever instrument you may have recorded.

However, creating good music on a computer is something that requires musical experience / talent. To create music, you need to know about tempo, time signature, harmonics, and the like. Once you understand that, you need to be able to blend your sounds together to create something that sounds nice. Too much in the highs, lows, mids, or whatever can kill a song. You have to know how to create something genuinely interesting that'll keep the interests of your audience.

With electronic music (House, Dubstep, Drum & Bass), getting your synths to sound good can take an absurd amount of time. If you don't spend enough time working on your sounds, it'll all sound lame, like some sort of cheesy midi file. There's also the numerous effects that can make or break a song (ducking, compression, filtering, delay, reverb, etc.) On top of that, mastering your song takes skill too, or at least time.

So, in essence, creating music on the computer doesn't take as much traditional musical skill, but it is certainly not something talentless. I suppose it's somewhat similar to the contrast between performing in a play and creating an animation. One is live and demands a live set of skills, and the other is more of an automation requiring a different set of skills.

Also, as somewhat of a side note, it always bothers me when I hear people say that "A MacBook is not a musical instrument". If it is an instrument, a tool, that can be used to create music, it is a musical instrument.
