  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  6. No animated images. Please submit them to /r/gif, /r/gifs, or /r/reactiongifs instead.

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

It's faster to just grab another body. Also, if you're switching back and forth, you don't want to have to swap lenses over and over.

There's also a lot less risk in terms of damaging sensors when you just have to swap bodies and not a lens... sometimes I'll carry 1 camera with extension tubes and a reversed 50mm f/1.7 and 1 camera with a decent 18-300mm on it. One for macro shots and 1 for everything else.

Though all my camera gear combined with my father's probably cost less new compared to a single on of his lenses used.

Not quite. He's got 3 very expensive lenses: two $7000 lenses (the Nikon 200-400mm and Canon 500mm) and a Canon 200mm f/2 (about $6000), but the other 3 lenses look to be in the $2000-3000 (each) range. None of the 6 bodies looks like anything that retails for over $5000 and two of the Canon bodies clearly have no integrated grip, so they're 5D-series or lower-end.

It's nearer to $50-60k (U.S. current retail price) in equipment.

7K is not much for a lens. Cinema lenses cost way more, up to $30,000 for a single prime lens and up to $100,000 for a single zoom.

The Nikon has got 7 pounds of optical glass, electronics, and other components (the Canon ones will be comparable), the big elements are nearly 5 inches in diameter. Some of the components are fiddly to make with long production times and there's no shortage of demand for those super-telephoto lenses.

It look as though all of the gear is in pristine condition. Brand new out of the box. More appropriate title would be "posing for pics is serious business".
