Correct response. Recluses only bite when threatened or compressed. Otherwise all they want to do is hide and eat bugs. Only reason I kill them is so I don't end up with a surprise visitor in my laundry later that won't appreciate being grabbed and crushed.

Ironically it is a trapdoor spider. So if you had fears that this was a wolf spider was going to devour your toe next time you step outside I can assure you it is not a wolf spider.
