  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

Misleading photo lead me to believe this was a huge sink hole of igneous rock somewhere on the Oregon coast. Turns out its only about 3 meters in diameter. Oh.

Yes perspective matters, but it's more than that. The way the water is flowing and the size of the rocks on the falls make it look giant. Honestly the water looks edited to me, but I can't really tell from the pixels and I haven't seen a lot of shops in my day.

Its a long exposure shot (I'd say 2-5 seconds) which makes the water look like that.

Though I wound up going there anyway, a recruiting video for a university near my hometown used a similar technique. An unremarkable river flows alongside the city that is home to that campus. Some ambitious videographer managed to mount a camera right at the waters edge, so that the tiny ripples from passing boats looked like substantial surf, a shore of pebbles instead appearing as a rocky beach. The imagery was appealing on its face, but us locals laughed loudly at that part of the video because we knew it depicted an entirely ordinary river where nobody less than wildly drunk would even consider swimming.
