It would appear that a NC State Trooper is pulling over a Krispy Kreme Donut truck, more than likely going to deliver some freshly made donuts to some stores. OP is making the joke that all cops like donuts and had to pull this truck over to get some now.

*EDIT: I live in SC, but I know what the NC state trooper cars look like.

There's a Krispy Kreme place in downtown Raleigh, NC that is amazing. From the lobby you can look through a big glass window and see the little 'donut factory' packed in there. One of the best field trips as a child was going there. The waterfall of glaze, the frying of the dough, the staff hand-packing boxes of perfect donuts and loading them into the back of the truck...

I pass the Krispy Kreme on the corner of Peace and Person in DT Raleigh on my way to work every morning. Don't think that one has a glass window from the lobby though. But the glaze waterfall is definitely the best part... mmmm......

The chocolate cake donuts from here, Hot Now off the conveyor belt. OMG. It was like eating liquid chocolate cake. They were so warm and fresh, the saturated fat in them was not solid. I wish they had some way to tell you what donuts were on the belt when. Like a Krispy Kreme ap. I mean, the regular glazed ones are good, but dear god, this was the best thing I had ever eaten.

Not sure why you were downvoted. Voodoo Doughnuts is well-known as one of the best donut places in the world, which is why it is often featured on TV shows on the Food Network and in magazines. I like Krispy Kreme donuts, but they can't compete against a boutique.

At least I know what it means now. My worst case of getting the meaning of a word wrong was when I thought bullshit could be used instead of shitty and my hash dealer was stuck in traffic, called me up to say he was in traffic, i said it was bullshit, he got angry and hung up phone and went home.

In American, there's a stereotype that police like donuts, because police used to wait for calls while on break at donut shops. (This was before starbucks was around, so they were likely just trying to find a good cup of coffee).

Note this was before everyone was obese in America, and the cops usually weren't that fat, it just was a stupid stereotype that has lasted forever.

I take it you're not in the US? Ford basically canceled the Crown Vic, which was the standard police car platform. Now everyone is going to Dodge Chargers and Chevy Impalas, with the occasional random other model thrown in for variety.

These are NC state troopers, I'm pretty sure that the Charger is the base model. They also have Camaros, Impalas and Suburbans in the lineup from time to time. Our local cops are still on Crown Vics, Explorers and only the occasional Charger.

Ha! They aren't likely to get the turbo anything as it is fragile and cost too much to keep running. The police model has a dash that allows police equipment to be mounted easier and the rear doors open 15 degrees further for ease of prisoner entry and exit. it will likely be just the regular engine with maybe a different computer setting.

Yes, and no. Governmental agencies have all sorts of restrictions on where they can procure equipment from. I've had to send my firetruck a county over to get it repaired, even though there was a fully certified and experienced mechanic in town. It's extremely stupid, but it's an aspect of the "CUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING NAO!!!!!1!!" crowd. These are the same people who demanded that all state-owned vehicles here in Oregon not have stereos, even though that was more expensive, because it LOOKED like it cut spending.

My point is that, for law enforcement, those parts may be abundant but not ACCESSABLE.

But I know that there will still be companies cranking out aftermarkets. How many Crown Vics/Grand Marquis are on the road? There will be a demand for them for a long, long time.

The Impalas are the worst police cars ever. The substandard charging system can't handle the electronics, and they are not made to handle the rigors of law enforcement. I'm interested to see how the new Caprice holds up.

You can't tell how bad it is from this picture, but the difference in the new decal on the side versus the older charger model is horrendous. The new one looks like it was put on by someone with crossed eyes and one leg shorter than the other. It has a terrible slant from the rear to the front. It just doesn't look as good as their older chargers did.

When one opened in my area, there were crazy lines of people waiting outside with helicopters filming footage from above.
