Just traveled for a week with a friend and his family (and their friends.) I had never heard yolo before then, and now I'm fairly certain I've heard it enough for a lifetime. The part I found head-slapping was their fear and reluctance to try new foods, new experiences, etc.

I hear that all the time, and I'm hardly anywhere but the river and my boyfriend's house. But whenever I'm at work, or if I go to the mall or Walmart, I hear "yolo" as much as I hear the word "the" and "I". Aside from Reddit, I have only experienced YOLO at the Luxor pool in Vegas. Some dude had it tattooed on his shoulder blade.

One of the guys from my group knew what it stood for, and let us know it's code for "they're down for anal".

Remembering it, the guy with the tattoo had a bunch of horrible, unorganized tattoos that made me think that he got them all while intoxicated.
