I remember thinking about it when I was a little 10 year old in catholic school. The more I thought, the more I realized; ok so Jesus apparently died on a cross but got resurrected a few days later. I guess that's a fairly big sacrifice. But Satan, it was his "fault" that humanity took an apple of the tree of knowledge. Essentially, he offered us free will, and it was our "sin" that we took it. Satan literally gave up his position as God's favourite angel, to give us, god's little worship-machines, sentience... and then he was condemned to hell forever to watch over every person who abused the gift he sacrificed his purpose for. He gave us free will, the ability to choose (which ultimately would make worshipping god even more powerful right?) and the ability to comprehend god's wonders. Jesus died, and then got resurrected 3 days later. Like, holy shit. The comparison isn't even there, you know? That blew my mind.
