I always get a physical copy of eveything I buy. But maybe it's because I'm old.

Same, I don't understand people that only ever get digital copy's, I prefer seeing my beautiful shelf of games.

It's something nostalgic about seeing the cases all lined up on a shelf. Nobody ever said "hey dude, can I take a look at your digital collection?"

Cool story, where's my copy? Oh, right stuck on a server somewhere (and yet to be purchased).

Some people like having a physical copy, especially with the Collectors Edition. They might just prefer having the actual box and the ability to look at the art, and hold it in their hands. It's not a strange thing, just like people who like physically having a book to read instead of downloading a PDF of it.

diablo 3 digital download : 59.99€

physical copy from the store down the street : 49.99€

physical copy sent from england to belgium : 44.99€

why in gods name would i want a digital copy?

and call me crazy but just having my name in a database somewhere does not make me feel like i bought anything. i will consider digital download when the price is reasonable i.e: much LESS then a physical copy
