hey, I have relevant information! this is not characteristic of all avians-- it's crows! and they're not assholes, they're just bored because they are too smart for their own good. they have excess time and brainpower, and nothing to do with it, so they make up games as complex as our own and play endlessly.

This happened to me once. San Francisco zoo. I was eating a hot dog at the cafe when some asshole seagull flapped up to me and ripped it out of my hands. Needless to say, I was utterly flabbergasted that such a thing could happen and made no effort to stop it.
