I am female. Would it matter if I were gay? Such an odd statement by you, really. I call him my SO, because we have been together for almost 14 years. We're a bit beyond the boyfriend/girlfriend stage. And no, I don't believe it marriage. That was my choice. One does not need paperwork declaring them married in this day and age. Commitments can be made.
