What about when he fathered a mouse?

[–]Chimtash 9 points10 points ago

Holy cow!!

[–]Merczab -1 points0 points ago

I literally LOLed. hahaha

[–]IMasturbateToMyself 69 points70 points ago

Oh... my... god... I never noticed.

[–]TheySmokedMid 8 points9 points ago

[–]Lazy_Duck 16 points17 points ago

I'm pretty sure Mr Weasley was one of Lister's friends from Red Dwarf as well.

[–]sizzler 8 points9 points ago

You are right, It's Mark Williams, known in show as Olaf Petterson Series 1. I hadn't noticed myself, (not massive harry potter fan though)

[–]Rafe 2 points3 points ago

Also returned in Series 2 for "Stasis Leak." He likes beautiful ladies and is very good in bed.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

He was also in the Borrowers or some movie like that.

[–]unexceptional 13 points14 points ago

HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

[–]onesnowball 2 points3 points ago

I never knew this existed. I love P. G. Wodehouse's work!

[–]makoivis 6 points7 points ago

Boy are you in for a treat. It's quite frankly the wittiest television I have ever sen in my life.

[–]onesnowball 2 points3 points ago*

Well, P. G. Wodehouse is just about the wittiest man I have read (Terry Pratchett is good, too). And I know the British can do a good book adaptation (source: BBC's six-part Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy).

EDIT: Forgot to mention Douglas Adams, but he goes without saying. DNA was also a big fan of Wodehouse.

[–]FuzzyAssKetchup 4 points5 points ago

It's a really well done show, definitely check it out.

[–]weasleeasle 2 points3 points ago

My only disappointment is the extended cast was changed a bit between series. You don't really notice watching over a long period, but all in quick succession and it is odd to see the characters recast.

[–]makoivis 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, Gussie Fink-Nottle in particular was a bit jarring. You quickly get used to it though.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

That's... That's a nice username you have there...

[–]onesnowball 0 points1 point ago

Oh, I definitely will.

[–]BeatlesForSale 3 points4 points ago

It's a bloody good series. You can buy the boxset on amazon quite cheap. The one problem is the cast changes quite a bit. Most of the main characters stay the same though.

[–]onesnowball 0 points1 point ago

Looks like it's on YouTube. :)

[–]BeatlesForSale 1 point2 points ago

The quality isn't great. I seriously recommend buying the boxset. It's certainly worth it.

Inb4 "nice try ITV employee"

[–]onesnowball 2 points3 points ago

Haha, I wasn't going to say that. But for all intents and purposes I find it easier to watch it online, and if I don't have to pay... I'm sold!

I don't need even more DVDs/boxes on my shelves, it just creates clutter and I end up getting rid of a lot of it because I move or something.

However, once I'm aged, tired and ready to settle to one place for the rest of my life I might build up a collection of movies and shows for future generations of my family. But then again, by that time we will have petabyte hard drives and DVDs/Blu-rays won't even be made any more.

[–]BeatlesForSale 1 point2 points ago

Fair enough, each to their own! Have fun watching it! I know I did haha.

[–]onesnowball 1 point2 points ago

I like Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry. And I like Wodehouse. I think something must be terribly wrong with the show if I don't end up loving it.

[–]Saivo 10 points11 points ago

"This time, it is lupus. Canis lupus familiaris."

[–]big_bad_mojo 4 points5 points ago

Well... They really just stole 99.

[–]daetd 8 points9 points ago

Was a bitch one of them?

[–]fargin_bastiges 6 points7 points ago

Many of them, yes.

[–]themythicalpelican 25 points26 points ago

This is from The Department sketch from A Bit of Fry and Laurie.

[–]themythicalpelican 9 points10 points ago

And here's a follow-up sketch.

[–]vegetaman 0 points1 point ago

I think what drives me nuts is that the hammer on the 1911 is already back when he racks the slide... </nitpick>

[–]socraincha 23 points24 points ago

It's a British show.

We don't understand how guns work.

[–]robe6107 5 points6 points ago

Also, it is not a 1911.

[–]bearsa113609 3 points4 points ago

That is not a 1911.

[–]Rpbailey 32 points33 points ago

Hugh would make a great Lupin the Third

[–]Ryo95 44 points45 points ago

Which doctor? Will he be 12?

[–]Arcon1337 79 points80 points ago

[–]Cygs 47 points48 points ago

MFW you Americans call wobbly flip shutters "doors".

[–]VikingBoatTruckBoat 7 points8 points ago

Peepee friction pleasure...

[–]Mad_Dogg_Pezza 1 point2 points ago

Forcey fun time ;D

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points ago

I love this.

[–]Captain_Mustard 18 points19 points ago

MFW Americans call a timey-wimey blimey-blue box a TARDIS

[–]daielquon 6 points7 points ago

Alright, that's enough.

salutes Union Jack ಠ_ಠ

[–]mlkelty 9 points10 points ago

Are you at sea? It's only the Union Jack when flown on a ship. It's the Union Flag!

[–]trsn 7 points8 points ago

Aye, that it be.

[–]daielquon 5 points6 points ago

Actually, it's an academic issue. Union Jack is the popular usage, I think.

[–]Adonej 3 points4 points ago

Silly rose. You can't be posting here. You're not even in the right dimension.

[–]AnotherBoredAHole 0 points1 point ago

Or she is in the right dimension and the Doctor isn't in ours.

[–]Adonej 0 points1 point ago

That would be depressing... well, at least we still have the Time Crisis Doctor.

[–]Jerlko 1 point2 points ago

MFW Americans call a rooty-tooty point-and-shooty a gun.

[–]imabadkitty 1 point2 points ago

Sir, I think that's redneck..

[–]xTELOx 0 points1 point ago

Blackadder.

[–]A_Cylon_Raider 6 points7 points ago

But he's dressed like 9!

[–]The_Doctor_00 2 points3 points ago

Spoilers...

[–]MikeNeil91 8 points9 points ago

Hugh Laurie was definitely best in Blackadder.

[–]SirSquatsalot 11 points12 points ago

It's not Lupin!

[–]RageMorePlz 5 points6 points ago

Fuck this. I'll just become a diagnostician.

[–]DrHeckley 7 points8 points ago

"Wh-what? Oh. Looks like Lupus."

[–]wasteland_warrior 14 points15 points ago

More like Lupin

[–]40kfreak 1 point2 points ago

It's like you time travelled from 2006

[–]itzloud 1 point2 points ago

Everyone knows its sarcoidosis.

[–]ahuiz22 2 points3 points ago

And then he was diary littles dad

[–]TeCuervo 2 points3 points ago

Dr. George House to YOU sir!

[–]54MProductions 2 points3 points ago

He was the prince of Wales first!

[–]BloodyNobody 1 point2 points ago

Actually, he was in the last episode of Blackadder II. He's trying to take the throne and uses the word "inconwenience."

[–]Stair_Car 2 points3 points ago*

Man, I remember Burty Wooster differently...

[–]TheDroopy 0 points1 point ago

Well hurrah and huzzah, Jeeves.

[–]TheDoctor2332 1 point2 points ago

[–]yunlien 14 points15 points ago

[–]The_Doctor_00 3 points4 points ago

[–]BeatlesForSale 4 points5 points ago

That's just the Gold tv logo.

[–]TheDroopy 0 points1 point ago

I'm sorry but you're completely wrong.

Series 3, Episode 1- The Department

[–]Suyi 1 point2 points ago

oh god... i laughed so hard!!! :D

[–]ahuiz22 1 point2 points ago

And then he was Stuart Little's dad

[–]SirFireHydrant 1 point2 points ago

I wish he would become THE Doctor.

[–]easyeight 1 point2 points ago

[–]FrisianDude 9 points10 points ago

ffs why is every mention of Hugh Laurie also a mention of House? When you watch the Fellowship of the Ring do you go 'hurr hurr Ned Stark' ? No.

[–]BsFan 21 points22 points ago

Nope. I go hur hur it's 006.

[–]dnicholsonb 1 point2 points ago

Shaaaaaaaarpe

[–]black19 16 points17 points ago

No. But when I watch game of thrones I always wonder why Boromir is there.

[–]Nemokles 3 points4 points ago

That's where the people of Middle Earth go after they die.

[–]lesser_panjandrum 7 points8 points ago

No, even when he touched the shards of Narsil he was still Sharpe.

[–]FrisianDude 3 points4 points ago

So was Narsil. :P

[–]ScotchNotch 1 point2 points ago

...The internet has ruined me.

[–]CommunistAccounts 6 points7 points ago

Maybe it was a reference to fortysomething, where he also plays a doctor but much earlier.

[–]chainofcommand02 0 points1 point ago

fortysomething is excellent!

[–]DC_Gooner 2 points3 points ago

Your rage is palpable. I mean that in a good way.

[–]Tranchera 2 points3 points ago

I haven't watched Fellowship in ages, so at this point I probably would.

[–]BeatlesForSale 7 points8 points ago

Because everyone in America only know him as Dr House and seem to think he's never done any other role ever.

[–]secretvictory 2 points3 points ago

it is a popular series. the role made him one of the highest paid actors on television. 1

besides that, house has ran for 175 over the course of 8 solid years, a bit of fry and laurie ran for 26 episodes total. house also was recently happening, a bit of fry and laurie ran from 88-95 but only had 4 seasons. to say nothing of the fact that this is an american website and house is an american show.

a lot of people have defining works. dali's surrealist paintings are more popular than his architecture and novel. stephen king is known, primarily, as a writer but his musicianship rarely gets mentioned. no one ever talks about john lennon's two books.

laurie is a charting musician. 2 but he is famous for house. it is what it is.

[–]FrisianDude 1 point2 points ago

Of course, entirely true, but that doesn't mean that every mention of Laurie should turn into a mention of House.

[–]Lynx7 1 point2 points ago

Because House has been the major focus of his career over the last eight years?

And everyone in America only know him from House.

[–]Jazradel 0 points1 point ago

No, but when you watch anything else with Elijah Wood, Sean Bean, Ian McKellen or Orlando Bloom you wonder what Frodo, Boromir, Gandalf or Legolas are doing.

[–]StrangeAeons 1 point2 points ago

[–]steamboatdavey 1 point2 points ago

he kind of looks like Lupin the Third

[–]say_no_to_butt_floss 0 points1 point ago

No wonder he became a drug addict, after sporting that hair style.

[–]paul3720 0 points1 point ago

One of my favorites and awfully appropriate given recent cough Tennessee cough legislation.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwo8qxUit00

[–]alahos 0 points1 point ago

It would've been even better if he'd just kept going.

[–]rumnscurvy 0 points1 point ago

You mean, became the Prince Regent of the United Kingdom.

[–]iFuckedYourFather 0 points1 point ago

whereas before he was a monkey with sideburns

[–]Way_too_poor 0 points1 point ago

Thankfully it doesn't really make sense for an eccentric doctor to have those sideburns.

[–]RC-8015 0 points1 point ago

Just so everyone knows, this could happen in real life. All he would have to do is forget the slide stop on the pistol, which is the last step of the assembly.

Granted, the slide would have fallen off as soon as he pointed it downward, but it is possible.

[–]willpump4gas 0 points1 point ago

I swear house is a movie ninja I never noticed he was in any of these movies

[–]geosh 0 points1 point ago

At least he's got trigger discipline.

[–]AceVenturas 0 points1 point ago

Wow. I never noticed house looks like Roger from American dad.

[–]Lamar_Scrodum 0 points1 point ago

Reminds me of my first time using a condom

[–]Oflendoodle 0 points1 point ago

One Pump Chump

[–]HEELLLPPPppp 0 points1 point ago

House... Road House...

[–]EdocKrow -1 points0 points ago

I love that movie.

[–]sonty_the_gnome -3 points-2 points ago

Happens a lot to my penis.

[–]AverageToTheMax -4 points-3 points ago

Why the fuck is Liam Gallagher re-enacting a scene from Johnny English?
