It's called Lymphedema. A close friend of mine suffers from this. It hurts. Her right thigh weighs over 100lbs. She's lost over 100lbs in body fat so far through diet and exercise, but the fluid distending her leg still hasn't begun to disperse.

It's difficult for her to just get from room to room. It throws off her balance, and makes exercise to lose fat very hard to accomplish. It's fluid in the tissues that can't cycle out, it makes the flesh around it rigid. The fluid can't be drained because there isn't one big pocket of lymph, but it saturates the muscle tissue, like water in a bog.

Really? I'm from Brazil, we have a similar disease, Filariasis, and junior high school textbook has worst pictures to scare us off. Remember that episode of South park where they get testicular cancer to be get medicinal marijuana?
