[–]LotteDaw 158 points159 points ago

The best part is his cubicle has no entrance or exit.

[–]dduploads2 181 points182 points ago

I see your point but then - he's a goddamn fish.

[–]mr_tw 43 points44 points ago

He swims over that shit

[–]taiwanboy707 31 points32 points ago

As dduploads had implied.

[–]Pravusmentis 19 points20 points ago

Then they light fires underwater

[–]TheVetrinarian 16 points17 points ago

and go to the beach

[–]buttbutts 1 point2 points ago

the fire doesn't make sense, the beach is sort of explained by the fact that it's not water, but some sort of goo that's apparently heavier than water.

[–]ForzaOne 0 points1 point ago

IT'S A CARTOON

[–]buttbutts 2 points3 points ago

Calm down buddy, I was just pointing out that the beach part makes sense because TheVetrinarian seemed to think it didn't. I really don't care about any scientific inaccuracies in a show about a talking sponge.

[–]EminGH 0 points1 point ago

Studies at BSFU showed that there is in fact a talking sponge living in a pineapple next to a squid in the Pacific Ocean.

[–]MusicNotesAndOctopie 0 points1 point ago

Keep in mind, sponge bob starts choking and runs to his sink and gets a glass of water.

[–]HighSorcerer 28 points29 points ago

His car-boat doesn't have any doors, either.

[–]arnmsctt 13 points14 points ago

Why are they using boats on the floor of the ocean?

[–]Real-Life-Reddit 43 points44 points ago

Because spongebob.

[–]arnmsctt 15 points16 points ago

Can't argue with that.

[–]DarqWolff 3 points4 points ago

*boat-mobile

[–]SonOfSatan 23 points24 points ago

Shit's profound.

[–]your_penis 8 points9 points ago

Pee's on the ground.

[–]theElegantWorm 0 points1 point ago

while making the rounds

[–]IrrigatedPancake 0 points1 point ago

The fuck is wrong with you?

[–]--Rosewater-- 7 points8 points ago

False! Each cubicle has a pole to climb out.

[–]whathappenedwas 9 points10 points ago

I thought this too, but earlier posters got me to thinking - he is a fish, so he could swim out, in theory - but in Spongebob, the fish walk, right? So it's got to be the pole. Or an existential critique of contemporary society.

[–]deshki 4 points5 points ago

Abandon hope all ye who enter here; this is not an exit.

[–]MustGoOutside 1 point2 points ago

It's poetic

[–]MagicMocha 0 points1 point ago

The only fun thing he gets to do is jump from cubicle wall to cubicle wall in order to enter and exit every day. Let him have it.

[–]Jotappa 0 points1 point ago

No, the best part is when he parties on the seventh day.

[–]Mr_1990s 27 points28 points ago

You have a boat for a car. That's pretty sweet.

[–]DarqWolff 5 points6 points ago

Guys seriously they're called "boat-mobiles" get it right

[–]Mr_1990s 2 points3 points ago

My bad.

[–]ooyat 94 points95 points ago

At least you have a job.

[–]JFMechdude 57 points58 points ago

1) Get off internet

2) Try to find employment

[–]TheAmazingAaron 105 points106 points ago

3) Get back on internet.

4) Complain about job.

[–]theblitheringidiot 30 points31 points ago

5) Employer checks your facebook.

6) Fired.

[–]HookDragger 24 points25 points ago

7) complain about getting fired for bullshit

8) Return to step 1

[–]Chxnce 26 points27 points ago

9) Be a zebra.

[–]Mr_Magpie 7 points8 points ago

THE CIRCLE OF LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE!

[–]ooyat 18 points19 points ago

Interviewing next week.

[–]BoredValet 11 points12 points ago

Good luck bro!

[–]clothes_are_optional 1 point2 points ago

if you fuck up, it'll send you in a downward spiral of failure until you can momentarily regain your momentum and perhaps have another shot at a decent interview. you'll be wandering the streets all cold and lonely wondering where you went wrong with that first interview and how it started this domino effect. also your family is counting on you.

no pressure. good luck

[–]Durpulous 12 points13 points ago

Holy shit, you just solved unemployment! When will you be receiving your Nobel Prize?

[–]danny_ 3 points4 points ago

Cannot stress 1) enough. The internet has an amazing power to strip away all motivation for days/weeks/months.

[–]JFMechdude 1 point2 points ago

Yes, let's not try, and instead constantly bitch and feel sorry for ourselves.

[–]n1c0_ds 0 points1 point ago

That's the best available option!

[–]zuperxtreme 25 points26 points ago

Hey, at least you're not Mr. Matsubayashi.

[–]Dazza3500 3 points4 points ago

that was hilarious and made me feel better

are there any others similar?

[–]zuperxtreme 3 points4 points ago

Not that I know of, sorry. :/

[–]anothertake 76 points77 points ago

I like this one better

[–]ZOMBIE_POTATO_SALAD 40 points41 points ago

[–]Flash_Johnson 6 points7 points ago

i fucking love internet

[–]cybermind 13 points14 points ago

It's like I'm watching a video of myself walking down the street

[–]manwhowasnthere 3 points4 points ago

I... I can't even look at that anymore, my sides hurt

[–]zdarlight 9 points10 points ago

[–]RyzeBake 1 point2 points ago

Whatever that song is, it's amazing

[–]zdarlight 1 point2 points ago

As discovered in recent Ford Commercials

[–]luvmyfuckbuddy 1 point2 points ago

thanx for this discovery. I will be listening to kidstreet for the next week

[–]DanielClamentine 0 points1 point ago

I watched a few minutes. Powerful emotions were evoked. 10/10 would watch again.

[–]TheTacosAreWatching 7 points8 points ago

I like that one better as well. When I saw the episode originally, because you know my kids watch it of course....uhh yeah the kids, I just happened to be in the same room; I freaking lost it at the truth of that scene. It started out as laughing but soon dissolved into weeping as I realized it was me in that fish's dead lifeless eyes.

[–]thepastIdwell 0 points1 point ago

Do you, or anyone else, know what episode that was? I'd love to watch it.

[–]HyperCalcium 1 point2 points ago

haha I wonder how many people besides me made this exact combo.

[–]spike312 0 points1 point ago

This matches up with the tempo of the song a bit better.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

That's so depressing. My life but add school and homework in there.

[–]thepastIdwell 0 points1 point ago

Indeed. Thank you very much for that, so inspiring a combination!

Here is another combo.

[–]brownsauce 126 points127 points ago

Get a bitch pregnant! That'll spice things up.

[–]dcthomas82 160 points161 points ago

As someone with two jobs and a restless 9-month-old, I would advise against this.

[–]ani625 141 points142 points ago

As a former infant, I agree.

[–]American_Assface 61 points62 points ago

As a current infant, gxjonndtvhmorewwqgjjmbbredgvgiopllhdzcvtegvvggjkifbc

[–]RalphMullin 1 point2 points ago

Damn, as an infant, you can really say some complicated things. I wouldn't even begin to know how to say wqgjj.

[–]sepp_omek 5 points6 points ago

maybe you should take a conversational icelandic class.

[–]SnailJelly 4 points5 points ago

Do an AMA?

[–]akatherder 41 points42 points ago

Your problem diagnosed as: Not enough kids.

Solution: Get a different bitch pregnant. That'll really spice things up.

[–]mr_tw 32 points33 points ago

Problem: Not enough bitches

[–]gangy86 12 points13 points ago

bitches be crazy

[–]archersparadox 2 points3 points ago

Crazy is the spice of bitches.

[–]KingToasty 11 points12 points ago

Have you met any two-year-olds yet?

They are the most blatantly evil things on this earth. I wish you luck.

[–]SurfinGrandma 10 points11 points ago

Father of a 2 year old here, I can confirm this.

[–]Durpulous 9 points10 points ago

Nice try, grandma.

[–]HeBoughtALot 2 points3 points ago

two-year-olds be craZy

[–]verbality 18 points19 points ago

That's the worst possible advice for this situation. THE WORST!

[–]stillalone 5 points6 points ago

that just gives you a reason to do the same stupid shit day in and day out.

[–]Your_Bubble_Buddy 1 point2 points ago

Just happened to me. 20, 3.8 at a good college with 40 hours left ... time to transfer to a shitty college since it's close to home!

[–]Mothmanx 26 points27 points ago

I find this more depressing than funny.

[–]woofers02 10 points11 points ago

Kinda like how Office Space was funny in college, but once you work an office job for awhile it becomes a little depressing.

[–]DjHomage 12 points13 points ago

http://armorgames.com/play/6244/every-day-the-same-dream Second time posting this awesome link. Hope somebody actually plays it this time.

[–]Noel_is_God 2 points3 points ago

Terrific game.

[–]Waving_from_heights 1 point2 points ago

Agreed, took me an embarrassingly long time to work out how to progress through it...

[–]DjHomage 2 points3 points ago

I'm glad someone actually bothered clicking my link. If you enjoyed that one you might want to try [this]. That is If you haven't already. Pay close attention to the title.(http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/555181)

[–]mmss 1 point2 points ago

Well, that was an interesting way to kill an hour.

[–]mikent 35 points36 points ago

Start smoking weed

[–]texasvenezolano 11 points12 points ago

That's what I do! Just insert a joint in between the second and third frame and that pretty much sums up my life.

[–]mikent -1 points0 points ago

turn that frown upside down!

[–]n1c0_ds 1 point2 points ago

I'd advise against this. As much as I enjoy weed, it's anything but a problem solver.

[–]ehand87 2 points3 points ago

Unless your problem is sobriety!

[–]Stouff-Pappa 7 points8 points ago

Glad im not the only one.

[–]made_your_day 0 points1 point ago

Are you kidding? I'm not sure if I can think of a first world problem more vocally complained about than this.

[–]Male_Librarian 8 points9 points ago

I didn't know a gif made from Spongebob could be so depressing.

[–]Slayer500x 7 points8 points ago

that's me, but without a job or car

[–]this_guy_over_here 7 points8 points ago

yup just started work full time again for the summer, this is exactly how I feel. An hour commute, leaving at 6 a.m. getting home a 6 p.m. ...

[–]shyloque 5 points6 points ago

this is exactly my situation, except mine is an intern kind of thing, so no money...

[–]S1ayer 1 point2 points ago

Wow. I can't even imagine. I work 9 to 3 and even now I feel like there's not enough hours in the day for fun.

[–]this_guy_over_here 4 points5 points ago

yup I'm pretty much a zombie... the worst part, when I started working and I would complain, my dad would be like, "now remember son, unless you win the lottery, welcome to the rest of your life." very inspiring :/ but I do enjoy (mostly) what I do which is why after 3 years I still do it.

[–]S1ayer 7 points8 points ago

Aye. The system is still fucked up though when you think about it. Work like a dog and then enjoy your retirement.... if you don't get cancer and die first.

Then what if there's no afterlife. You spent your entire life working and miserable.

[–]SoepWal 1 point2 points ago

It doesn't have to be this way, but it can be tricky to avoid it. Minimize your expenses and you can get away with working less.

Unfortunately, it can be hard to find a 'part-time' (or on/off fulltime) position that pays well..

I'm not sure why all the 'good' jobs are fulltime only, but it seems to be the case.

[–]this_guy_over_here 0 points1 point ago

well:

  • I work for family
  • I need/want the experience (I learn more at work than I do at school)
  • I enjoy my field of work

I just feel like a zombie because I need to get used to waking up early. I also work on and off full time, I work full time when I'm not in school. There is a lot of long hours in my field of work.

[–]SweetMojaveRain 0 points1 point ago

I'm sorry, this made me rage.

[–]Wutzberger 6 points7 points ago

I know that feel.

[–]daconman 1 point2 points ago

Does anyone have the .gif from the episode "Squidville" where Squidward has a similar depressing life montage of going through his daily routine?

[–]daconman 1 point2 points ago

THAAAAAAAAANK YOOOOOOOOOU

[–]ModernChaot 1 point2 points ago

So true. Retail is actually worse by killing your hours randomly.

[–]Kodiack 0 points1 point ago

This is the truth. I can be scheduled anywhere from 7:30 in the morning to 9:00 at night, Monday-Sunday. I cannot plan for anything at all more than a few days ahead of time because of how the schedules are made. It's driving me crazy. I'm the kind of person that usually plans at least a bit ahead of time, but with such inconsistent hours working retail, it really wears a person down.

[–]ModernChaot 0 points1 point ago

Ouch, that's even worse than I have to deal with right now. My new schedule for next week is identical to the one I have right now. Not exactly perfect with this eating up most of your weekend (Th-Su)... I might seem like I'm complaining, but that's just because I need to find a goal to make me actually go to work.

[–]Bleeearg 1 point2 points ago

Take up yoga. No... Seriously.

[–]skyly 1 point2 points ago

And this is why I'm seriously not looking forward to the end of college. Sadly the things that I enjoy (history primarily - although I do like a lot of science, I just can't participate in it well due to being mathtarded) are not easy to get a job with as I refuse to be a teacher. In all honesty, I think I'm going to end up working in a cubicle unless I get lucky.

[–]Durpulous 4 points5 points ago

There's nothing wrong with working in a cubicle for a while. Entry level positions often aren't glamorous, but that's OK. At least you'll have a job, a paycheck, and getting some experience.

[–]Clairdassian 1 point2 points ago

True dat. I think a lot of the problem is that at school we were taught "go to uni and walk into a £30,000 management job" but in real life after uni you're gonna be doing someone elses photocopying for a while.

[–]imsecretlyagaycat 2 points3 points ago

Reminds me of office space

[–]the2belo 1 point2 points ago

This is synchronizing perfectly with the ticking of my desk clock, and it's making it even more depressing than it already is.

[–]Trapped_in_Reddit 4 points5 points ago

The older I get, the less of me it seems there is to go around.

[–]chefmcduck 1 point2 points ago

Get some hobbies. Like as that one user 'brownsauce' mentioned, you could always frolic with a female until it flourishes an offspring.

[–]WindSandStars 1 point2 points ago

Frolic with a Female until it Flourishes

[–]Daleo 1 point2 points ago

Get Hobby!! Make beer!

[–]krach87 1 point2 points ago

As a homebrewer, this isn't really something you can do that often unless you have bundles of cash. And are willing to wait a month each time to see how you did.

[–]Daleo 0 points1 point ago

You can get a basic starter kit for anywhere between $50 - $150. Plus, you can stagger your brewdays and only have to wait a week between brew maturity. Not to mention the great community and wealth of knowledge you can read between brewdays and drinking. I just got started a couple months ago and I absolutely love it.

[–]skankingcalvin55 0 points1 point ago

30 dollars for a kit each time you want to make a batch, it's a fun hobby but not a frugal one

[–]krach87 0 points1 point ago

More if you want to deviate in any way from the standard recipes which are, most of the time, pretty much just okay.

The overhead isn't really all that bad, \especially if you just want to start with something basic. But if you really get into it its easy to pour thousands into a setup. It's like anything. But with most hobbies you don't have to spend 30+ bucks and wait a month to figure out if you're getting any better at it.

[–]bobofatt 1 point2 points ago

So every day you see me, that's the worst day of my life...

[–]dwallas 1 point2 points ago

I leave on the third of june for a year of backpacking and work in europe and then continuing down to asia. Break out of the loop because, fuck it.

[–]mortalitysequence 2 points3 points ago

I'm doing similar for S.America in September, because, this.

[–]like9mexicans 1 point2 points ago

Welcome to at least the first 4 years of arduous desk work. At Dell, everyone but executives had cubicles. Couple $mil/year? Cubicle.

That .gif is great. Described my first few years in the real world perfectly.

[–]Constantroaming 1 point2 points ago

If it feels that way why not break the cycle? Take up a hobby, running, hiking, get outside enjoy the little victories.

When i was 18 I was floating around the persian gulf on a ship this crusty old chief sat down next to me while I was on watch and during the conversation gave me some of the best advice I have ever recieved.

"There is only one person in this world that is going to make you comfortable and happy, and that person is you". Of course he followed it with "You need to bring your own sun screen on watch you will fry out here."

But the first part is really valid. You are responsible for your own happiness. Break the cycle.

[–]I_Steam_A_Good_Ham 1 point2 points ago

I feel your pain, and the worst is during the Winter. I get to work and it's dark out- I leave and it's dark out...

[–]Roland_B_Luntz 1 point2 points ago

Me too man. That's why I'm moving to California to be poor and grow cannabis. True story.

[–]HeXBoNe 0 points1 point ago

This is how I feel as well, the wait for Diablo 3 is killer.

[–]Deep_Harmony 0 points1 point ago

I don't understand it. I just don't understand it. How is this even slightly funny?

[–]KingHeartless 0 points1 point ago

Escape!

[–]fitterjimbo 0 points1 point ago

I hear ya on this cuz until recently I felt the same way day to day. You gotta be proactive and force yourself to break the routine... Exercising helps boost self esteem. I found going on walks and listening to music, as lame as it sounds,to be incredibly soothing. Also make an effort to socialize when you have the chance. Even a brief exchange at the grocery store can better your mood. If you really hate your job, remember its just a job NOT your life. Routine sucks especially when you want to be spontaneous and active. Put everything in perspective..you probably don't have it to bad, just make the most out of it

[–]megret 0 points1 point ago

Go for a walk. Seriously. You're bubbled in your cubicle, your house, and your car. Go out for a walk and get reminded that there's a whole world out there that isn't climate controlled and can't play your iPod.

[–]LeSpatula 0 points1 point ago

Take another job. A felt the same for months. I got a job offer and although I had some doubts I took it. Working there for two weeks now, I don't regret it and I think it's awesome.

[–]thepastIdwell 0 points1 point ago

"Don't slave away 70% of your time doing X, you can do Y instead!"

[–]CombatWombat222 0 points1 point ago

I know what you mean. It's been long enough for me, I'm using that somehow as fuel to change my life in a big way, not who I am, just where I am. I'm starting to work some overtime at work (I get paid by the hour) so I can reduce my debt, maybe get a new car, and move somewhere completely unlike here.

You need a beer sir

[–]SnickycrowJayC 0 points1 point ago

If your life really feels like this, you need a hobby, quick. After a while, it gets worse if you don't have something to look forward to on the weekend or whatever.

Normally I'm like "hey it's r/funny, no srs bizness here", but this struck a chord and I had to say something.

[–]dancewiththedevil2 0 points1 point ago

Am i gonna die over thinking this

[–]jazzychill17 0 points1 point ago

Did anyone see the recent Simpsons episode where Bart feels like this and tries to fix it? It was actually quite touching and made you appreciate the life you live. Here's the promo. I couldn't find the whole episode online.

[–]1337007 0 points1 point ago

Start a new hobby bro

[–]ignoramus012 0 points1 point ago

A few years ago I expressed this same sentiment to a co-worker of mine and she replied: "That's what life is, honey." It made me very sad for her.

[–]Tol3ntino 0 points1 point ago

unfortunately the phrase "happy wife, happy life" is true. So that means you life has been sucking lately...sorry, I feel for ya, buddy.

[–]Interested_in_coffee 0 points1 point ago

[–]thepastIdwell 0 points1 point ago

It is the very definition of pure insanity. You're essentially a slave for the money, a system that is really inefficient and really don't need to exist.

[–]SCRising 0 points1 point ago

I hear ya.

[–]HighSorcerer 0 points1 point ago

My life has been exactly the same, except without the car or the job.
