[–]Killfuck_Soulshitter 4 points5 points ago

At least it wasn't: "Fucked Level: Bitch"

[–]JohnTheCrow 38 points39 points ago

Nailed it

[–]Abezilla116 21 points22 points ago

Clearly, fucking bitches is nothing new to OP. We need to report animal abuse.

[–]rstuckmaier 2 points3 points ago

I'm left wondering what a "bitch dude" is.

[–]acntech 302 points303 points ago

Fake. You can even see that he's lifting her up.

This isn't martial arts, it's acrobatics.

[–]OCDTrigger 279 points280 points ago

[–]screaming4metal 74 points75 points ago

Everytime I see this, I laugh.

[–]davidlen 5 points6 points ago

[–]_wafflefries 10 points11 points ago

ps LOOK HOW FAST I REPLIED TO YOUR COMMENT

[–]king-rat 6 points7 points ago

[–]KoalaBomb 10 points11 points ago

I couldn't find it but holy fuck did I ever stumble upon gold.

[–]king-rat 5 points6 points ago

I might as well stick my tongue in a drawer and never blow again.

[–]screaming4metal 0 points1 point ago

This was indeed, the goldest gold that ever golded.

[–]king-rat 3 points4 points ago

At last! Somebody with more constitution than the rest of us delivers.

[–]dinklebob 1 point2 points ago

I REMEMBER THAT EPISODE! Wow nostalgiablast. Buster gets a bunch of conspiracies off of strange internet sites for his newspaper or something.

[–]lookiamapollo 1 point2 points ago

its called a nostalgiaboner

[–]Pumpkin_Pie 0 points1 point ago

yep, that ones a keeper

[–]TheyMightBeMidgets 6 points7 points ago

It's impressive acrobatics however.

That move could very easily go disastrously wrong.

Balls of steel all around.

[–]savingrain 3 points4 points ago*

In wrestling they do this all the time.

Dat diving hurricarana.

[–]TheyMightBeMidgets 2 points3 points ago

Wrestling is a dangerous activity in its own right.

That said, look at the body whip in this gif versus the traditional wrestling move. If he stumbles at all going into his roll, it's going to be a bad time.

[–]savingrain 0 points1 point ago

Yep. Above pictured wrestler broke her neck when the person she was performing this move on fucked up.

[–]TheyCallMeTomSawyer 2 points3 points ago

Right? I wish that I had that kind of talent when I was a ten year old girl.

[–]Tovora 1 point2 points ago

If it did go wrong, the gif would be better.

[–]TheyMightBeMidgets 9 points10 points ago

I think it is time to step back from the internet when you hope a clip will end with someone becoming a quadriplegic.

[–]Tovora 0 points1 point ago

I think it's time to take a step back when you don't recognise a joke.

[–]iLoveFeynman 0 points1 point ago

That move could very easily go disastrously wrong.

No it couldn't.... to be honest that move can be practiced completely safely unlike many others.

That is, when we make the proper assumption that this isn't an actual match of grappling, wherein the male is a co-conspirator and actively assisting this pre-planned move.

In a match doing this move could net you a nasty landing, though.

[–]TheyMightBeMidgets 1 point2 points ago

No it couldn't

If he mistimes his roll, he could easily break his neck.

She's using his neck as a fulcrum, and the only thing keeping his head on straight is his imparted momentum. One slip and instead of going with the force he is countering it.

I understand that trained professionals can perform this with a relative degree of safety, but to pretend there is no risk only encourages another generation of wheel-chair bound backyard wrestlers.

[–]iLoveFeynman 1 point2 points ago

If he mistimes his roll, he could easily break his neck.

Nope. Just nope. Take it from someone who has trained Jiu Jitsu for a while now and actually been on both sides of that move (although I could not pull it off so gracefully): At no point in this move is his neck anywhere near a position in which it could "easily break" it.

[–]TheyMightBeMidgets 1 point2 points ago

Right, except there is a long history of broken necks associated with it.

But perhaps you'd like upload a video of yourself to show how safe it is.

[–]iLoveFeynman 0 points1 point ago

Please provide a citation that backs up your first remark.

And I'm not taping, nor uploading, a video of me doing anything.

I have performed this move and been on both sides of it.

Mistiming "your" roll could not easily result in your neck being broken. How could he even mistime his roll? Have you ever performed a similar movement or this movement itself? Just reading you typed that makes me certain the answer to both of those questions is negative.

This move is far less dangerous for the neck than some far simpler guillotines

[–]miskatonicrich 4 points5 points ago

Lucha Libre!!

[–]itfeelsfeynman 41 points42 points ago

To be reasonable, no one explicitly claimed it to be real.

Also, why are you taking the exhibition out of the martial arts? What are katas if not pre-planned exhibitions? Whether this is valid or not as such, choreography has always played a part in most forms of martial arts.

[–]GCanuck 12 points13 points ago

What are katas if not pre-planned exhibitions?

While not a martial artist by any means, wouldn't katas be muscle memory training?

[–]Dienekes00 21 points22 points ago

As a martial arts instructor, yes, I assure you, that's exactly what they are. Through katas, and other exercises, you train your body in strikes, stances, and balance that you repeat so many times they just can just flow out with no thought. They are also an exercise in self-discipline, timing, and fluid motion.

[–]itfeelsfeynman 1 point2 points ago

Never heard it like that but yes, I guess that's what they are, really. Yet, you do display them to the layman public as an exhibition of the art itself. doctorcrass said that these are not katas because they are over-the-top dance routines. I agree that they may be that but i also think we're taking this a bit serious business.

[–]mickeyjawn -5 points-4 points ago

Not really, they wouldn't be that practical in an actual fight other than teaching you the proper form and technique to execute a move. They were pretty fun to do though when you had a bunch of people in the dojo.

also, there is no fear in this dojo.

[–]GCanuck 9 points10 points ago

other than teaching you the proper form and technique to execute a move.

I.e. muscle memory

[–]mickeyjawn 6 points7 points ago

Aye, I thought you meant the entire kata. In the way you meant it, yes, muscle memory.

[–]isopropophlex 1 point2 points ago

I see katas as a nice way to train muscles, movement, balance and it's fun to do (puzlle) It's extra. Not an endpoint. You can skip it if you want. But I keerp it in my training. It's something I still can do if I'm 68 yrs. old or something. Full-contact sparring isn't an option anymore then....

[–]xilpaxim 4 points5 points ago

Well, the title of this GIF makes me think that, at least OP thinks it is real.

[–]TheyCallMeTomSawyer 0 points1 point ago

Or knew it could pass as such and wanted to trick us for the karma </3

[–]JohnJohnPhenomenon 0 points1 point ago

Wait. No one said anything about equilibrium? I am upset, reddit.

[–]reddell 0 points1 point ago

She fucked you like a bitch dude.

That implies it was real. It doesn't need to explicitly claim to be real to warrant someone saying that it's not.

[–]itfeelsfeynman 0 points1 point ago

So you're saying that interpretation is enough to establish truth?

[–]reddell 0 points1 point ago

No. I'm saying it is a reasonable interpretation so his response addressing that reasonable interpretation is also reasonable. Not sure what establishing truth has to do wit it.

[–]itfeelsfeynman 0 points1 point ago*

It's one possible reasonable interpretation.

Another would be "this man has no knowledge of the outcome of the "match" and his exclamation may refer only to the notion of victory of one participant over the other, regardless of veracity of said "match"."

Are some people not enthused by pro-wrestling match events, fully aware that it's choreographed?

So, you assumed that the interpretation you chose for the man's sentence to have was the one he intended. Just to say that implicitly and explicitly are very defining terms when it comes to establishing reasonableness in a sentence.

[–]reddell 0 points1 point ago

You gave another reasonable interpretation, but that doesn't make his any less reasonable. So my point still stands. I'm not sure why you want his comment to be unnecessary so bad, you seem to be going to great lengths to justify your criticism of it...

[–]itfeelsfeynman 0 points1 point ago

Me? My comment didn't say it was real. Neither did it say it was fake.

you want his comment to be unnecessary so bad

Grammar aside, you're once again interpreting things where they aren't explicit, in order to fit your view. He said "it's fake" I said "no one said it's real". My criticism was fair.

Also, pertaining to the rest of the original comments, he called it acrobatics, demeaning it as a part of martial arts. Again, I didn't even assert or deny it's validity as martial arts, merely exposing a counterpoint to his blatantly antagonistic remark.

So you see, if you had read the comments carefully, you would've noticed that I haven't presumed anything, yet allowed for everything.

I am justifying my criticism of the remark but as to wanting it to be bad, that's your interpretation of what may or not be implicit in my words.

[–]reddell 1 point2 points ago

I said "no one said it's real". My criticism was fair.

No one needs to explicitly say that it is real to warrant his comment. So your criticism isn't even a criticism, it's just irrelevant.

but as to wanting it to be bad, that's your interpretation of what may or not be implicit in my words.

You misread, I said that you wanted it to be unnecessary, "so bad" is describing how you wanted it to be unnecessary.

[–]itfeelsfeynman 0 points1 point ago

No one needs to explicitly say that it is real to warrant his comment.

Hadn't thought of that. I stand corrected.

Still my criticism is relevant as to saying that being fake and acrobatic does not necessarily make it any less martial arts, more than it applies to the statement of being either real or fake.

As for my misreading, yes, I did. Sorry. But I insist that my arguments are far from biased towards any veracity or falseness, merely pondering that the opposite of each can be true.

Aside from all this, let me tell you I enjoyed this back and forth very much. You were intelligent, polite and to the point and that's rare on the internets.

[–]daielquon 7 points8 points ago

[–]titanicx 11 points12 points ago

Actually he's most likely not lifting her up, it's not fake, but its a demonstration, timing, and lots of practice, I have done a similar move with another guy doing a run up and flip forward after hooking the neck, Takes timing and practice, just like a movie does. But is possible and even in a real life situation would be possible, not probable, but possible. To see that he's not lifting her up follow the second punch, she uses an outside in block to continue to push the block out of the way, in his momentum of the punch is where you see the lift, she actually uses his arm to jump, as well as using a technique similar to a crescent kick, the momentum of his movement and her leap creates the torque to then spin and flip him. It's a very precise and well practiced move, very beautiful in it's fluidity, and very fun to do as well.

[–]chimpychimp 6 points7 points ago

Except this is arguably somewhat closer to what would happen if you tried a fancy move like that on someone who weighs far more than you.

[–]WeaponsGradeHumanity 0 points1 point ago

Well, at least he's alright.

[–]Abezilla116 2 points3 points ago

While this is definitely possible to do without being lifted up, I can't see this being used very often in a real fight.

[–]dochdaswars 0 points1 point ago

Can you back this up somehow? I'm not calling you out, just have always been really curious as to whether or not this move is even possible without the support of the person being attacked.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points ago

Its hard to see for sure, but it looks to me like it's a flying armbar with some fancy shit added in. Flying armbars can and do happen in high level BJJ tournaments and sometimes in MMA fights:

Here is a flying armbar minus the fancy shit.

[–]clamsmasher 1 point2 points ago

She probably would have been better off just doing the arm bar instead of scissoring his head.

I concur, she just added fancy shit.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

I loved the Robert Drysdale commercials that were out a couple years ago. The slow mo flying armbar was amazing.

I've been pretty fortunate enough to see Toby Imada's insane inverted triangle choke over Jorge Masivadal. It was a small venue so we had a clear view of the action. Everyone was amazed, even Masivadal.

[–]Abezilla116 0 points1 point ago

Its entirely possible, just hard enough that you will rarely find an opening and there are much easier ways to take an opponent down. Just seems a little unnecessary.

[–]geoman2k 1 point2 points ago

90% of martial arts you see on TV is acrobatics.

[–]BillyNeutron 1 point2 points ago

It's an exhibition of course it's fake.

[–]woop_dee_flip_n_doo 0 points1 point ago

Just when I thought this was empowering and inspirational...

[–]CircuitLogic 0 points1 point ago

They're break dance fighting!

[–]bobdolebananaz 0 points1 point ago

Obviously! it's for athletic demonstration purposes. If it wasn't fake she would have just hit him and he probably would not have done a traditional punch in a front stance and waited for her reaction.

[–]DrascaL 0 points1 point ago*

It looks like some sort of wrestling to me. What they did looks like a Tilt-a-Whirl Headscissors Takedown into a fujiwara armbar, instead of the DDT shown the the video.

[–]altometer 0 points1 point ago

Split the GIF up, you can clearly see that he is supporting her, and that he starts into the flip on his own.

[–]homelessnesses 0 points1 point ago

It is really well choreographed though, no hesitation between the initial strike and the spectacular flying counter. You can tell it's choreographed by looking at the direction his feet are pointing when he falls. He has swung his hips to put his body parallel to the vector of force.

[–]lemonpjb 0 points1 point ago

It's choreography.

[–]54_46 0 points1 point ago

South Korean take on it.

I don't see what the problem is.

[–]ProjectileHerpes -1 points0 points ago*

Its obviously set up, but its still Martial Arts.

Much of Capoeira, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Kerala, T'ai chi ch'uan, among others, is completely superfluous and often impractical, yet no one in their right mind will not call them Martial Arts because of some of their facets.

[–]stanleyfarnsworth 5 points6 points ago

Well, it's art, anyway...

[–]daddyjackpot 0 points1 point ago

I prefer to think of it as softcore martial arts. Contact, but no penetration.

[–]stanleyfarnsworth 0 points1 point ago

Ha. Good one.

[–]benreeper 0 points1 point ago

And the guys name is Arthur Marshall.

[–]stanleyfarnsworth 1 point2 points ago

Exactly.

[–]footinmymouth 0 points1 point ago

It reminds me of that Saturday morning martial arts TV show that was on in the mid-90's. There was a core of fighters with different martial arts skills, and they went through a 2 or 3 challenges each week. I remember one guy used his hair braid as a weapon...obviously fake, but still entertaining.

[–]ZootSuitReddit -2 points-1 points ago

Wrong. This is an example of a classic Vovinam technique. Yes, this was a staged demonstration, but that's a real move.

[–]Burlapin 53 points54 points ago

Fuck OP; how do you not all have him tagged yet?

He's a karma whore because he's going to sell his account. I have a really easy time remember this because I have him RES tagged as KARMA WHORE TO SELL ACCOUNT.
Fuck you, Mind_Virus.

[–]sorcon 8 points9 points ago

If this is true, how much do you need for a sale? Good grief, he's almost got a million...

[–]First_thing 24 points25 points ago

Who in their right mind buys reddit accounts???

[–]cyclicamp 4 points5 points ago

Advertising companies who believe high link karma = preferential treatment through spam filter, /new, and moderator approval. It is debatable if they are in their "right mind" in thinking this.

[–]a_starfish 1 point2 points ago

Go on. Is this actually the case?

[–]Thecrumblingcookie 1 point2 points ago

My thoughts exactly

[–]kingkev90 8 points9 points ago

about tree fiddy

[–]Waffles81 0 points1 point ago

I have him tagged as "TALENTED KARMA WHORE"

Then again, i liked the post because i mainly come to reddit for entertainment.

[–]generalT 0 points1 point ago

how much you think that account is worth?

[–]Drewu271 0 points1 point ago

I honestly downvote every post he makes because he makes it to the front page everyday. The shit he posts isn't even entertaining. I really wish someone would just sit under the "new" category and downvote his shit.

[–]Tijok 32 points33 points ago

So conflicted. Love the GIF, but hate the title.

To upvote or not to upvote...

[–]sausagekingofchicago 21 points22 points ago

downvote. OP is a karmawhore.

[–]beethy 2 points3 points ago

973,078 link karma

You weren't joking

[–]lmgur -1 points0 points ago

Who cares if he is a karma whore, so long as people enjoy his submissions they should upvote him.

[–]lmgur 0 points1 point ago

So? If he has 1 million imaginary points and someone is interested in buying it from him, good for him.

[–]CherrySlurpee 58 points59 points ago

Clearly thats Ray Mystero Jr's wife.

[–]Colostomy 13 points14 points ago

As a Rey Mysterio fan, this comment and the comments below made me cry.

[–]jacksonattack 4 points5 points ago

We're not saying BOOOO... We're saying BOOOO-yaka.

[–]dappyrootz 1 point2 points ago

Hurricanrana's for everyone!

[–]JeremySquirrel 33 points34 points ago

Staged but very well choreographed - I guess they are quite close in view if the proximity of his face to her snatch.

[–]load_more_comets 12 points13 points ago

So close you could almost taste it.

[–]hoobsher 9 points10 points ago

She fucked you like a bitch dude.

ಠ_ಠ

[–]vndude 4 points5 points ago

Vovinam - Vietnamese martial art... for everyone who's interested.

[–]iLoveFeynman 1 point2 points ago

Also a move in:

Judo

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Sambo

Not a complete list

[–]GunRaptor 0 points1 point ago

I was wondering. Thank you.

[–]m_le 0 points1 point ago

Yeah it's definitely Vovinam.

[–]theonizemus 6 points7 points ago

IRL Black Widow (staged or not)

[–]LimeDog 3 points4 points ago

10/10 Would Bang

[–]doraeminemon 1 point2 points ago

Cammy ?

[–]MonsterIt 1 point2 points ago

Seems staged.

[–]MarkEffed 1 point2 points ago

Relax, this was just a demonstration.

[–]MindintoMatter 1 point2 points ago

The title is completely untrue. Most likely if they went at each other in reality the girl would be beat horribly.

[–]vixtt 1 point2 points ago

that's totally not choreographed, totally. not.

[–]peachspecial 1 point2 points ago

Pretty sure this is Vovinam, known for their blue uniforms--- and flying head scissors.

[–]mbleslie 1 point2 points ago

Um he just sort of takes it while she's mounting and spinning him. Gonna go with FAKE.

[–]revenantae 1 point2 points ago

This isn't fighting, it's a Wushu performance, which is more like a very elaborate martial arts dance. Look them up on youtube, some of the performances are as amazing as the best martial arts fight scenes, but without the need for multiple takes and camera tricks.

[–]jiggygent 1 point2 points ago

It's Mind_Virus!!!!! KARMA WHORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYone needs to add this biotch to RES!!!!!!!!! Downvoted foolio!

[–]Bachmed 1 point2 points ago

Good old mind_virus, posting the same fucking shit over and over for the past year and making stupid fucking titles. I know you are trying to sell your account when you get more karma you fuckin loser, eat shit and die

[–]savingrain 1 point2 points ago

Nice hurricanrana.

[–]pooperdooper 1 point2 points ago

staged.

[–]Jacknuggett 1 point2 points ago

"tell vegita when you see him . . . Like a bitch" for all you team four star fans

[–]tehtehayex 3 points4 points ago

So this is where Agent Romanova got her training

[–]DownvoteTsunami 1 point2 points ago

Too bad if this was real she would have been power bombed.

[–]DrJeckylMrHyde 0 points1 point ago

Back of the neck first, both their bodyweight. Dead Ho.

[–]StendhalSyndrome 0 points1 point ago

It is more like wrestling, especially Lucha, I keep thinking of Rey Mysterio he does tons of crap like this. Totally set up but cool none the less, I believe the move is called (forgive my spelling) a Hurra-can-rana?

[–]Kiel297 1 point2 points ago

Really, it's just called a Rana. It's only supposed be a Hurracanrana when Huracan Ramirez or any of his descendants does it, although thats largely been forgotten. Even so, a Hurracanrana ends in a pin. This doesn't, making it simply a Rana.

[–]DrascaL 0 points1 point ago

It looks like a Tilt-a-Whirl Headscissors Takedown into a fujiwara armbar.

[–]StendhalSyndrome 0 points1 point ago

Same thing, just didn't add on the last move. Looks cool but the guy is assisting her a wee bit too much for her extra arm swings then his fall is way too over sold. If he didn't brace for her rana/tilt her momentum would have either sent her flying off him or they both would have fallen mid way from him not supporting her extra weight. Oddly enough I've had someone do something close in a non sparring/wrestling scenario.

@ a hardcore show on the edge of pit, stupid kids throwing semi-martial-art-styled kicks at crowd, out of nowhere, kid spin hook kick'd into crowd expecting us to catch him, he really gets some good height too. Smashes this girl right in the face with his heel, I catch one of his legs guy next to me catches the other over his shoulder and his force took us both down inadvertently double powerbombing him on the back of his neck and upper back. He and the girl left in stretchers and it ended the show too. But that was one scrawny kid being caught by two fairly larger guys after he had already hit someone so I have to imagine if someone is flying through the air at you full force foot ass or crotch first if you're not expecting it, you're going down.

[–]Subrotow 0 points1 point ago

Looks like Black Widow.

[–]SpikeC51 0 points1 point ago

I wanna see this slowed down.

[–]hoddap 0 points1 point ago

I read the title in a Pakistani voice for some reason ಠ_ಠ

[–]runngun5 0 points1 point ago

TF;DS..that's too fast, didn't see..wtf just happened there??

[–]MuffinatorXIII 0 points1 point ago*

I've seen this move before. it was another gif of some kid running up to another kid and doing this to him. also how the hell do you do that. also is there a name to this move

[–]DrJeckylMrHyde 0 points1 point ago

You do that by having the person you are" throwing" support your entire body weight and his for the two seconds it takes for you to make like a spider monkey all over his torso. Total horseshit move. Not an ounce of reality.

[–]mindbleach 0 points1 point ago

And they said Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was fiction!

[–]FrostByt 0 points1 point ago

Ummm. This is staged.

[–]FatBallSack 0 points1 point ago

I think that's the Black Widow move. Kinda flashy and impractical but sexy... yeah very sexy.

[–]Yeti60 0 points1 point ago

IT'S SUPER DYNAMIC COOKING TIME!

[–]JasonWeb54 0 points1 point ago

Only in Asia.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Lol, yes.

[–]Kompa_ 0 points1 point ago

I put my 4yo son in Kung Fu and when researching the sifu we found him doing something similar. Not sure if it's staged or not, but it looks impressive.

It got awfully Pokemon up in here..

[–]magzma16 0 points1 point ago

I would love that in slow motion, amazing.

I wish I didn't watch it...Kind of a shitty demonstration. I'm gonna watch that video of Bruce Lee lighting matches with his nunchuks to make me feel better now

Cool dance.

I'm pretty sure that only works if the other person is in on it, or has no fighting experience.

If you are going to portray martial arts in a demonstration than actually throw the guy. This isn't the WWE here. Being the former throwing partner for my Sensei it always looked better when I actually was thrown and didn't just "go with the move" and honestly they both hurt the same if you fall right.
