Not sure why you're being downvoted, the knife in CoD4 had a maximum range of 128 inches, or ~3.25 metres. Source

In MW2 Commando added 176 inches to the already present 128 inches giving a total of 304 inches or 7.7 metres.

The funny thing is, those are realistic distances at which a melee charge with a knife is a realistic and potentially more lethal approach than a gun.

"Sgt. Dennis Tueller of Salt Lake City Police Department conducted experiments which let to the conclusion that an attacker with a knife in his hand covers 21 feet in 1.5 seconds. Therefore anything under 21 feet is considered to be in the zone of "imminent danger of death or great bodily harm."

In other words a person with a knife or any edged weapon is a direct and imminent threat to you if that person is within 21 feet (7 yards).

Research shows that a person with a knife who is closer than 7 yards can stab or cut you before you can stop them with a gun.

Most police officers, even with the gun already in hand, cannot hit a target twice before the "assailant" can cover 10 yards."

The arguments were how unrealistic it was that some can knife at that distance, he cited examples of how it is a somewhat accurate distance for a lethal knife kill.

I just don't get the problem with knives in COD, I have never had a problem with them from Block ops on. I only get knifed if someone walks up behind me and would have killed me anyways. On rare occasions I get a knife to the face, but only when I'm goofing off with duel scorpions and I need to reload. Both of those occasions I feel like I would have died anyways.

False. Black ops didn't have this kind of knifing mechanic. Black ops also removed the ability to perform what is know as the "quick scope". 3Arc's innovation of this series is great. Though...horses?

Google it. The game is going to have 2 storylines (like every CoD since MW). You will normally be playing the game as David Mason (Alex Mason's son) in the year 2025, and some flashbacks are going to take place in the late 1980's, where you play as Alex Mason himself.

Yea... I don't get why this is so contentious. You try driving a car through the mountains without roads or sources of fuel. If there are only a few of you, it's a lot faster and easier to take horses, and a lot quieter than coming in with helicopters.

Yeah, but I've heard that the first third of the campaign is set in the 80's, continuing from black ops, and the horses may clue the setting, which may be the southwest, the middle east, places where horseback is a more common mode of transport

Obvious hyperbole, but the hacking situation on MW2 is legitimately out of control.

I'm more of a BF3 guy myself, but I do play MW2 from time to time when I'm looking for a quick fix; its fun, and you don't have to think too hard.

I would estimate, and I'd call this a conservative estimate, that close to 50% of the games I play have obvious hackers. I generally leave a lobby if I see someone with a ridiculously high score from the game before and I still think that number is fairly accurate.

You see there is where the problem lies, people like me that have over 2k hours in that game, you give me lobbies w/ these noobs, my team doesnt do shit, the other team cant play for shit. That's not at all the problem though. The beauty of killcams is that they make it easy to tell most actual hackers from good players. There is absolutely no denying that hacking is HUGELY widespread, moreso than any modern game I've played.

THAT is the problem.
