Are you even paying attention? I literally just saw a fight where a guy could have won if he cranked the other fighter's ankle, but knew that Dana White would have fired his ass on the spot. And when did I say anything about forbidden arts? I'm tired of trying to break it down to simple enough words for your puny, ADD-riddled brain to possibly comprehend, but I'll give it one last shot.

Dana White can't have good fighters injuring, and potentially benching other good fighters for 6-24 months at a time. That is the opposite of making money, which also so happens to be the opposite of what Dana White wants to do. So fighters are contractually limited as to how hard they can go in the ring. UFC appeals to certain skillsets more so than others to keep it entertaining to watch. And that's the bottom line.

Which fight? Can you imagine that the fighter didn't properly execute the ankle crank? Or didn't even know how to do it properly?

Not only do heel hooks and other foot locks happen in the UFC (Mir vs Lesnar for the most famous) but in Frank Mir's last fight he broke Nogeira's arm in a Kimura. Was he banned for the second broken arm victim in his UFC career? No, he's fighting for the title in three weeks.

Most fighters only fight twice a year anyway, so it's less of a big deal than you think, and the many ways you're wrong are piling up fast.

My question for you is why one of your scary "20 second knockout" artists doesn't join the UFC, but just fight at 75%, you know? Treat it like a training session, play around a bit and then knock the guy out in the third round. Rise to the top ranks, make millions, become world famous... Why are they not doing this?

Alan Belcher v. Rousimar Palhares, last night on Fox. Rousimar has the leg lock, starts to twist the ankle, lets go for no reason.

A broken arm heals better and is a lot easier to fight after than a broken leg. A broken leg usually means you'll be limping for the rest of your life. And you do understand that Frank Mir is like...top card in the UFC right? Dana White isn't dumb and Mir = money. I'm sure Mir got his ass chewed off by his trainers and White.

I'm not saying that all of the fighters in the UFC are holding back. I believe that all of them are giving 100% most nights, but the honest fact is, there are people that are way better at hurting people than you are lead to believe with what you see on UFC. One reason they don't compete could be that they don't like competition. Another reason is that they don't need the money. And you need to stop putting words in my mouth, that's starting to piss me off.

I honestly don't know what I was expecting coming to the MMA sub-reddit. I should've known it was going to be a bunch of class-less meat heads who only believe what they are told.

Belcher, also a BJJ black belt, twists out of it, Palhares doesn't just let go. Things can go wrong, you know. A world class pitcher throws bad pitches, a quarterback gets intercepted, a fighter doesn't always secure a heel hook under sweaty conditions against another high level competitor.

You could pull up other similar failed heel hooks in the Abu Dhabi grappling championships. Is that fixed too?

And you do understand that Frank Mir is like...top card in the UFC right?

Mir is realistically more like the 4th in the division, but Overeem is out on testosterone abuse (don't know why he needs it, UFC being so easy and almost fake) and Dos Santos already beat Velasquez. Mir will get beaten by Dos Santos.

I'm sure Mir got his ass chewed off by his trainers and White.

No you're not sure, you're making a guess based on paranoid conspiracy delusions. Mir won Submission of the Night (cash bonus) and at the press conference afterward, White called it the Submission of the Century. I know, I know, that's just what they want us to think, right?

You're describing a conspiracy, one that borders on fraud, that extends across multiple organizations and corporations (UFC, Pride, Dream, WEC, Strikeforce, Bellator, ADCC, plus all the little regional promotions) and 20 years of professional MMA, through thousands of fighters. Yet there have been no leaks, no mention of these orders to pull back or the stonewalling of real killers. Only you and the Shaolin Monks know the secret. Does that sound reasonable?

First off, I'm absolutely positive that at the time Ali was gaining momentum, boxing was not played the same as it is now. You can't compare a style from the 60s which was new and alien, to the economy of technique that Mike Tyson acquired through rigorous training and immaculate coaching. Ali might have had talent, but Tyson had talent AND discipline.

Maybe you should educate your self a little on Mike Tyson's back story before you start making wild claims like Ali being able to beat him. What do you know about Mike Tyson? Did you know that after his mother died, his coach adopted him? Did you know that Don King made him fire the trainer that learned from Gus D'Amoto? Did you know that after Tyson switched trainers, he had his first loss?
