I believe it was the notebook that was handy-dandy, not the thinking chair.

[–]Brianne123 109 points110 points ago

Draw me like one of your French girls... in your handy dandy notebook.

[–]Berdiie 47 points48 points ago

First we draw a circle and then I put a little line over here...

[–]RandomEjaculationGuy 121 points122 points ago

OH GOD FUCK YES IM CUMMING!!!!!

[–]SaltyBabe 30 points31 points ago

Then a few more squiqqly lines down here.

[–]SirGal-I-had 1 point2 points ago

And a happy little tree over there...

[–]TheEnigmaBlade 43 points44 points ago

[–]Look_Who_Shows_Up -5 points-4 points ago

HEY! That's not random!

[–]strawberryberet 20 points21 points ago

He's a guy who never fails. He makes me want to wag my tail. When he comes I wanna wail.

[–]Brianne123 9 points10 points ago

when he cums I want to wail.

FTFY.

[–]nubmonk 13 points14 points ago

NOT IN MY EYEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

[–]BalrogTheLunchbox 199 points200 points ago

If I remember right, he talked on NPR a few years ago about life after Blue's Clues. One of the stories is how he got to date a model who was turned on by the fact he was Steve.

[–]easybakejake 120 points121 points ago

Relevant video that includes the story. Pretty interesting actually http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwmtkFPYXsg

[–]VengefulOctopus 41 points42 points ago

Steve got bald and cute

how is this possible?

[–]illegible 35 points36 points ago

he has an awesome pad too

[–]calamormine 36 points37 points ago

"Steve Burns’s life has been filled with children, even though he lives all alone." -- They couldn't have worded that better?

[–]freedomfilm 18 points19 points ago

How much fucking money did he make off of Blue Clues?

[–]TrickyBastard 23 points24 points ago

Apparently there is a shit ton of money in children's programming. $22 Million.

http://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/steve-burns-net-worth/

[–]zabuma 12 points13 points ago

Wow good for him! :o

[–]remlover 1 point2 points ago

There is no way he has a net worth of 22m. Who knows where that site comes with their info. The guy was on the show for 100 episodes. To get close to 22m he would have gotten huge front end and back end money. I still miss Steve from Blue Clue's. Watching them on Netflix with my son I have learned that his little brother Joe (who looks nothing like him) sucks!

[–]noisycat 11 points12 points ago

If you look at the credits, he later became a producer of the show, which means most of his money was probably from that and not just being on screen.

[–]thesecretbarn 9 points10 points ago

Also, he made all that money in the 90s. If he invested well, it's not out of the question for him to have made a lot more since then.

[–]ellabella0328 8 points9 points ago

You also need to consider the merchandising. All the toys, books, and games with his face on it. Also, all of the videos that were made as special episodes. He was a producer as well. So, yea $22 million seems pretty reasonable.

[–]Silversol99 8 points9 points ago

Plus any live appearances for events.

[–]geekdad 1 point2 points ago

He also has two albums

[–]freedomfilm -1 points0 points ago

Holy shit. That is all.

Thanks for that btw..

[–]ObviousAnswerGuy 1 point2 points ago

TIL steve lives a few blocks away from me

PS - I'm not a hipster, i swear

[–]YD-DR 0 points1 point ago

A Siamese noodle dish?

[–]Shorties 0 points1 point ago

Wait does he have a laminated hardwood floor in his courtyard with no ceiling to protect it from the rain? Is that kind of wood protected from weather?

[–]FeatheredOdyssey 7 points8 points ago

Damn you! I saw the pic and I went looking for the video before I looked at the comments.. The Moth has amazing stories on their YouTube. If Steve doesn't prove that, then just watch a few of the top ones. Depending on them, you may cry, or definitely will.

[–]BalrogTheLunchbox 5 points6 points ago

Ah, great stuff. I remember watching this before, I think it goes in more depth about that story.

[–]sat_am 15 points16 points ago*

One more true story: Around 2003 Steve spent some time in OKC and Norman OK when he was recording his "Songs for Dustmites" album which he recorded with Steven Drozd and some other Flaming Lips related folks. Steve (Burns not Drozd) hooked up with my friend's female roommate after a party and spent the night at their house. My friend had no knowledge of the hookup (though I think he knew Steve was around) until he saw Steve slip out of the house in the morning. He said it was a trip [to] be sitting in his living room and see Steve silently bail out of the house.

[edit]

[–]baalsitch 10 points11 points ago

Blue skee-doo, he can too.

[–]yourdadsbff 0 points1 point ago

*Blue skeet-doo.

[–]magikowl 2 points3 points ago

Adding this to my list of interesting stories about the flaming lips.

[–]SentimentalSentinel 5 points6 points ago

The crowd has no idea when to laugh. Steve tries to be so serious at parts and they keep giggling.

[–]SandieSandwicheadman 3 points4 points ago

The lime green watch is a nice touch.

[–]visirale 5 points6 points ago

Awesome video. Blues Clues was one of my favorite shows. Now that I'm 23 it really sheds some interesting light on the complexities of playing a character like that. My mind is blown.

[–]davidzlocker3 4 points5 points ago

TIL "Froked" is a word.

[–]Redplushie 1 point2 points ago

I watched and paid attention to every single minute of that video. God I miss that voice. He's still a fucking awesome dude.

[–]SassyTattooist 1 point2 points ago

What a cool fucking dude!

[–]Kogknight 1 point2 points ago

I was going to say, the chair means different things to him.

[–]unremarkableusername 0 points1 point ago

Wow, he's actually pretty funny. And completely unrecognizable.

[–]ellabella0328 0 points1 point ago

can we find Jonathan? Can we reunite the two? That would be cool!

[–]sargassum 26 points27 points ago

She seemed to be turned on by him at first. But it turned out that her and her mom mostly wanted to pitch him some TV kid's show they came up with. It's a pretty funny story.

[–]BalrogTheLunchbox 3 points4 points ago

Haha, it had been a while since I had seen/heard the story, guess I forgot that nugget.

[–]adius 2 points3 points ago

Howie Mandel claims that he's been asked to do the Bobby voice from Bobby's World during sex, so I still wouldn't discount this being a Thing

[–]spadetiger 2 points3 points ago

Yeah, two great moments in that story. 1. He walks into a restaurant with her and hears a fellow patron say, " that's Steve from blues clues and I think he's here with an escort". And 2. She gives him a striptease while he sits in the thinking chair and then tries to get him to sing the mail song.... She turned out to be dating him to try to pItch a children's show to him... Great interview

[–]baalsitch 1 point2 points ago

I look like "Steve", so I decided to dress up as "Steve" from blues clues one halloween. I can confirm there are a lot of women turned on by him.

[–]pgan91 0 points1 point ago

Also: When the model wanted to fuck on the couch, he backed off. Shit's too crazy.

[–]Hero_b 0 points1 point ago

heard that on his stand up , hes perty good

[–]Saifire18 0 points1 point ago

As I recall, she and her mom wanted to pitch a children's show idea to him. I remember seeing the story.

[–]LunaAumento 37 points38 points ago

I think my child hood has been destroyed.

Is it wrong that I may be slightly turned on by this?

[–]arisasdf 28 points29 points ago

Well, he is making a rather sexy face.

[–]brickabrack 18 points19 points ago

I went to a party at his house a few months ago. He's a really nice guy, and has a really cute dog. It's brown, though, which is kinda bullshit.

[–]jamessnow 1 point2 points ago

Brown, the other dog on blues clues...

[–]rxzx 1 point2 points ago

Aww sweet he has a dog in real life. I woke up to find some blue paw prints on my back porch last weekend. Totally reminded me of blues clues. Apparantly my mom had tried to get the dogs to "sign" a birthday card with ink on their paws....

[–]jimmysuarez 34 points35 points ago

How is this "WTF"? I don't mean to sound like an asshole, but isn't there a more appropriate place to post this?

[–]rolliedean 6 points7 points ago

I enjoyed this, but it seems more like an r/funny type of post.

[–]SaltyBabe 9 points10 points ago

I shit you not, I'm subscribed to r/ladyboners (which is where I thought this was posted) and I literally said "what the fuck is this shit?!" more because of context of this actually being upvoted in ladyboners rather than it being that "wtf".

[–]Viking_Lordbeast 2 points3 points ago

If you're new to /r/WTF , prepare to be disappointed like this on a daily basis.

[–]jamessnow 1 point2 points ago

If it was Mr. Rogers saying that, would it be WTF worthy?

[–]Sciar -1 points0 points ago

I just said "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS STEVE FROM BLUES CLUES DAY OR SOMETHING?"

So that might count

[–]Theatrefaggg 20 points21 points ago

I'd tap that

[–]kycube 18 points19 points ago

I'd let that tap me.

[–]Glitter_Plague 27 points28 points ago

I thought he was so cute and innocent. It made me want to rip off that green striped shirt and those khakis and have my way with him, while all his anthropomorphic house fixtures watched.

[–]hawthornehoots 2 points3 points ago

Best fucking comment I have ever read. I love you.

[–]Theatrefaggg 0 points1 point ago

That too :)

[–]kycube 0 points1 point ago

Although, letting men put things in my butt is nothing new. ಠ_ಠ

[–]Thizzlbafool 11 points12 points ago

[–]tahwos585 31 points32 points ago

Pow! Right in the childhood!

[–]Correlations 7 points8 points ago

I'd fuck him on it.

[–]Alphia 13 points14 points ago

... Ok!

[–]DohRayMeme 16 points17 points ago

A young boy returned home from a boy scouts retreat. The counselor was derelict in his duties and simply dropped the child off at the walkway, assuming the child would make his way inside safely. Days later police discovered the boy's parents had been killed as part of a gang initiation. The child, found alone in the house for several days with only his dog, was deeply psychologically scared, acting on several distinct separations from reality. His grandmother, who took custody of the orphaned child and his dog, sought assistance from a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist outlined the following examples of disassociation. First, there was an inversion in the perception of color. Secondly there was an interaction with household objects, clocks and tables for instance. This was explained as a coping mechanism for trauma and abandonment and being alone for several days. The third manifestation was more tragic. The boy had found the bodies of the parents by following a trail of bloody paw prints left by the dog. Soon, the boy transferred the parenting role on to his dog Rusty. He insisted that Rusty was guiding him in the way a parent would, what to eat and what to wear, and that a trail of bloodied paw prints guided him all along the way. These prints, of course, were not real. Only the original ones, left by Rusty after the murder of the boy's parents ever actually existed. It took therapists and counselors a while to fully understand the origin of this manifestation of the condition. The child would often draw the paw prints and the places he found them in a notebook while sitting in the chairs of the psychiatrist's office- but they were not red, nor was rusty. Because of the introversion of colors, the paw prints were now blue, and so was the Dog.

[–]neoman4426 1 point2 points ago

wait, if the colors he viewed were inverted, wouldn't he grab the pen or whatever that looked blue to him, which would look red to anyone else?

[–]DohRayMeme 0 points1 point ago

He could read. Also, fiction. =(

I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you meddling kids!

[–]neoman4426 0 points1 point ago

sorry. I tend to think too much about stuff like that. very well written, that one plot hole or whatever just caught my eye you know?

[–]electriophile 0 points1 point ago

._.

[–]wildpeaches 5 points6 points ago

Blue's Clues was huge when I was in high school. My friends and I would get stoned and watch sometimes. I always thought Steve was kinda cute and fantasized about seducing him out lf his nerdy shell.

[–]coldwives 6 points7 points ago

he was my first crush. this makes me moist

[–]foreveralone86 14 points15 points ago

Hell yes!

[–]Sadpeople56 4 points5 points ago

I had the biggest crush on him when I was 6, thanks ಠ_ಠ

[–]atypicalgamergirl 4 points5 points ago

I'd do Steve. Hell yes, I would. Joe? Eh, not so much.

[–]hawthornehoots 2 points3 points ago

Finally someone else that's got the hots for Steve. I'd do him too.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points ago

I think he just got a raging clue

[–]themikeysteve 2 points3 points ago

Well, there goes my childhood

[–]Zynk_ 2 points3 points ago

Nice knowing you, childhood.

[–]CaseyCrafter 4 points5 points ago

I've got the weirdest boner right now.

[–]HammerwithaD 3 points4 points ago

I feel stupid now, but I have been under the impression that Steve killed himself years ago and thats why they replaced him with the other guy. I have been living a lie.

[–]pvk8336 2 points3 points ago

he's actually a really good indie musician nowadays. I met him at a flaming lips concert

[–]Goldcut -4 points-3 points ago

he's actually an indie musician nowadays. I met him at a flaming lips concert

[–]starsweeper -1 points0 points ago

Came here to say this. For the past few years blues clues has made me sad because I thought Steve went crazy from talking to blue screens too much and killed himself. How did a rumor like that go on for so long?

[–]Herbamins 0 points1 point ago

People too stupid to use google.

[–]LibraryDrone 1 point2 points ago

steve said he would never get it on on the red chair.

[–]sparklyunicornmuffin 1 point2 points ago

NOOOO WHAT HAVE YOU DONE.

[–]ehlu15 1 point2 points ago

Right in the childhood... that one hurt

[–]Indoth 1 point2 points ago

I loved Blues Clues when I was a kid. This is deeply unsettling.

[–]Brandwin 1 point2 points ago

Steve really was better than Joe, fuck Joe.

[–]lotusmel72 1 point2 points ago

What happened to the other bloke from blues clues?.. Don't remember this one

[–]kilamumster 0 points1 point ago

This was the first one, then cousin Joe came to stay with Blue. My kid loved that show. Every. Fucking. Day.

[–]UndeadBuggalo 1 point2 points ago

This gif is very unsettling ...

[–]Nozxx 1 point2 points ago

my body is so fucking ready

[–]baalsitch 1 point2 points ago

The funny thing is that in real life, he almost DID fuck in the "handy dandy thinking chair". Somebody please link the youtube video of him telling the story at The Moth. I'm too lazy.

[–]Farted_in_Reddit -3 points-2 points ago

Tooooot.

[–]LucasSalsberry -4 points-3 points ago

He now sings for a living, I think but check this for an invite http://absolutehot.com/fisting-tube/fisting-ace-sabrina-nice-hoe/

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

.... I don't think he's singing there.

[–]Dawboo -4 points-3 points ago

Looks fake. If you look carefully you can see that he doesn't actually say that.
