Bill Nye recently came to my college... A lot of students just left during his discussion. I couldn't go because I was in the same situation as you. I just hope your college is more respectful to intelligent figures... Stay until the fucking end for crying out loud. Its BILL fucking NYE.

I was actually on staff when he came to my university a year or two ago and frankly, he's surprisingly not that interesting. It's still cool cause it's Bill Nye and we grew up watching that shit, but it could have been better.

Dude, I saw Bill Nye talk at my school before. Truth be told, it was boring as shit. Half of the airtime was spent talking about putting solar panels on houses (because college kids are the prime audience for that), and the remainder was just ripped from An Inconvenient Truth, iirc. No experiments, no demonstrations, and no prior indication of it. I don't think he covered a single stat or personal conservation tactic that my computer repair teacher didn't have running three years earlier.

This was at the school that put out recycle bins but emptied them into the trash dumpster.

It was, by the majority, considered a joke, a huge disappointment, and a colossal waste of everyone's time.

I saw him at CU Boulder last October. I had heard he was boring/mean/etc. However, he was absolutely hilarious and entertaining because I'm 99% sure he was drunk, and he happily signed my one of my VHS tapes of the show.
