  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

Okay, I'm a big advocate of karma decay... and I've been using it ever since I found out what it was. I now check every picture I find on karmadecay before I post it...

Signed, a life long surfer/ocean dweller that has been stung 3 times, come in contact with them a billion times, speared and eaten them, and pet them.

They're not all gonna pierce your heart like the croc hunter. RIP Shit, they have a stingray petting zoo for kids at Sea World.

I used to scuba dive a lot and my reaction when I heard Steve Irwin had been killed by a ray was "Holy Crap! That's like being killed by a puppy!"

Their first instinct if they are scared is to run away. It makes me wonder what he was doing to it for it to attack him like that.

Exactly. Shuffle those feet and you shouldn't have a problem. Times I have been stung was from jumping off my surfboard and accidentally landing on one with my foot. It does hurt though...a lot

Honestly, that looks more like a bat ray or eagle ray. Stingrays are more round.

They have them at a lot of aquariums too. I've pet the hell out of some sting rays in my time. Everything from little babies to full grown adults. Petting them in freaking awesome. I will do it every chance I get!
