Beware of trading scammers!

A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports). "Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

"Generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission.

Posting Rules

  • Following Reddiquette is encouraged

  • No Kickstarter, Steam Greenlight, et al. "reminder" posts. Submissions about new projects or major updates to existing ones are allowed.

  • Spoilers can be posted using the following formatting:
    [X Kills Y](/spoiler)
    Result: X Kills Y.

  • To mark a spoiler as relevant to a specific game/topic, use the alternate formatting:
    [Player 1 wins](/spoiler "Pong")
    Result:
    Player 1 wins

  • Report posts containing spoilers not using the above method

  • Don't post users' personal information.

So what you're saying, it's basically a 3 tier system in karma whoring?

Its the nostalgia along with the combination of hypocrisy that gets me. That and birthdays. Reddit in general has horrible obsession with birthdays, but when you show off your N64 themed birthday cake... cringe

/r/gaming has become a true circlejerk, bash EA and CoD, praise Nintendo, Valve Bethesda and Blizzard.

Notice how not a single post that actually linked to the CoD BlOps 2 trailer was upvoted enough, yet posts mocking the trailer made the front page, just does not make sense, i came here yesterday to check out /r/gaming's opinion on the trailer and was surprised that not a single post about the trailer had enough upvotes or comments.

The circle jerk actually turned a full circle and it's at the point where it bashes people that bash EA.

The EA marketing department is learning.

[–]prboi 1 point2 points ago

It seems like lurkers & posters are the EA bashers while commenters are the circle jerk bashers

Going to /r/games is so refreshing.

Then there are the people who complain about /r/gaming who know people will agree with them(you), then there are people like me complaining about your post which is complaining about people who are complaining. All I know is you should stop posting this shit.

Except on r/gamernews the top post is still:

Rock Band iOS shutting down. Game will "no longer be playable" after May 31.

While on r/gaming we have the resolution:

Looks like someone listened! Thanks EA

News travels really slow on r/gamernews sometimes.

That's not the point. The point is that other gaming subreddits have the courtesy to not show bias or prejudice to a certain publisher or developer that is notorious for being unfair or bad.

on any other gaming subreddit, they simply tell it like it is. On /r/gaming, any post regarding EA, Call Of Duty, or Bioware/Mass Effect 3 include a joke or someone cursing them out & constantly provoking others to simply say "STOP BUYING FROM THEM"

In other words, other gaming subreddits hold themselves with professionalism while /r/gaming consistently shows how juvenile & out right insane they can be by constantly letting themselves get so upset about something even though they constantly buy from them.
