Oh, thank god it's just a velociraptor, I thought it was a Mormon.

[–]perverse_imp 4 points5 points ago

Better a velociraptor than a utahraptor.

Someone grew up in Florida! ;)

Alligators randomly on your property in Florida?

Sounds like a cruel joke just waiting to happen to people unfamiliar with the area, going for a visit.

[–]Bernie_Roscoe 1 point2 points ago

Most aren't big enough to risk attacking a human. Those that do are usually killed/relocated.

You do gotta watch out for your pets though

Like Bernie_Roscoe says, most aren't big enough to take on a person.

Though, we had a bull 'gator that lived in this brackish lake near our house. There was a big pipe that ran from the lake to our yard as a kind of overflow. When it rained a lot, he'd crawl through and sunbathe in the ditch at the edge of our property.

I've never had one come up to our house like in the picture, though...

Making the assumption an Alligator -wants- a fight every time you see it?

They have individual minds too, now the recorded footage in that link is a captive raised Alligator, but honestly; you're not in danger of your life just because it's an Alligator.

[–]Light-of-Aiur 1 point2 points ago

I didn't really imply that, but okay...

What I meant with that statement was that, in the residential area I lived, we saw a lot of gators, but a significant majority of them were small and scared of people.

Hell, the big bull gator I referenced never attacked anyone, and didn't go after pets. He eventually died or went off to a new area when they ripped out the invasive species of tree that took root near the lake.

Most creatures tend to avoid a confrontation with a larger creature for no significant gain.

[–]Light-of-Aiur 0 points1 point ago

Yeah... that was the point. ;P

[–]CarmeTaika 1 point2 points ago

Then again, you gotta wonder what that stupid stray cat was thinking in that youtube upload, swatting at the Alligator over pieces of chicken left for the Alligator to eat.

[–]Light-of-Aiur 1 point2 points ago

Probably something like "NO! My chicken!"

[–]CarmeTaika 1 point2 points ago

heh.

[–]Xemped 1 point2 points ago

Lol I would thank God... If there were one.

[–]knighmare 1 point2 points ago

Reminds me of an old joke, Who would you rather be trapped in a room with, A Jehovas witness or a serial killer? A serial killer, because they will only bother you once (thats supposed to be the spoiler tag, i dont think it worked though, no reason to click it)

Repost.

[–]Robby368 1 point2 points ago

I've only seen this photo 35 or 40 times on reddit

[–]DistortedWaffle 1 point2 points ago

Oh thank god it is just this post again with the almost same title it has had for the past year

[–]rockafella7 0 points1 point ago

Nope.

[–]Samccx19 0 points1 point ago

Completely fucking relevant http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yJynygnjMC0

Racist. He could be a Jehovah's Witness for all you know. Maybe he ate some and absorbed their powers.

[–]MoldyMoose 0 points1 point ago

I had a conversation with a jehovah's witness for like an hour about all kinds of stuff. Some of them might be a little over-the-top, but this guy was a bro. Don't judge too quickly.

[–]firebat707 0 points1 point ago

well at least I can call the cops on it

[–]JustAWonderfulMan 0 points1 point ago

Wow, I think this is the hundredth time I've seen this

[–]N04H 0 points1 point ago

In all seriousness, I would definitely take this over a Jehovah's Witness anyday.

[–]katsuga125 0 points1 point ago

Gooday sir! would you like to offer your children as sacrifices to the holy church of alligators?

[–]finaleclipse[S] -1 points0 points ago
