Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure cacti store water inside their stems, and they have a really shallow root system so they would be easy to pull out of the ground. It makes them able to survive their native harsh desert environments. So, a cacti wouldn't be the worst instrument to fight a fire with, providing you are without fire fighting technology. It'd be easy to get out of the ground, not super heavy, and more unlikely to catch fire. Plus if you got a big one you could beat the fire out while sustaining minimal burns.

And you think watery pulp isn't going to be useful to beat out a fire? True, it might not have the higher surface area advantages of a blanket, but in a pinch it seems like a pretty good alternative, especially if you get a decent sized one like the gentleman in the picture.

You could grab it closer to the base of the plant, there are less thorns there. Thorns on cacti are actually pretty easy to avoid. Would you rather have a few pricks/scrapes or a car fire spreading?

Titles like "gets me every time" just lets people post things that are overly blatant reposts. I'm not fully against resposts---sometimes ppl don't see stuff the first time. But this? Everyone has seen this. A title like "gets me every time" shouldn't be enough to make up for OP's lack of creativity and effort.

No, sir. It is you who must fuck off. That kind of excuse always comes up when reposts are mentioned, and it is a very poor one.

We all come to reddit to read/see interesting content. Although old content may be interesting to newer users such as yourself, it is dreadfully and naturally uninteresting to those who have already seen it. All users really want the same thing, though—interesting content. The only way for everyone to be happy is to always have new content.

This is, of course, an idealized solution, but the point is this: there's much to be said against rehashing old, tired material whereas absolutely everyone can enjoy fresh and new content. By objecting against reposts, we can prevent reddit from stagnating and everyone can have a nice experience. By embracing reposts, you accomplish nothing. Enjoy it, by all means, but it would be best not to encourage it.
