Woah.. in case anyone's wondering this was done on a suburban commuter train in Mumbai (Bombay). Mumbai has 3 "lines" for commuter trains. Central, Western and the Harbor line. This was done on the Harbor line (train stops at the end of the video at Reay Road station). I grew up in Bombay and commuting by train is typically an extreme experience (hanging out of the doors etc) but this is pretty nuts.

                The idea that with great risks come great rewards should not be applied to something where the only rewards are excitement and not dying. There was no reasonable reason to take that risk as the risk so far outways the rewards as to make the rewards meaningless.

                To those guys the risk apparently was worth it other wise they wouldn't have done it. Just because you don't think the rewards outway the risk in that situation doen't mean they aren't there. Besides it was cool to watch, if you could do it then I bet you would, and don't wish death on someone just because they can hang on the side of the train and do some cool things.

                  What they did is the same thing as free-soloing (climbing), skydiving, wingsuit gliding, free-running, and any other number of potentially highly dangerous activities. There's no reason to do these things outside of the desire to merely do them. That doesn't make them inherently wrong to do. Maybe he will die an early death, but I bet he's experienced adrenalin rushes most people can only dream of.

                  Edit: replaced free climbing with free soloing - free soloing is the one without assists and safety gear, free climbing still uses ropes and harnesses, just no assists, apparently.

                  Not trying to be a dick, but as a former climber, it's free soloing. Free climbing is different and still involves ropes, a harness, etc. Just no aid gear. Free soloing is no safety gear at all :)

                            That's an odd list of things you'd describe as reckless. When I hear reckless I think like speeding on a bike without a helmet and drunk or something that damn near guarantees death. Base jumping is an extreme sport but not that dangerous and its all controlled. Parkour is like street gymnastics, not really dangerous. Skiing is a pretty common sporting activity and motorcycling is just transportation and a very common hobby.

                                I saw a more impressive thing when I was in India: on the trains there, coffee and tea vendors will hop on at a station and go up and down the aisle selling their beverage. The doors to the passageways between cars are usually closed while the train is moving, so the vendors are normally limited to just one car in between stops.

                                I saw one vendor jump from the outer door with his urn in one hand, catching the door pole on the car behind with his other hand and swinging himself in. All while the train was going 50 mph.
