That crescent moon looks pretty easy to deal with.

Faith in atheism or scientism is still faith!

And the award for dumb comment of the week goes to.... drum roll

I still think I'm right. People accept atheism and science as dogma blindly just like religious types accept scripture. It's not as common, since both atheism and science are based on questioning beliefs, but the human mind is prone to confirmation bias and herd mentality, and that doesn't magically disappear when someone claims to be a skeptic.

It's like this. since no one can prove God exists, religions have faith he exists, but atheists can't have anything more than faith he doesn't exist. That's why we should be more agnostic than atheist. Being atheist is almost no better than being religious in the sense that we just deny God exists. I know the burden of proof is on religion but still... Just something else to think about. I know somebody is gonna totally school me right here haha and I welcome it!

Its not a simple line with atheism on one end, agnosticism in the middle and believer on the other. Its a two-way axis: atheist to theist in the x axis and gnostic to agnostic in the y axis. Here's a handy infographic, or read the FAQ for a LOT more information.

That was very helpful. Thank you.

A better rebuttal just occured to me: religion, anti-religion, measurement (science), and holistic practice are all explanations or methods to deal with a universe that continuously refuses to be pinned down by man's artifice. The only sure way to get a one-up on the universe is to abandon all past methods and let a new solution present itself. That's why all these arguments sound stale.

Funny, I was always taught that faith was the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen.

This is pretty cool. Idk where you got this but wouldn't it make a bit more sense if the key was science, logic, or reason and the final goal was atheism? Just a thought.
