Chows are notoriously loyal to very small numbers (sometimes only one). Of course there are always exceptions.

I work at a vet's office, chow comes in- instant muzzle. We almost always get snapped at if we don't.

I've had four chows and all of them have been protective and loving of the entire family. It's all about how you raise them and who is around when you do it and considering the chow is quite young too it will grow up with the kid.

Agreed. My great aunt has one that she never trained properly. You can't come within 5 feet of the thing if you want to keep a limb.

It's kind of mean that chows look so soft, cozy and huggable when there's the chance you'll get your face mauled off if you get too close. NOT FAIR

Always a shame to see a poorly trained dog but really I worry more about small dogs than any specific breed, they tend to be very anxious and jumpy and that inevitably leads to aggression.

Our past two dogs are/were chow mixes and they were always lovable and friendly, but chows are notorious for biting people and children, specifically those not on the family. People make such a big deal out of pits, but even as a fan of chow chows, I'd much prefer my children on the company of a pit than a chow.

I LOVE CHUBBY BABY ANIMALS. Humans are eh. It's such a cute pic. The pup is just so full of chub and fluff and cute and cute and also adorable and cute.
