WARNING: MOSTLY TOTAL FUCKING BULLSHIT.
It is definitely proved that you do NOT store everything you ever heard or saw in your life. That is utterly stupid, and completely wrong.
[–]Nisas 131 points132 points133 points 6 months ago
Came here to say this. Though not in as severe a manner. People don't store memories like we store a movie on a computer. We store a complex network of associations between ideas and when we go to recall a memory, we reconstruct it from our associations, filling in blanks where necessary. Memories easily degrade over time and are most certainly not "all in there somewhere."

With some exceptions

Hows come i can remeber every porno ive seen in detail but not math?
Because you were unfortunate enough not to have porn stars as your math teachers.
[–]ehnde 6 points7 points8 points 6 months ago
First world problems.
[–]Sit-Down_Comedian 3 points4 points5 points 6 months ago
I had a porn star math teacher. Dividing two to get pi was my favorite.
[–]daykid 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
UNfortunate???
[–]brivello 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
It is because you think about the pornos you've watched after you watch them. Math on the other hand...
[–]TJ___ 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
To continue with what mamjjasond pointed out...
For those with shorter memories, 60 minutes did a report on people with Total Memory Recall:
http://www.cbsnews.com/2100-18560_162-7156877.html
These people could remember almost everything from their entire life. Things like what was on TV before dinner on a specific date 20 years ago.
After learning about things such as total memory recall I would believe that it is possible that everything is still up there somewhere...
[–]FantomEx 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
I read somewhere that every time you remember something it alters the neurons responsible for storing the memory. Over time after many recalls, you could end up remembering details that never actually occurred.
[–]thedudedylan 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
hey that's cool i did not know that both of you were neuroscientist.
[–]colinsteadman 5 points6 points7 points 6 months ago
While I accept what you're saying, I have to wonder about the fidelity of dreams. I once dreampt about a wizard with a cloak made of a particular material. Some time later I saw a photo of myself taken years earlier, and I was wearing a shirt made of the exact same material. Somehow my brain had stored the exact likeness of some random shirt I had owned and used it in a dream. It's the only time I recall anything like this happening, and my memory is usually crap, but this one time the memory was quite vivid and remarkably accurate.
[–]Nisas 14 points15 points16 points 6 months ago
Remarkably accurate? There was a wizard and a cloak...
Somehow "I once had a dream where a wizard wore the same material as something I once wore." does not sound at all "accurate" to me.
[–]heerus 4 points5 points6 points 6 months ago
He was talking about the cloak, not the wizard.
[–]KernelKuster 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
This conversation was awesome. Kudos to both of you.
[–]acidreflux19 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
If there was something unique about that shirt - the way it looked or felt or whatever - then it makes sense that you'd remember that uniqueness. If there wasn't, then chances are pretty good that most, if not all, of the congruency between your dream and your memories of that shirt are the result of your brain patching up your memory of the dream, or wearing that shirt a long time ago, or both with general experiences of shirts and who-knows-what. It happens to people all the time with things that they'd swear up and down they remember exactly as they actually were.
[–]Caffeinated_Coyote 29 points30 points31 points 6 months ago
So glad this is the top comment.
Also "Everyone you've seen in a dream is someone you've seen in real life" is total shit. I gave this list a chance after the first obvious bullshit with remembering everything, but I stopped reading after the dream thing. My dreams make people up, no doubt. Sometimes they even have names.
This list is no better than the "fun facts" lists I used to come across years ago, that sounded almost believable until things like "every labrador dreams of bananas" would appear, destroying any credibility of anything on the page.
[–]ooNegativeONEoo 6 points7 points8 points 6 months ago
Yeah, this one made me narrow my eyes too. If my dreams have invented nightmarish creatures with deformed faces, I won't believe for a second that they can't come up with a brand new face of a normal human nature.
[–]Fushifuru 3 points4 points5 points 6 months ago
Yeah, I dreamed in CGI-style animation once, and I'm pretty sure I've never seen a CGI person in real life. I'm pretty sure I would remember that, especially since I remember everything I've ever seen, apparently.
[–]pirate_doug 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Edit: This level of dumbassery is only comparable to that of my own screen's size.
[–]joses317 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Besides, how do they even validate a claim like that? How can it be proven that the faces you see in your dreams are faces you've seen in real life? If that's true, then why can I see things (objects, animals) in my dreams that I've definitely never seen, and most likely don't even exist? So the rule must only apply to faces, and no other physical characteristics.
[–]BeethovenFanatic 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
I read somewhere a long time ago that the actual fact is that everyone you see will somehow manifest themselves into your dream (even if you don't know them and have to make up a name for them while dreaming), but not everyone in your dream is someone you've seen.
[–]YouShallNotPassDifEq 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
If this had in fact been true, I would be out there looking for her. Guys (or girls), you know who I'm talking about. That one girl that you fall in love with, spend a whole lifetime with, only to wake up from your dream and realize she isn't real. Feelsbadman
[–]GreggoryBasore 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
That one jumped out me with a "how the fuck can someone even begin to verify a claim like that?"
[–]DefinitelyRelephant 24 points25 points26 points 6 months ago
There are like 4 people on the planet who have crystal-clear recall.
But yes, normally you don't see that at all.
Also:
YOU COULD REPOPULATE THE PLANET IN 6 MONTHS
False. It would take 9 months to repopulate the planet.
[–]SakabaShogun 5 points6 points7 points 6 months ago
9 months minimum
That one guy alone would have to know up quite a few women to repopulate the entire earth. Hell, traveling across the globe, and sleeping with all the women would probably take longer than 9 months.
[–]larpas 8 points9 points10 points 6 months ago
Challenge accepted.
[–]henhouse0 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
I believe they hinting at the millions of sperm cells you have during a specific time period. If it were possible to send one to every woman, yes, that would be right is what they're getting at. Not taking the time to sleep with every woman individually and release millions into each one... Not sure if you didn't get that... or you're being facetious.
[–]1zero2two8eight 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
I think this is more to the account of how much sperm your body produces, not how long it would take you to bang 3.5 billion women.
[–]onewoodee 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Actually, 10. Pregnancy lasts 40 weeks.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Not really though, the 40 weeks starts counting at the first day of the woman's most recent period, which is typically about 2 weeks before conception. So 38 weeks if you want to be pedantic. Which I do. :)
[–]hitandmiss 41 points42 points43 points 6 months ago
As well as the fact that RAM is Random Access Memory, not physical memory... throwing out the word RAM sounds fancy, but this whole thing is jargony BS.
[–]AerialAmphibian 29 points30 points31 points 6 months ago
Actually RAM counts as physical memory (as opposed to virtual). Their mistake is to compare memory to long-term storage, like disk, which is typically much larger.
[–]hitandmiss 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Ah, see, I knew I was missing something. Using mah words incorrectly. So, RAM = short term memory. HDD = long term memory.

Thank you. This is one of the stupidest fucking things on the internet.
[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 6 months ago
Warning: most of the most critical parts of your body, particularly your heart and your brain, have a very limited ability to regenerate themselves. If every cell in your body could replace itself at will, modern medicine would be out of business. Also not true: men do indeed have very large numbers of sperm in their testes at any one time, and can make a basically infinite amount, but they have to use several million at the same time. Also, reproduction is time limited, both in the sense that it would take probably 30 minutes to an hour, on average, per "reproduction," and 9 months after that for anyone to be born.
[–]Karter705 4 points5 points6 points 6 months ago
I was watching a TED Talk with Richard Dawkins and he brings up this Steve Grand quote:
Consider yourself. I want you to imagine a scene from your childhood. Pick something evocative... Something you can remember clearly, something you can see, feel, maybe even smell, as if you were really there. After all, you really were there at the time, weren't you? How else would you remember it? But here is the bombshell: you WEREN'T there. Not a single atom that is in your body today was there when that event took place. Every bit of you has been replaced many times over... The point is that you are like a cloud: something that persists over long periods, whilse simultaneously being in flux. Matter flows from place to place and momentarily comes together to be you. Whatever you are, therefore, you are not the stuff of which you are made.”
Is this not true? I liked that quote a lot :(
[–]liam_lifad 4 points5 points6 points 6 months ago
The atoms that make up your cells have changed and replaced, but not the cells themselves.
I'm no physicist, so I can't say whether or not the individual atoms that make up your cells are the same (although I would imagine there's probably a high turnover). What I meant is, that if you start classifying cells according to their place in the cell cycle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cell_cycle), you find that most cells die and are replaced pretty frequently. However, some cells have a stable enough environment that they exit the cell cycle and stop dividing. Sometimes these cells can start dividing again, although for the most part they don't. Unfortunately, these kinds of cells often make up very important organs, like heart muscle cells or the neurons in the brain. Or, put another way, the neurons you have you're 25 or so are probably all the neurons that you're going to get.
[–]Karter705 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago*
Thanks! That makes sense -- kind of sad the image didn't just say 'atoms' instead of 'cells,' though, since it seems like it would have been pretty much correct (or at least more correct); the concept itself is pretty cool. I think I'm going to do some research and see how long it would actually take for every atom in your body to be replaced.
Edit: About a year, according to research done in the 50s by Dr. Paul C. Aebersold:
Tracer studies show that the atomic turnover in our bodies is quite rapid and quite complete. For example, in a week or two half of the sodium atoms that are now in our bodies will be replaced by other sodium atoms. The case is similar for hydrogen and phosphorus. Even half of the carbon atoms will be replaced in a month or two. And so the story goes for nearly all the elements. Indeed, it has been shown that in a year approximately 98 percent of the atoms in us now will be replaced by other atoms that we take in in our air, food, and drink.
[–]antisyzygy 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Most men would start shooting blanks after the third or fourth time. You could do some good work in your life, impregnating probably a handful of women a week, but it wouldn't repopulate the world to this level if there was some catastrophe.
[–]Ariedonus 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago

[–]TheJayP 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago

[–]Ihategeeks 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
When you typed that statement, that Ram is not storage, the input from your keyboard was stored in a buffer, this buffer resides on the ram.
I'd classify the human mind as ram , if you turn it off you lose all the data.

[–]DarwinDanger 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago*
This is correct, and the other statements are hyperbolic to say the least.
Glad there are several people here willing to call bullshit on this stuff.
[–]robreim 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Thank you. I came to the comments specifically in hopes of finding the cries of "bullshit!". I am not dissappoint.
[–]StoryGopher 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Yea! And 70% of the people I dream of don't have faces! So I can't have seen them in real life! And another 10% of people are me but I don't realize I was interacting with another me until I wake up and think about it! Once I hid for my life with 9 me's each in a different vibrantly coloured shirt! Aquamarine fell off the roof of the house like mufasa in the lion king and died! Why are we Yelling!?
[–]ArrowSalad 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Not only that, but RAM and the amount of information something can hold is completely different. This basically compared the "hard drive" of the brain, estimated at 1000 terabytes to 16 terabytes of RAM in a supercomputer (which is a fucking RIDICULOUS amount). It would be more accurate to compare RAM to the brain's short term memory, and the brain sure has no where near 16 terabytes worth of short term memory.
[–]drakegaming 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Probably half of these are wrong. Not posting sources, use google :P
[–]ShouldBeZZZ 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
Exactly what I came here to say
[–]Fletch71011 111 points112 points113 points 6 months ago
I'm skeptical of some of these claims. How can they prove the dream one? Sure, it could be an amalgamation of people you have seen throughout your life, but with the insane number of people you have likely seen while dreaming, I don't think this is verifiable.
[–]squidesquide 33 points34 points35 points 6 months ago
Not to mention that the first one, right off the bat, is total fucking bullshit. Also, see M0b1u5's comment on how it's mostly total fucking bullshit.
[–]Quazifuji 14 points15 points16 points 6 months ago
Also, hair can easily be cut by scissors.
[–]monkeedude1212 22 points23 points24 points 6 months ago
You should be skeptical of all of them. Most of them are BS.
Especially the dream one, there's no reason for that to be true, and for those of us who can dream lucidly, it's very easy to conjure up a face much like a Caricature, which is not a face we've seen in the real world.
But also, its proven that you don't remember everything in your whole life, and also, memory is actually unreliable. Memories can be changed. You think you saw a blue car and you think that you did enough that eventually your memory is of a blue car, but in reality, it was teal. That kind of stuff.
Oh, and I also love the "The amount of information your brain can hold IS BELIEVED TO BE 1000 terabytes" Wait, believed by whom? A total retard?
[–]1d3333 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Exactly, the brain my be able to hold alot of information but really? It's not a fucking computer, computers are way different from the brain on a number of levels.
[–]Telelia 8 points9 points10 points 6 months ago
I came here to comment on the dream as well- for one its complete bullshit because as an artist you can create people who you'll never see in life.
[–]usesunblock 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
The dream one is when I knew it had to be BS. If that's true, I've been abducted by at least 10 different extraterrestrials. Pretty sure I didn't see them walking down the street.
[–]PoniesRBitchin 4 points5 points6 points 6 months ago
If I've seen everyone in real life that I've seen in a dream, then at some point in my life I've seen a cloaked half-bat monster man surrounded by a cloud of hornets who can move completely silently, except for the threatening buzz that slowly gets louder as he approaches. So ... watch out for that when you're walking alone at night, because apparently he's completely real.
[–]kwassa1 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago

[–]watermusic 48 points49 points50 points 6 months ago*
I am inordinately annoyed that this compares the storage capacity of the human brain to RAM. For those of you who don't know, long term memory is more comparable to a hard drive, whereas working memory is more comparable to RAM. Obviously this is a simplification, but it's a pretty decent one.
And frankly, I don't think that this computer had 16 terabytes of RAM. I don't think we have the hardware to make that happen right now. That was probably it's hard drive size.
Fail on multiple levels. And I'm not even touching the non-original content issue.
Edit: Thanks for the info folks! Brains are more my speciality than computers.
[–]prism1234 18 points19 points20 points 6 months ago
Watson did have 16 TB of ram.
Modern supercomputers are essentially just a large amount of regular computers connected together. They contain hundreds of CPUs so its not unreasonable that they would also have hundreds of RAM modules.
[–]davorzdralo 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Still, that would be 16.000 of 1 GB RAM modules. It sounds ridiculous. But I did a search, and yes, the number is correct. Also this:
the content was stored in Watson's RAM for the game because data stored on hard drives are too slow to access.
So, they kept 'his' entire knowledge base on RAM to increase access time. Wicked :D
[–]pineappleassortment 3 points4 points5 points 6 months ago
I would wager that the modules are 4 or 8GB. Even just buying retail desktop parts, I haven't even seen a 1GB module for years.
That is still a crazy amount of modules though.
[–]Azara1th 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
or 1,000 16GB RAM modules: Le Giant RAM Module
[–]rasputine 6 points7 points8 points 6 months ago
WATSON wasn't a single desktop computer, watson was a bank of top-end servers. 16 terrabytes of RAM is not unreasonable.
[–]NazzerDawk 4 points5 points6 points 6 months ago
I work for Dell as an enterprise engineer, and I can vouch that a fully stocked R910 can have up to 1TB itself. And that's just a server, not a super-computer. Just thought that was relevant to some degree.
[–]ArtemisMaximus 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Came here to say this. the whole thing is full of fail. Also, 1 petabyte seems too much. I remember reading somewhere that our brain can hold 3 terabytes.
Hardware exists, Operating systems that can address 16TB exist, the question is whether watson had it...given their budget i wouldnt be suprised.
[–]Bryaxis 21 points22 points23 points 6 months ago*
I don't believe the one about a whole new body every seven years. Mature neurons aren't that great at dividing, for one thing. Plus, the same list says it only takes four years to shed your weight in skin cells. Also, it says that your body produced 300 billion new cells today; that's nearly a third of the number of (human) cells in a human body.
This isn't even "citation needed". This is "three things on this list contradict one another".
EDIT: And since when is hair nearly indestructible? Is Nair just a placebo?
[–]ashfox 3 points4 points5 points 6 months ago
The 'new body' thing is just worded stupidly. It's the same as "your taste buds change every 7 years."
[–]thejmonster 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
You can shed your entire weight in cells without replacing every cell to get a new body. Just pointing that out. Its still probably bullshit.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago*
I think it's the atoms/molecules that are constantly changing. They are slowly replaced... This is where your glial cells in your brain come in, they give nutrition to your neurons while slowly replacing all the molecules in each neuron one at a time. So on and so fourth for the rest of the body.
It's just like the lipids in all your cell membranes. If your body didn't cycle through nutrition, you'd never have to eat... That's why nutrition is so important, so that your body can efficiently and accurately replace these dying cells or just changing molecules. As for the lipids in cell membranes, this is the main reason why fat is required in everyone's diet... Intake of lipids, and carbohydrates among other molecules that make up cells are just as important as the water that you drink everyday.
So yes, I can believe this one.
However the other ones are BS, like the eye and legs... That's definitely not true, your legs use more ATP in their muscles just staying alive than your eyes do while moving.
Here are some fun facts though: with a proper diet, on average 70% of the calories you consume per day go to ATP and just keeping your cells functioning, that's not even including exercising.
Also if you multiply all of the possible neural connections in your brain, there are more POSSIBLE(not actual) connections within your brain than there are atoms in the entire universe. This is using the reasoning that one neuron on one side of your brain can connect with a neuron on the other side(not possible), so this is just taking all the neurons you have and multiplying them all together. Between two single neurons there are thousands of possible connections, so when you start taking 10 neurons the numbers are already huge, then add that to all the millions of neurons in your brain and it's more than there are atoms in the entire universe

Most is probably nonsense - for sure the one about "a completely different body in seven years". Check /r/askscience
[–]jfadz 5 points6 points7 points 6 months ago
Yeah, its a false claim. This is true for some cells (you replace all your red blood cells every 180 days), but the neurons in your brain and throughout your body are the same ones as when you were born. Some of them die, yes, and others do grow new, but for the most part your brain is composed of the same neurons you were born with.

[–]the--dud 3 points4 points5 points 6 months ago
"It would take you 6 months to repopulate the entire planet". Hmm interesting...
7 billion people. 6 months equals roughly 262974 minutes... Divide...
You'd have to impregnate 26 618 women every minute!
Further; random googling gives me a totally unreliable "fact" that there's a 2.5% chance of sex leading to impregnation so that would increase it to:
You have to have sex roughly 1 064 742 times per minute*!

Right after reading this i ask ANYONE and EVERYONE because i am confused.

[–]theconnorparty 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
What does this have to do with atheism?
[–]ReyTheRed 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
Some of those facts aren't actually right. You can't remember everything that has ever happened to you. Most of your sensory memory is discarded pretty much immediately, and even what makes it into working memory doesn't necessarily make it into long term memory.
Also, I'm not sure about the dreams thing either. You may put together composites of people you have seen.
[–]Jamotron 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
Who upvotes this garbage? It's wrong in the opening sentence!
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
Has any or all of that stuff been fact-checked or is it just one of those silly email forward type things? It's alright if some of it is oversimplified but I suspect some of it is just completely made up out of thin air like the 8 spiders eaten per year thing.
I wonder if this was posted just to see how skeptical /r/atheism really is
[–]onegirlwolfpack 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
False. The human gestation period is 9 months so you could not possibly repopulate the world in 6 months...
[–]Italian_Barrel_Roll 4 points5 points6 points 6 months ago
Even more impressive is the number of times this has been forwarded and posted around the net!
[–]FaerieFreak 4 points5 points6 points 6 months ago

[–]FamousAussie 5 points6 points7 points 6 months ago

[–]what_up_hater 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago

[–]psykedelic 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
False, RAM and hard drive space are different things.
[–]Lignoba 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
The human brain cannot really be compared to a computer anyways.
[–]stormbeta 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
I'm pretty damn sure the first one is false outside of special circumstances and savants.
Can't speak to the accuracy of the third one, but 1000TB is not that much, relatively speaking. Sure, it's considerably more than most people have in their home computers, but it's comparable to the size of data used by even small to mid-sized data centers.
Fourth one is unprovable/not scientific.
Sixth one: According to what metric?
Eleventh must be talking about nerve signal time
I'm not sure what twelve is trying to say, but I do know that the tensile strength of human hair is fairly weak.
All of them are missing metrics/qualifications that would make them actually mean much, so I'm going to go with this is mostly bullshit.
[–]DiesIstNichtEnglisch 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
There's a HUGE DIFFERENCE between storage space and RAM.
RAM (Random Access Memory) is for storing read/write data for the CPU. When you shut off the computer, everything in the RAM disappears because it's volatile. When you turn the computer back on, the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System, the boot firmware) reads the operating system and loads it into memory.
Storage space is for (obviously) storing files permanently, until said data is erased or changed.
So you can't really compare storage space to Watson's RAM, because they're not the same thing.
Also, this is almost completely total bullshit.
[–]roguemenace 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
"You have a completely new body after 7 years"
Umm.. NO, yu don't make new brain cells after birth so that definately the same.
[–]CrissBlackHawk 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
If your body changes completely every 7 years, how do you keep tattoos and scars?
[–]hacksoncode 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
That's actually a really interesting thing... turns out your body has a mechanism for "encapsulating" foreign bodies so they don't mess you up, and the ink particles in tattoos are one of the things that gets encapsulated and bypassed by most of your other biological functions.
[–]rasta_lion 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Bullshit. It wouldn't take 6 months to repopulate the earth. A baby isn't born for at least 9 months after fertilization ;)

[–]buttonforest 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
I find it hard, if not impossible, to believe that all of the people in my dreams are real people or that there is some way to actually prove this. Also in terms of cell replications to make you an entirely new person, my brain cells can confirm this is wrong.

[–]TheLeapIsALie 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Comparing human storage space to computer RAM ಠ_ಠ. Seriously!? That's like saying a 200 GB hard drive is better than a 4 GB stick of RAM. They are completely different things
[–]rahtin 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
There's no way to prove that we haven't created faces in our dreams. And the storage idea is also a fabrication.
This is muff cabbage.

Not relevant to /r/atheism, much much more relevant to /r/skeptic.
[–]im237 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago

[–]timeless1991 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Beyond the obvious inaccuracies I fail to understand the relevance to atheism. If I attach "look at the wonders of God's creation" to the end, it fits neatly into religion. At best this should go into science, but the incirrect facts destroies that opportu.ity.
[–]elvisliveson 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago

[–]zuperzaimee 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago
Somebody may have already pointed it out but: It is not possible to have turned over every cell in your body in 7 years time, because not every cell in your body undergoes mitotic division after you are born. My personal interest and field of the study the heart for one example: Myocardial cells (the muscle cells of your heart) never undergo mitotic division after you are born, they can only hypertrophy "grow fatter" in attempts to adapt.
I don't want to be mean so... your poster had nice colours... :D

[–]Davess198 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
lol, I'm colour blind. I can barely read half of them. :( From what i could read, I'm skeptical of some of those facts.
[–]I_Hope_So 2 points3 points4 points 6 months ago
I'm not colour blind, but putting very pale yellow on a white background is simply stupid.
[–]Wamoz56 0 points1 point2 points 6 months ago
To me, all of that is nowhere near as extraordinary as the fact that we have been able to figure all this out (all of this that isn't bullshit, that is. Bullshitting for no reason besides karma is an extraordinary and uniquely human phenomenon as well, but it isn't quite as inspiring.)

I'm going to ignore the fact that a bunch of these are false statements. I think the main idea of this is just that the human body is pretty amazing in certain ways, and I agree with that, even if some of the facts cited here are wrong.
