Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

2011 NLDS with the Milwaukee Brewers hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks

[–]Uranus_Hz 75 points76 points ago

As a Brewer fan, I approve this message.

[–]Loki_SW[S] 24 points25 points ago*

As a Dbacks fan, I disapprove of your approval :)

[–]iraqsauce 76 points77 points ago

As an Astros fan, I'm going to just stfu for the next 2-3 decades.

[–]Vague_Intentions 7 points8 points ago

Goddammit. I was trying to forget that the Astros even existed. Thanks a lot jerk.

I'll be wallowing in the misery that has been Houston sports for the last 5 or so years. (Well, the Texans were good last year, but the Astros have sucked, and the Rockets are stuck in basketball purgatory)

[–]jebuschrast 4 points5 points ago

GO AEROS!

[–]DoctaWorm 2 points3 points ago

Yay St.Louis! We got the World Series with the Cardinals and we have the Blues hockey team in the playoffs for the Stanley Cup! But you can go ahead and take our football team, we don't want them anymore.

[–]detroitfan4life86 0 points1 point ago

Live in Detroit but I've been a St. Louis fan all my life (Primarily the Blues and Rams)................Either way, I hate you for saying that about the Rams :P

**Edit, spelling and such

[–]DoctaWorm 1 point2 points ago

I live in St.Louis, I was never a Rams fan, but I was a Warner fan. Greatest guy ever and the Rams were stupid for letting him go.

[–]whodeyraider 1 point2 points ago

Have you all forgot about the Dynamo?

[–]jinx21182 0 points1 point ago

And that was before the Rockets hired Mchale....

[–]Denihilist 0 points1 point ago

Misery? You want misery? I give you the Kansas City Royals, the one stop shop for free wins in the MLB!

[–]mutebychoice 2 points3 points ago

Royals are improving and have a talented young core

[–]NuttyNougat 1 point2 points ago

Royals, motherfucker? How about the Seattle goddamn Mariners? Just gave up the 21st perfect game in MLB history, never even been to the World Series.

[–]anthony955 0 points1 point ago

Just wait until Charlotte decides to enter the MLB.

[–]mutebychoice 0 points1 point ago

You do realize the Astros were playing in the world series less than ten years ago right? You could be worse, cubs fans, royals fans, shit man, there's a lot of teams that have had less success than Houston lately, maybe not the past while but still. Go stros!

[–]Vague_Intentions 0 points1 point ago

That's why I said "in the last 5 or so years". The 'Stros went to the WS in '06.

[–]llo564 1 point2 points ago

Nope. One year off. Cards won the WS in '06.

[–]mutebychoice 0 points1 point ago

05, year the white sox won

[–]ProfProphet713 0 points1 point ago

Kind of. We kind of went to the WS in '05. We were physically there. Kind of.

[–]Vague_Intentions 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, that was a pretty lopsided series. The Sox were really good that year though, and I definitely didn't expect us to make the WS so I was happy.

[–]fuckyeahamurca 13 points14 points ago

As a Cardinals fan, I've been pretty happy for a while.

[–]mstank11 3 points4 points ago

As a Yankees fan, I'm always smug and happy.

[–]lksd 14 points15 points ago

As an Orioles fan, you can shove it.

[–]Naternaut 11 points12 points ago

As a non-Yankees fan, I agree.

[–]RumBox 1 point2 points ago

As a Red Sox fan, fahhk you.

[–]SKSmokes -1 points0 points ago

As a Cubs fan I ask you if you've even been happy the last two games?

[–]rstuckmaier 10 points11 points ago

As a White Sox fan I ask you if you've even been happy the last 104 years.

[–]fuckyeahamurca 15 points16 points ago

As a Cardinals fan, our eleven championships since you last had one make me pretty happy.

[–]bdubyageo 6 points7 points ago

As a geologist, I think that this photo rocks!

[–]Lordlypuma 4 points5 points ago

As a fellow cardinals fan I would like to give you a high five.

[–]fucksmith 2 points3 points ago

Have you seen the standings?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

As a Pirates fan, I've been shutting the f up for the past 2-3 decades and will continue for the next 2-3 more

[–]iraqsauce 0 points1 point ago

hah! Brothers of circumstance, you and I.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

I feel like if Pedro Alvarez were to suddenly disappear, I would feel much better about everything.

[–]fairwayks 1 point2 points ago

As a Royals fan, I stfu after 1985.

[–]Nish5115 0 points1 point ago

But the only thing Royals are remember for is George Brett and the Pine Tar

[–]fairwayks 0 points1 point ago

And Brett's hemorrhoids, no doubt. And the fact that he was the only person to receive the American League Batting Champion award for three decades in a row ('70s, '80s, and '90s).

[–]rockagainstemo 1 point2 points ago

As a Native Texan, have a upvote.

[–]Swordfish08 1 point2 points ago

As a Phillies fan, I'd like to have any players of yours that has decent talent. :P

[–]itismrnick 0 points1 point ago

As a Pirates fan, I'm right there with you.

[–]Hemmerly 0 points1 point ago

Dollar Dog Night is one of the best things in Pittsburgh.

[–]itismrnick 0 points1 point ago

I wouldn't know because I've lived all 17 years of my life in Raleigh. It was just unfortunate that I love baseball and my Dad was from Pittsburgh. haha

[–]Hemmerly 0 points1 point ago

All of the heartbreak without any of the reward. I am so sorry.

[–]umaro900 0 points1 point ago

GO CUBS!

[–]xxNEWNEOxx 0 points1 point ago

when you say Astros, dont you mean Lastros?

[–]iraqsauce 1 point2 points ago

okayguy.jpeg yes... yes I do.

[–]iraqsauce 0 points1 point ago

I found it funny how the Google ad guy that one a million bucks by pitching a perfect game last year? Yeah- totally did it against 'the worst offense in baseball'. Astros :(

[–]Toastar_888 -1 points0 points ago

FUCKING JIM FUCKING CRANE AND FUCKING MLB,

2-3 Decades is FUCKING right. Fuck the American League. Pussy no hitting pitchers.

[–]mutebychoice -3 points-2 points ago

Why the fuck do you want to watch a pitcher hit, do you watch the wnba because you like fundamentals? Nobody wants bunts and strikeouts, we want the fucking longball!

[–]Toastar_888 0 points1 point ago

Because nothing is more exciting then watching a pitcher hit a Home Run

Wandy Bats switch pretty much at the Mendoza Line.

Also.... April 12, 1980... Nolan Ryan hit a home run in the dome, in a game that went 17 innings.... Never would have happened in the AL.

[–]mutebychoice 0 points1 point ago

I agree it's badass but it's a novelty, it's cool strictly because he's a pitcher, not that I don't like the nl, I just cringe watching pitchers hit, i pray they don't get on base and have to run. Though Mariano Rivera and his 1 career RBI is an interesting scenario

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

This might be the best argument to anything i have EVER seen!

[–]rammajamma56 1 point2 points ago

as a Braves fan, at least yall got there

[–]amjhwk 0 points1 point ago

as a dbacks fan, i thought that was the BOB for a second when i first saw the photo

[–]Battle_Sheep -1 points0 points ago

As a Cubs fan I approve of your disapprove of previous approval.

[–]vernonpost 1 point2 points ago

As a Cardinals fan, lmaoooooooo

[–]Snufffaluffaguss 1 point2 points ago

As a Brewers fan, I second your approval.

[–]buckygrad 0 points1 point ago

As another Brewer fan, I approve of your approval.

[–]simplyxstatic 4 points5 points ago

I was there! I was hit with a foul ball....but I got it!

[–]Nadie_AZ 1 point2 points ago

I saw Prince and wondered. Cooooool. Good job.

[–]tnick771 4 points5 points ago

Been to that stadium many times. I love it.

[–]bananahandpanda 30 points31 points ago

As a Twins fan living in Minnesota, having spent an entire 3 day weekend last year watching the brewers destroy the twins at this stadium and being completely wasted all 3 days... Have an upvote. For Wisconsin.

[–]sbrylski 5 points6 points ago

As a Brewers fan living in Minneapolis, your stadium rocks. Twins are quickly becoming team 1b.

[–]Glaphnoo 4 points5 points ago

I agree, as a Brewers fan living in La Crosse, Target Field is really nice! Attending the may 19th series!!!

[–]tenehemia 2 points3 points ago

Hell yeah. The Twins are terrible this year and I still want to go to games. Mission accomplished, Target Field.

[–]that_guy82 38 points39 points ago

Gotta love Miller Park.

[–]jasonfwi 28 points29 points ago

I love miller park!

[–]Scuttlebutt91 10 points11 points ago

This shot made me want to watch baseball again. I begrudgingly give you an upvote and change my wallpaper.

[–]Dubyaz 10 points11 points ago

This picture was taken by a redditor a while back and now you are resposting it. I hope it was you but probably not. Correct me if i am wrong.

[–]chad0007 17 points18 points ago

Go Brewers!

[–]ydoug 4 points5 points ago

I am more than willing to put this as my wallpaper after a few adjustments are made of course

[–]maxfoley 5 points6 points ago

Miller Park is absolutely amazing.

[–]theplatypusmaster 7 points8 points ago

Best sport there is.

[–]TheAdoringFan 2 points3 points ago

What's the capacity of that place?

[–]that_guy82 17 points18 points ago

A little over 40,000. Probably my favorite park to watch baseball at (been to a little over a dozen parks). The real treat is the tailgating scene in the parking lot... Wisconsin loves to tailgate.

[–]The_Dingman 14 points15 points ago

Tailgating at Miller Park is nothing compared to a football game at Lambeau.

[–]that_guy82 6 points7 points ago

Very true. Lived in Milwaukee for 5 years and did all the great events: Green Bay vs Minnesota @ Lambeau, OSU vs UW @ Randall, and Cubs vs Brew Crew @ Miller.

[–]Snufffaluffaguss 3 points4 points ago

I went to the last game of the regular season in 2008 when the Brewers beat the Cubs for the wildcard spot in the playoffs. To this day was the best sporting event experience in my life.

[–]tintin47 2 points3 points ago

Yeah, but there are only 8 Packers games/year compared to 82 brewers games. Plus, it is fucking cold for a lot of the Packers games.

[–]TheAdoringFan 4 points5 points ago

Whoa, bigger than I thought, I always imagined baseball parks to be fairly small compared to football stadiums. 40,000 is about the capacity for my football team's ground and that's fairly big for a football ground, is this one of the larger parks in the US?

[–]Sark0zy 7 points8 points ago

By football I'm assuming you mean soccer. We have American football stadiums that routinely hold 100K+ every Saturday in the fall.

http://tour.ua.edu/images/tourintpics/stadium_3.jpg

http://ncaastadiumsounds.com/img/pics/michigan_stadium.jpg

http://tnjn.com/content/storyimage/2009/09/02/Neyland_Stadium.box.jpg

http://www.sportsposterwarehouse.com/catImages/gamecocks06sp-1.jpg

The kicker? Those are all COLLEGE stadiums. Professional football stadiums are usually smaller and in the 60-80K seat range.

[–]TheAdoringFan 3 points4 points ago

So everything IS bigger in America!

[–]dreadredheadzedsdead 1 point2 points ago*

Michigan Uni's stadium is actually the third largest in the world after the renovations. Behind Rungrado May Day Stadium in North Korea and Salt Lake Stadium in India.

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_stadiums_by_capacity

[–]GoogleTrypophobia 1 point2 points ago

As far as I'm concerned this is the real list. Go Indy!

[–]dreadredheadzedsdead 0 points1 point ago

Huh, I never even considered race tracks. Thanks for the link!

[–]dryersheets 1 point2 points ago

you definitely forgot my favorite, Beaver Stadium at Penn State

[–]Mr-Lahey 4 points5 points ago

Most of the baseball parks in the US are about 38,000-50,000. The old brewers stadium had a capacity of about 54,000.

[–]amjhwk 0 points1 point ago

you serious? 40k is large for baseball, tiny for football football ranges from 70k to 100k seats

[–]Phoenix31a 0 points1 point ago

That we do, friend. That we do.

[–]that_guy82 0 points1 point ago

The boys in the lot south of 94 especially.

[–]Hoernes 2 points3 points ago

That was the very first stunning picture I saw on reddit.

[–]Fulcan 2 points3 points ago

What a beautiful photo. I set it as my desktop background :) Cheers!

[–]SinCleansingPenis 2 points3 points ago

The thumbnail looked like a rail of coke on my phone so I upvoted.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points ago

Fuck yeah Miller Park!

[–]TrFessler 2 points3 points ago

Yeahhhhh. Brewers represent!

[–]Ofreo 2 points3 points ago

I was just there Monday night. I love going to Miller Park. But for sure, the game is always better when the roof is open, but if bad weather, at least it isn't postponed, so I'll take the roof. I really don't care what others think of baseball, I enjoy it and will continue to watch.

[–]skucera 4 points5 points ago

Baseball should be played outside.

[–]Snufffaluffaguss 0 points1 point ago

Really. . .really? I have experienced outdoor football at Lambeau Field and although it was an amazing experience, it was also god damn miserable. I had frostbite on my ass from the stadium seats, and truly enjoyed drinking my beer that had become a slushie from all the snow that had fallen into it.
Did I mention the date I attended? First week of December. In Wisconsin we have been known to have major snow storms as last as April, and even May (when I say major I mean 6+ inches). This makes the roof a necessity.

[–]skucera 1 point2 points ago

Baseball is a "Spring" sport. It is a moderately-paced game, played in a (ball)park, and is really more about the experience than the action. It gets delayed for rain, and should never encounter snow. Your football woes have no pertinence to baseball; it's a completely different animal.

That being said, I enjoy the "man versus nature" battle of those old NFL Films games of the snow bowls and ice bowls of yesteryear. I can't imagine that those would be fun to watch from the stands, though.

[–]bee-wolf 1 point2 points ago

Fucking. Wow. What a great picture. Who took it? OP?

[–]ThunderMethTiger 1 point2 points ago

It was in Sports Illustrated a few weeks ago.

[–]bee-wolf 0 points1 point ago

Ah. Thanks!

[–]Bencool 1 point2 points ago

The shadows in that park suck so hard.

[–]hegz0603 1 point2 points ago

  1. Repost

  2. Miller Park

[–]VTJP 1 point2 points ago

Holy shit I hate baseball but this is incredible.

[–]titsmcghee13 1 point2 points ago

Go expos! Oh shit..

[–]mutebychoice 3 points4 points ago

The expos did go, to Washington...

[–]Hunter5Thompson 1 point2 points ago

American love. American pride. American ingenuity..... I love this game

[–]cursinginbraille 1 point2 points ago

YOUR MUM IS THE NATIONAL PASTIME.

[–]MisterMcFancyPants 2 points3 points ago

Baseball is only dull to dull minds

[–]DishwasherTwig 3 points4 points ago

I'm not exactly the biggest fan of sports in general, but even I have to admit this is a pretty awesome picture.

[–]Clyzm -1 points0 points ago

Yeah same here. I don't care for sports, but I do amateur photography. I love this shot.

[–]Goats_In_Trees 1 point2 points ago

This was posted to /r/sportsporn 4 months ago...

[–]almightyzam 0 points1 point ago

How nice of Loxi_SW to share it with those of us who hadn't seen it the first time.

[–]Amsteah52 0 points1 point ago

with bats of ash and hickory...

[–]larrykins 0 points1 point ago

Playing outfield with shadows like that...fuck me...

[–]amjhwk 0 points1 point ago

maybe in the 1930 it was the national pastime, tv has definiatly usurped that title along time ago

[–]elmronse 0 points1 point ago

this photo makes me wish I liked baseball. (I just about wrote basketball)

[–]toxicsnicker 0 points1 point ago

For some reason I thought this was a picture of a Freddie Mercury concert...

[–]ineffablePMR 0 points1 point ago

This is an amazing photo. Also shoutouts to Canada. Go Blue Jays

[–]well_i_guess 0 points1 point ago

This isn't a picture of a football game...

[–]griesuschrist 0 points1 point ago

Love the Brew Crew. WI sports for liiiiife.

[–]Kabo0se 0 points1 point ago

I've got a cool pick of the park I took with my phone last I was there, here it is

[–]DopestDopedOutDoper 0 points1 point ago

Brew Crew <3

[–]newbi1kenobi 0 points1 point ago

One of the nicest ball parks in may opinion.

[–]Lalli-Oni 0 points1 point ago

National Pastime played in the World Series (no it's not named after a newspaper, that's an urban myth).

[–]dhatella 0 points1 point ago

easily one of the top 3 nicest parks in the league. absolutely love going there. go crew!

[–]Sabrick 0 points1 point ago

Oh Baseball, our nationa... ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz.....

[–]stinkyhat 0 points1 point ago

Hey, Miller Park! Right on.

[–]PaxSweatpants 0 points1 point ago

not adequate lighting, that is a safety hazard...

[–]_insanelogic_ 0 points1 point ago

yeah in your nation.

[–]CoolMcDouche 0 points1 point ago

Miller Park is truly an amazing experience. It's a shame I always find myself in TGI Fridays drinking long islands more often than my actual seat.

[–]darthbone 0 points1 point ago

only like the 10th time this pic has been posted.

[–]Niyeaux 0 points1 point ago

What the hell kind of hockey are these guys playing?

[–]FourteenHatch -1 points0 points ago

Baseball is a game designed from the ground up to be a boring-ass shitfest.

There's a reason there's a law making it our national pastime.

[–]Gigranto -1 points0 points ago

Almost makes me wish baseball weren't so boring.

[–]Mulengro -1 points0 points ago

This is, without a doubt, the most attractive baseball has ever looked to me.

[–]poi25 0 points1 point ago

I've always liked the line in Ernie Harwell's Hall of Fame speech where he says, "In baseball, democracy shines its clearest. The only race that matters is the race to the bag. The creed is the rule book. Color merely something to distinguish one team's uniform from another." That's when baseball looks the most attractive in my opinion

[–]tintin47 -1 points0 points ago

Man, Miller Park is terrible for baseball during afternoon games but it lends itself to some beautiful pictures.

[–]kwirky88 -4 points-3 points ago

Judging from the size of the industry I thought this was the USA's national past time.

[–]BarcodeNinja -4 points-3 points ago

Watching grown men hit balls with sticks and paying to applaud them. We're a nation of dolts

[–]tronn4 -2 points-1 points ago

DOWNVOTE. This was up before

[–]mbleslie -2 points-1 points ago

Boring as hell

[–]MagCynic -2 points-1 points ago

Too bad baseball never recovered from the strike.

[–]ableom -2 points-1 points ago

Sleeping?

Only thing more boring to watch than baseball would be golf.

[–][deleted] ago

[–]T1K1 3 points4 points ago

The stadium wasn't even around then.

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]Mr-Lahey 5 points6 points ago

It's a retractable roof. It's pretty amazing and it's great going to the stadium knowing that there won't be a rain delay or postponed game.

[–]vynlwombat -3 points-2 points ago

I don't even like baseball...
