Edit: I mean I think it the first India episode. I know that is is the giant freshwater ray episode to which Switchsquatch and I are both referring.

Edit 2: It is in Thailand that the giant freshwater ray episode takes place. The first India episode is with the Goonch, a longtime known maneater. It is unfortunately not available on Netflix.

I really like the respect and reverence he has for the fish, and his excitement. He is like a little kid when he lands one of those things. And then he stays with it to make sure it can swim away under it's own power, even if he's putting himself in danger of crocs. Class act.

Yea I used an inappropriate quote there. he does do a lot of research, as does Bear. But IMO he does a lot of risky stuff a la Grylls. For eg. when he used himself as bait for those eels, or when he got in the pen with the (I think) alligator gar. I was just saying he did unnecessary stuff when it came to capturing the fish, but it was all to show the viewer what the fish was capable of.

No, but they have been known to attack prey as a group in much the same way that piranhas would. Just imagine a group of juveniles about 18 inches long, attacking villagers in an overturned boat. Piranhas are like goldfish in comparison.

Jeremy Wade is awesome. I actually got a bit teary eyed when the Tigerfish he caught died infront of him due to it being hit by the rocks in the white waters. He seems to genuinely care about his craft and that is quite admirable. Any ideas on the new season if there is one?

He gave it to the villagers after it died. It bashed it's head during the struggle to reel it in, leading to it's death. Wade wanted to, and tried to release it, but it didn't survive.

I love the show, but not how he tries out out-deadly Deadliest Catch, as if every episode were the Python's "Fierce Creatures."

Today we are fishing for the guppy, a carniverous monster that is known to devour its own young. Guppies are known to eat their own weight in a month. My Kevlar gloves are all that stand between me and a vicious gumming.

I arrive to find the river full of dihydrogen monoxide. A deadly compound also found in the barren polar wastes of Mars, it has claimed countless human lives...
