Yes they started domesticating them in Russia, in like the 60s I believe. It's the only place you can get them, and yes sadly the price tag is near 8 grand :[

First off, this just isn't true. My cat gets to lay around all day, never worries about getting cold, starving, sickness, etc. Large amounts of dopamine are released when they are pet.

Secondly, domesticated foxes already exist.

I know my cat is not a wild animal, but every domesticated animal was wild at one point. Why should you never try to domesticate wild animals? There's no way to domesticate an animal that isn't wild.

Because it can have consequences in some cases. Such as people trying to make some marsupials pets. Many of them die simply of the stress. Or trying to domesticate large predators and ending up mauled. Not only that, but that animal has no place to go now. It's lived with humans too long to go back ino the wild and it's dangerous to live anywhere else.
