That kid knows no fear. I've seen him walk that same route for 25+ times now and everytime that same smile when he passed the girl twirling her chakram at full speed, like nothing happened and two seconds later he's going for another run.

The gif is of a girl twirling a hula hoop vertically as a little boy walks past. He passes through a large part of the area covered by the orbit of the hoop, avoiding being hit through sheer luck and possibly sorcery. The analogy is that making the front page requires a similar level of luck.

I don't mean to be doing that gif_explainer guy's thing, but I couldn't see him. I hope that helps.

Actually.... the Title for the post is rotating around. it doesn't seem universal. so i must have a plugin thats doing that. maybe even a Greasemonkey script.

Edit: Ok. It seems the Greasemonkey script "Reddit- My Andy Ponies" has a spinning text script for hrefs that contain -spin.

If anyone else is using it and doesn't want any unusual effects to happen to their text and just want the icons to show, then comment out lines 2102 to 2394.

Actually I think what would happen if I made it to the front page is that I wake up in a tub of ooze, with a long hose down my throat. I keep gasping for air, so I pull the tube out and sit up. Then a robot comes up and grabs me by the throat and releases a clamp in the back of my head, before throwing me back into the ooze. The tub opens up, and I go on a slip and slide adventure to a giant pool, where my body is supposed to decompose, and become food for other people. Instead Morphous shows up and saves my life.

But the only way that could ever happen is if Reddit was actually the Matrix, and I'm Neo. Somehow I have a hard time believing that. Prove me wrong.

It's a good thing that kid didn't get dragged into the hoop by the crushing vacuum that was being generated from such a high intensity rotation.
