Good news is some folks have a fetish where they eat that shit. This world is fucking strange.

Baby Foot. It's a Japanese (or Chinese...) product that makes your skin peel.

It's not often i'm this deep into this subreddit, but I had this happen to me before. When I was in the second grade, all my skin shed/peeled. When I say all, I mean ALL of it. under arms, pits, ass crack, taint, everything. Scalded skin syndrome is to blame. It was kind of fascinating seeing my skin just peel away, but god damn was it painful.

What was the skin underneath like? I know under scabs/burns it's pink/red, very sensitive and thin skin. Was it just "new skin" like that? Or somehow open wound or similar?

Did it peel from places like your face? How long did it take to all happen? Has anything happened since?

[–]derpa_derp 1 point2 points ago

From what I remember the skin was very tender to the touch, red/pink in color and very warm. Very similar to the skin that is fresh under a scab. The new skin was also very sensitive to touch, making it very painful at times. A cream was used to treat the "new skin." My mom would rub me down every morning/night with a special lotion from the doc. I'm not sure if it was to deal with the pain or the skin condition. If the old skin was peeled away too soon, it was incredible painful.

The skin peeled away from every place on my body. It didnt happen all at once. I took place over the course of two - three weeks. I didn't go to school at all during that time (which nearly caused me to be held back a grade). It started with a rash on my back and progressed from there.

I distinctly remember one day when I raised both my arms, and it looked like I had spider webs hanging from there because of the skin had peeled away. shudder Still weird remembering what that was like.

Nothing has really happened since then. Although I do burn under the sun fairly easily. But I attribute that to my fair skin and gingerness. : )

How strange, how bizarre! (Bill Murray)

[–]effinmike12 2 points3 points ago

I went through that as a result of kawasaki disease. I barely remember being sick, but I can remember, after I felt better, that my skin peeled in large pieces.

Here is a link http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_disease#section_7

I was left with a heart murmur. Other than that, I'm fine.

[–]Billy_Blaze 2 points3 points ago

That... Looks immensely satisfying to remove.

[–]Bigman6693 1 point2 points ago

I'm not sure exactly what this is but there are a whole list of skin disorders under the term ichthyosis that have to do with keratin not shedding normally. Although it wouldn't normally look like that on the bottom of the foot.

One of the more brilliant captions I've seen in a while.

[–]YeahSureBuddy 1 point2 points ago

(I know other people can do this.) I get callouses from lifting, but after stopping for 3 weeks i can peal them and then after another week my skin returns to being soft.

[–]Mona_Lisa_Smile 1 point2 points ago

Salty.
