Looks like the clutch disengaged at the beginning and he reved up the engine to see if it'll go. It did.

I think that is close.

Looks like the person didn't know how to drive stick. They stalled once which is why you see the car jerk/pop. Then when they restarted the car they revved high and dropped the clutch so as to not stall but the car launched forward with the wheel already turned in and the driver shit a brick and not only didn't know to push the clutch back in and brake but couldn't turn the wheel straight in time.

Looks to me like s/he stalled (the shudder at first), and then tried to overcompensate by dumping the clutch with higher revs, only to realize the wheel was still turned and s/he didn't have very good reflexes.

Pretty easy to do it on purpose if you don't have any preservation instinct for your car.
