I liked Masters; she was so much better than the one who isn't Park we have now.

[–]Door_Knob 59 points60 points ago

What happened to Masters? I forgot how they got rid of her

[–]pyrojeff 67 points68 points ago

I think House just drove her crazy so she left.

I remember reading they wanted to keep her on the show, but she had another project coming up.

[–]TheVapourRub 76 points77 points ago

House made her doubt and go against her strict moral values, which made her leave his team

[–]pyrojeff 17 points18 points ago

Ah, thank you. It's been too long

[–]DiabloIIIII 1 point2 points ago

-We Know

PVHS 2004

[–]sophisting 4 points5 points ago

Is the actress still dating David Cross?

[–]chucknorrisismyson 1 point2 points ago

Amber Tamblyn

[–]hustlermmxi 23 points24 points ago

anyone unwilling to join House's team is already insane

[–]TuneRaider 2 points3 points ago

Unhousebroken?

No, I didn't think so...

[–]93829020 9 points10 points ago

They could have played the realism edge and have House's medical license revoked, sued for malpractice, brought up on criminal charges, and actually kept in prison to be shanked by his cellmate when he pulls his shit.

[–]karanj 3 points4 points ago

House/Oz cross-over?

[–]glglglglgl 9 points10 points ago

Hoz.

[–]3lementaru 6 points7 points ago

Ouze.

[–]Tesseraktion 3 points4 points ago

That's how Chase always says it anyways.

[–]canada432 7 points8 points ago

She was just a student. House offered her an internship on her last episode and she declined because she couldn't deal with lying.

[–]psulli 6 points7 points ago

I like to pretend that Park goes from Kenneth's forbidden love as an intern to a medical prodigy in the obvious syncretic universe that House and 30 Rock are cohabitating.

[–]unladenswallow 6 points7 points ago

funfact: Adams (whom i assume you're talking about) is played by the same woman who voiced Amata in Fallout 3

[–]BasqueInGlory 3 points4 points ago

Oh god my fucking mind

[–]BlackZeppelin 9 points10 points ago

I hated Masters because of her goody goody, naive personality. The actress was great because she did the role fantastically. Park is cool too, she isn't a character we've ever really seen on house. Adams is boring because she's a cross between Cameron and 13. She's sort of just filling that generic "hot girl" role. Taub is funny and Chase is awesome plus they're veterans so they still entertain.

[–]bryntheskits 1 point2 points ago

Man Taub is a vet? I guess he is now, I remember nearly stopping watching when the old team left, but I stayed because it was very interesting to see how the new team would develop.

[–]Magrippinho 19 points20 points ago

Definitely not hotter though.

And I like Park too! It's about time they got a relatively crappy doctor in the team, sometimes she's so bad it's hilarious.

[–]TheVapourRub 25 points26 points ago

I like the current cast as it is. Park brings the awkwardness that Masters brought, and Adams reminds me of Cameron

[–]Chicago31 27 points28 points ago

Ehh I'm not fan of the current team. Chase and Taub are fine but the others annoy me. Adams is fine but just a poor man's Cameron with none of the Cameron that I fell in love with. Park is just awful. I wasn't a fan of Masters though either so that may be it.

[–]Haragorn 51 points52 points ago

I miss Kutner.

[–]R59 15 points16 points ago

Never forget.

[–]tsjb 7 points8 points ago

I agree, I completely forgot that Masters even existed before seeing this picture and I assume I will do the same once Park leaves. For me they are worse than bad, they are forgettable.

[–]faceintheblue 10 points11 points ago

Isn't this the last season? I imagine we'll have Park until the end at this point.

[–]ranjoyous 1 point2 points ago

yeah..they are getting Olivia Wilde and Amber Tamblyn back for the finale..its titled "Everybody Dies"..

[–]Atomicpaperclip 2 points3 points ago

I like Park because she has personality. Same with Chase. Taub has personality but he's boring. Adams doesn't really have much personality. She's like the naive liberal filler.

Still miss Cuddy

[–]Ali_Tarpati 1 point2 points ago

[–]Stranghill 2 points3 points ago

I'm pretty sure Taub is still immensely worse at, like, everything than Park is.

[–]nagaina 4 points5 points ago

Whatshername is the most boring hot female I've ever seen on TV.

[–]JTFR 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, that new woman is very generic. She's not even jaw-dropping pretty.

[–]SixNineteen 26 points27 points ago

Yes she is.

[–]ansile 14 points15 points ago

Because that's the only purpose any woman should ever serve on a show.

[–]goofball_jones 718 points719 points ago

I remember that episode. That was one where they had a patient and they started treating him for one thing, and it seemed to work at first, but then it got worse. Then right when he was about to die, House figured out that it was something else, and he walked in and gave the patient an aspirin or something simple, and then everything was fine...all the while making wisecracks in between being a sociopathic jerk.

[–]Jamf 292 points293 points ago

We watch this on DVR. If it's not after 51:00, the diagnosis isn't right yet.

[–]gwillen 168 points169 points ago

This also works with crime shows and perpetrators.

[–]Vilvos 90 points91 points ago

And every other plotted show that needs to keep you around for commercials.

[–]JCelsius 72 points73 points ago

Star Trek TNG: Opens with everything calm then a couple minutes in something fucked up happens. Opening credits. Everyone talks about the fucked up thing. Fucked up thing causes more fucked upedness. Try something. Nope. Talk about it some more. Finally near the end someone suddenly figures it out and saves the day. End the show with characters coming to terms with what just happened. End credits.

And TNG was still fucking awesome. Except for that clip show at the end of season 2. Fuck that episode.

[–]psulli 24 points25 points ago

You forgot the early wildcard of The Interstitial Whoopi.

[–]JCelsius 12 points13 points ago

You know, I loved her as Guinan. She was a source of counsel that wasn't Troi who, despite a couple things going for her, was one of my least favorite characters.

[–]zelmerszoetrop 15 points16 points ago

a couple things going for her

heh (NSFW)

[–]dejaWoot 9 points10 points ago

Hey look, breasts! And they're on the internet!

[–]JCelsius 2 points3 points ago

This guy knows what I'm talkin' bout.

[–]Phoequinox 3 points4 points ago

Submitted for your approval of the Midnight Society, I call this story. . . The Tale Of The Interstitial Whoopi.

[–]deeni 1 point2 points ago

are you describing my sex life?

[–]yxnstat 4 points5 points ago

You pretty much described dramatic structure in general: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, dénouement.

[–]BernzSed 4 points5 points ago

Remember that one episode of Eureka where two seemingly unrelated things were happening, and kept getting worse throughout the episode. Then Jack used a metaphor to figure out that the two things were connected, so he told Henry and a few other scientists, who realized that if Jack didn't do some dangerous stunt then the thing would destroy the town. So Jack did the dangerous stunt and saved the day at the last minute.

[–]Battlesheep 2 points3 points ago

I like how several episodes feature them getting stuck in something and then burn out the impulse drive trying to muscle their way out. Then they actually take the time to figure out why they're stuck, and apparently, it would have been 100 times easier to get out if they DIDN'T burn out the engines

[–]Omnitographer 1 point2 points ago

Voyager did it best when they burned out the engines over that planet with the tachyon core. A few days for them working on the engines and an entire civilization gets to experience constant earthquakes for thousands of years!

[–]0thell069 2 points3 points ago

this is every show. TNG did it better. remember the one where picard lived an entire life on an alien planet?

[–]JCelsius 1 point2 points ago

True true. I do remember "Inner Light". That was the peak of the show IMO.

[–]_asciimov 1 point2 points ago

Like a balloon... and something bad happens.

[–]UnholyDemigod 1 point2 points ago

In X-Files Mulder would solve it in 5 minutes.

[–]Wondering_Wandering 2 points3 points ago

Except with crime shows, you can usually tell which one is guilty. It's usually the second or third suspect.

[–]atypicaloddity 6 points7 points ago

No, it's the most famous actor with the least important role. A cast of nobodies, and the victim's dad is a B-list Celeb? Gee, I wonder who it could be?

[–]ApeWithACellphone 2 points3 points ago

My friend ruined Bones for me. Unless it's a serial killer/two part episode, it's the first guy to suggest someone else.

[–]Trollfailbot 1 point2 points ago

Not so with the original Law and Order.

[–]abledanger 25 points26 points ago*

I want to make a troll episode of House where the first diagnosis is correct, the patient is cured and the case is closed in 5 minutes. And then it's just dead air until the end of the time slot.

[–]Jamf 12 points13 points ago

Better: 55 minutes of Hugh Laurie playing guitar.

[–]TheAverageRedditUser 3 points4 points ago

Pretty sure Scrubs already did this.

[–]TheOdyssey_ 2 points3 points ago

Nyo hoho!

[–]Slurve 1 point2 points ago

They don't do that every episode?

[–]jdyo 5 points6 points ago

The writers of the show are definitely aware of this and it seems like they try and work in a "alternate" style episode every season or so, those ones are usually pretty interesting. Like there's one that's all from Cuddy's perspective and there's the one where House goes to the mental hospital and goes through rehab there.

[–]squidgy 44 points45 points ago*

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that it's a show about a diagnostician who has to find new and inventive ways to treat a series of horrible and rare conditions, despite being a sociopathic jerk. It's not. It's a show about a sociopathic jerk who has to find new and inventive ways to be a horrible ass to people, despite being a diagnostician.

[–]mamanumnums 1 point2 points ago

Ass cancer.

[–]J_Paul 28 points29 points ago

At least it wasn't lupus. It's never lupus.

[–]sammew 34 points35 points ago

Remember that one time it was lupus? It was crazy!

[–]Digitalol 13 points14 points ago

[–]Gordo778 1 point2 points ago

As a guy with lupus, I can confirm this.

[–]joopytown 13 points14 points ago

This was a joke about how House is formulaic and repetitive. If you liked this joke you might like seeing it again here, here, here, here, here, here, or here.

[–]w1nst0n 1 point2 points ago

I love that face in the fifth panel.

[–]sheikjonez 13 points14 points ago

Just because it's formulaic doesn't make it any less good and entertaining.

[–]crowseldon 5 points6 points ago

Look at the damn Power Rangers for fucks sake. Every damn show had EXACTLY the same irrational template.

Just get the ZORD already!

[–]BlackZeppelin 1 point2 points ago

This season I find myself not caring and not really paying attention to the scenes relating to the patient.

[–]DancesWithDownvotes 14 points15 points ago

Spoiler alert man! ....for...the whole damn series...

[–]Raptor_Captor 3 points4 points ago

And his liver failed.

[–]katacarbix 2 points3 points ago

Isn't that the one with the relationship conflict, too?

[–]Exterus 2 points3 points ago

90% of all scripted television shows has a set story structure, just like House. But sure, give this guy hundreds of upvotes for his not-so-clever sarcastic tirade anyway.

[–]ORIGINAL-Hipster 2 points3 points ago

Can't wait to watch your brilliant show!!

[–]RandyMachoManSavage 15 points16 points ago

I know some people dislike House, but as an avid fan since the start, I'm a little sad to see the show retire after this season.

[–]WhitePostIt 1 point2 points ago

Thanks, was wondering what episode it was too

[–]collinse90 33 points34 points ago

13 is my favorite, Cuddy second. Chase, Cuddy, 13, House, and Taub would be the best line-up IMO.

[–]The-Mathematician 80 points81 points ago

I miss Kutner.

[–]xfo 117 points118 points ago

Obama did it

[–]Ikimasen 57 points58 points ago

And made it LOOK like a suicide!

[–]Padna33 7 points8 points ago

Too soon.

[–]NJ_Lyons 6 points7 points ago

So what happened to him? I saw the episode where he, uhh, left, but was there more to it than that? I didn't see the other episodes following it.

[–]The-Mathematician 15 points16 points ago

He shot himself.

[–]NJ_Lyons 3 points4 points ago

Oh ok. I know he was trying to figure out what happened, but I wasn't sure if he actually committed suicide, or someone framed it.

[–]thus-sung 21 points22 points ago

The actor got a job at the White House, so the suicide plot was a little abrupt. That might've been you got a 'framed it' vibe.

[–]glglglglgl 8 points9 points ago

My first thought was "cool, he'll turn up on The West Wing" and then I realised all the things wrong with that.

[–]BlackZeppelin 1 point2 points ago

I think the "framed it vibe" was from house insisting that entire episode that it was framed.

[–]EmptyAndFrantic 2 points3 points ago

I cried when that happened. I miss him. :/

[–]Chicago31 26 points27 points ago

Original team will always be the best option. When they had original team, Cuddy still on the show, 13, and Taub, was pretty much where the show was at its highest.

[–]WhatamIwaitingfor 5 points6 points ago

This has been bugging me since I stopped watching House three months ago (ran out of Seasons to watch :( ) what was the original girl's name? Allison? Something like that?

[–]Viper_H 18 points19 points ago

Allison Cameron, who married Robert Chase. The black dude was Eric Foreman, they you have Lisa Cuddy, Greg House, Remy Hadley (Thirteen), Amber Volakis (Cut-throat Bitch), Chi Park, Martha Masters, Jessica Adams and the jew dude with the nose.

[–]ThaCarter 22 points23 points ago*

No, No the black one is Mike Tomlin.

[–]Viper_H 21 points22 points ago

Oh crap, I forgot the indian dude, Harold Kumar.

[–]Wadikus 6 points7 points ago

Kumar

FTFY

[–]glglglglgl 2 points3 points ago

I'm now imaging House with the kid from That 70s Show, and vice versa.

ninja edit: cause somehow I've never made the connection with the names before, despite seeing four seasons of House.

[–]WhatamIwaitingfor 1 point2 points ago

Thank you.

[–]citrusfury 1 point2 points ago

I remember the exact moment I began to regard "Remy" as a sexy name.

[–]orangekid13 5 points6 points ago

[–]Haragorn 2 points3 points ago

[–]duvall348 4 points5 points ago

[–]devils0508 10 points11 points ago

Chase is my favorite because he killed that dictator dude. That was so bad ass.

[–]godlessatheist 10 points11 points ago

He told Kony who's boss.

[–]R59 3 points4 points ago

He's also a total dreamboat.

[–]collinse90 2 points3 points ago

Yea, that was one of my favorite episodes.

[–]princess_shami 17 points18 points ago

[–]drunkrabbit22 84 points85 points ago

Pretty sure it's had that name for a while, too.

[–]Kurskovich 10 points11 points ago

But I doubt it knows it's name is almost the same as this redditor's.

[–]watevs44 3 points4 points ago

House being House

[–]wooden_spoon 4 points5 points ago

I know it doesn't matter, but I feel compelled to mention that I just watched this episode before coming to check out reddit. How's that for coincidence.

Not that impressive.

[–]Bestpokemonmaster 19 points20 points ago

Don't downvote me into my grave for asking this, But what show is this?

[–]illgresi 41 points42 points ago

House

[–]Bestpokemonmaster 13 points14 points ago

Alright, thanks. I'll check it out sometime.

[–]thedeepfriar 20 points21 points ago

Start with the early seasons, they were absolutely brilliant.

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]Deep-Thought 5 points6 points ago

I thought House's Head/Wilson's Heart were the best episodes.

[–]RandomRageNet 1 point2 points ago

Those two were great and the peak of the series, but "Three Stories" is by far not only the best episode of House, but one of the best hours of TV ever.

[–]Wadikus 2 points3 points ago

Could not agree more

[–]AlphaEnder 2 points3 points ago

Help Me was...incredible. I remember watching it and just being absolutely stunned.

[–]oblimo_2K12 4 points5 points ago

Lupus.

[–]thatguysammo 3 points4 points ago

the internet has everything :D

[–]pinkgrrl1984 3 points4 points ago

Not funny or edgy.

[–]willkurada 7 points8 points ago

Punchlines and titles shouldn't mix.

[–]bigsol81 2 points3 points ago

The punchline was "Oh, no wait. The Internet has breasts."

That's not in the title.

[–]TaintedSquirrel 2 points3 points ago

Technically it's only half of the punchline...

[–]spy_spy 1 point2 points ago

Could you make this picture smaller for me? I can still read the text...

[–]GRAYDON11 1 point2 points ago

I am ridiculously attracted to that woman!

[–]sinusoidosaurus 1 point2 points ago

How did they pronounce the name on the show? Did House pronounce it "YEW-lers" or "oil-ers"? I'm curious. I think it's pronounced "oilers" but I wouldn't be surprised if the show pronounced it either way.

[–]throawawayaccnt 1 point2 points ago

There is no way in hell even my math professors would know the 20th digit of pi or e or Euler's number without at least counting the digits in their head.

[–]SirHenryMorgan 1 point2 points ago

:TSDR

Too Small Didn't Read.

[–]lantern55 1 point2 points ago

The real question is, Is she on the internet?

[–]kleehammer 1 point2 points ago

[–]un_leche 1 point2 points ago

I stopped watching after the Kal Pen season. Is there any chance Cameron's back in the show now? I was devastated when she left.

And finally do you think I could get some opinions on whether the show is worth watching again? I'm on summer break starting Monday evening and I want to load up on stuff to watch. As I said I've seen up to the end of the Kal Pen season, so if I should start watching again should I start from the beginning or start where I left off?

I know this post is a bit late but I wanted to take the time to say thanks in advance to anyone who can provide their opinions and to those who were kind enough to read my post but did not comment.

[–]clickx 2 points3 points ago*

For those who don't know what Euler's Number is. )

I still don't know what it is.

Edit: I linked incorrectly.

[–]philqw 5 points6 points ago

You linked to an article about Euler Numbers. Euler's Number is something else. So is Eulerian Numbers. Not to mention Euler's Lucky Numbers, which shouldn't be confused with Lucky Numbers. And there's more:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_things_named_after_Leonhard_Euler#Euler.E2.80.94numbers

[–]Qhost 8 points9 points ago*

My life was simple until 13 minutes ago.

[–]Viper_H 4 points5 points ago

I loved Masters. She was flawed, but hot. And a lot better than that Chinese woman we have to put up with now, with her stupid glasses and annoying voice.

House should come back for a Season 9 with Cameron, Thirteen, Masters and Adams as his team. Then all House would need is a fedora with a feather in it, and a diamond top to his cane.

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]Ascythopicism 16 points17 points ago

They should have ended it a few seasons ago. House getting with Cuddy should have never happened.

[–]arachnophilia 2 points3 points ago

wasn't that, like, all in his head though?

[–]NoCommonCents 2 points3 points ago

Yes, and no. He did hallucinate having sex with Cuddy, but in a later season, he actually had a relationship with her.

[–]arachnophilia 2 points3 points ago

oh. must have been the season i missed.

[–]Atomicpaperclip 1 point2 points ago

Lucky. Skip to season 8

[–]Viper_H 1 point2 points ago

I know. The actress who plays her is terrible. She has no range of emotions or mental states, and the character itself is just boring. When they first introduced her I thought she was a joke character because of how bad she was, then she ends up on the main cast?

I know this season is the last one, I'm just thinking about how awesome a 9th season would be with Pimp House and his Ho's.

[–]JCelsius 2 points3 points ago

I thought she was a joke character because of how bad she was

You're not the only one. That character is the reason I stopped watching the show.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points ago

Jesus christ I just read a quick summary of her character. Who the fuck wrote this character? That writer should be smacked in the face with his script.

[–]cyberkt 1 point2 points ago

I forgot Masters was there.

There's too many Park haters. Why do so many people dislike her? =(.

I love watching Park in House. I started watching Charlyne Yi on youtube because of House. She's hilarious!

I hope I am not the only one cheering for Park & Chase!

[–]MuffinBoss 0 points1 point ago

Hey, I was wondering, how do you make these? Like just take pictures of each screen?

[–]Markasaurus23 0 points1 point ago

Did you know House walks with his cane in the wrong hand? True story. Thank you physical therapist assistant school

[–]sadfly 0 points1 point ago

It's funny because Amber Tamblyn is engaged to David Cross (Tobias from AD), who actually tried out for the role of House when they were doing auditions.

[–]Ruisseaux 1 point2 points ago*

I thought that was just a joke from arrested development. David cross really auditioned for house? *Edit- well its on IMDB so it must be true.

[–]troyANDabed 0 points1 point ago

I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of this same image but with smaller text...

[–]robotizer 0 points1 point ago

Had to confirm the Euler's number factoid: confirmed.

[–]Planet-man 0 points1 point ago

It's annoying when shows do these sexy 20-something flustered supergeniuses. I'm one of those walking encyclopedia types in real life, but it just gets ridiculous on TV. It's like that Cracked article - http://www.cracked.com/article_18960_5-things-tv-writers-apparently-believe-about-smart-people.html
