"Coming in for the landing, I saw the flashing lights of the reporters there to welcome us. I clutched my hand-luggage as the tyres touched down, having always been a bit nervous on aeroplanes.

When we finally came to a stop all of the management got up and gathered their belongings, as if this was all just some sort of routine. John and I looked at each other, and he gave that wicked smirk he always gave when he was nervous and excited. "This is it, Paul" he said to me. My only response was to look out the window again, seeing the lights strobe with more and more frequency.

I stared for what seemed like hours, until Ringo grabbed my shoulder and pulled me away. George and John were already out the door as he lead me away. I just focused on putting one foot in front of the other as we deplaned, not wanting to trip and fall for "our big debut", as all the papers were calling it. Finally, as I reach the last step, I stopped and looked at all the reporters in front of us. How many were there?

Someone, I don't know who, lead me up onto the stage they had constructed just for us. We stood together in front of the microphones. John looked eager to start, while George and Ringo seemed comfortable in the back, soaking it all in with growing smiles. This was it. We were finally in America."
