Two things

Its not bedrock that you see. The bedrock is covered in cement to stop water from dripping down.
The bedrock in scandinavia is actually trying to go up, not down. The beadrock is still recovering from all the pressure of the miles of ice from the last iceage that it had to withstand. This upward motion makes it actually quite easy to dig underground. That is why underground building is popular over here. I think Helsinki is the first city to have a underground building zone plan in effect.

Almost all of the stations on the Blue Line got "natural bedrock" ceilings (it's actually a quite a thick layer of cement over the actual bedrock, but it's a cool effect nevertheless)

Even if it pains me to say it (as a true Red Liner) the Blue Line has the most beautiful artwork of the entire subway system. I like Kungsträdgården and Rådmansgatan the best, because of their post-apocalyptical feeling
