None of my friends are into Portal. I've completed Portal 2 single-player campaign TWICE (I was bored), but co-op campaign is still at 0% :(

I don't mind playing with strangers, but Steam is never able to find someone to pair up with when I ask it find someone for me >_>

Right on -- you really should go out of your way to experience it though. Playing through it with a buddy of mine was one of the best gaming experiences I've had in the past few years.

For those of us who were, technologically impaired people are emotionally destructive to be around. We have a system. It's an awesome system too. Everything works in our heads, and makes total sense, so when someone doesn't get something that is pretty well a paradigm of every day life for you, yeah they're gonna lose patience.

Is it because maybe you just want to hang out with that person and have a good time? If that's the case, why not focus less on winning and more on teaching, relaxing, and learning together? As Portal Co-op goes I'd recommend (smoke & drink & smoke & snack & lol I can grab your head & what are we doing? & right the puzzle & smoke). Tends to put both on equal footing.

Good point in most cases but in Portal 2 the co-op campaign is completely separate from the single-player game - in other words, you literally can't play the levels in the co-op game without another player.

Well I last played with a friend who is a pretty major gamer now, but he didn't grow up with it like I did. I often had to explain why my idea was a good one because thinking outside the box to solve puzzles comes very naturally for me by comparison to him, and that can become frustrating.

I couldn't get my wife to play Portal 1 or 2 in single player, but eventually I convinced her to play the Co-Op with me. We barely fought and had loads of fun, zooming through levels like crazy. And then we ran out of test chambers.

Has she even played Portal before? If not, let her at least play through Portal 1 and 2 single players. Otherwise yes, it would be hard for her to figure out how to utilize portals. It's cool to play co-op games with your SO but games such as this can get frustrating if you both don't have similar amount of knowledge about it.

I recall playing L4D2 with the GF, my mate and his GF. Initially, it was like herding sheep, but soon afterwards his girlfriend gave up, but mine became awesome and now we play L4D2, but she won't play Portal :-(

Protip if I may. Regardless of what the truth may be, you will rarely have anything to gain by claiming credit for being the one to solve puzzles in portal 2. The person you played with won't like it, and you come off as someone who feels they are superior, even if it is the honest truth.

Personally, I appreciate it as a game my friend and I managed to play and complete together cooperatively without being upset at any point with one another.
