I hope they do have kids. I hope those kids grow up to be great people, and work hard to receive scholarships. They will blast through higher education, collecting degrees and accolades, finding true love and great joy in their lives. Their marriages will not be perfect, but they will be based on mutual love and respect, and beautiful grandchildren will come soon, bringing hope for the future with them. She will hold her first grandchild in her arms, and feel nothing but the tremendous love that two generations can produce for one single entity. She will spoil the child and offer wisdom - don't eat too fast, be kind to your people and animals, don't stick a fork in the wall outlet.

Then, in a single phone call, this world of familial happiness falls to pieces with a single sentence - "Little Billy was electrocuted, he stuck a fork in the outlet." And Grandma will cry, "Oh, god, why? I told him not to!" And, weeping the bitter tears that only a grieving parent can conjure, her child will say, "I told him to ignore everything you say, because you believe in planetary alignment."

They all will have learned a valuable lesson, but that will never replace the despair.
