Given the level of inner city depravity in the rest of the show, Arnolds room was like architectural and interior decor mecca for a kid. I understand the adult conceptions of summertime HVAC issues, and the bird poop issues, but lets face it, I was a kid. All I imagined was looking at the stars at night, and being able to go on the roof for solitude.

Besides, heating problems were featured in episodes constantly. I just overthought this childrens show, didn't I.

I may have been too neurotic an paranoid as a child but I never wanted this room. I always wondered about this: Doug lives in an urban area of a larger city? Hell no I don't want a window like this! There could be drunks and drug addicts climbing over the window staring into my bedroom. I also never have lived in an airconditioned building. Seeing this room instantly makes me sweat. The heat build-up must be immense even with an AC. Also, are my parents going to make me clean the windows? Think of all the bird shit you have to scrape of regularly in order to keep it that way. No, no no.

My Dad had a room like that in his house and I convinced him to let me make it my bedroom. It basically turned into OH MY GOD I CAN BARELY SEE MY TV AND I THINK IM SUFFOCATING ITS SO HOT. I felt cool though, which is the only thing that mattered.
