Space Shuttle cockpit

As an electrical engineer who frequently upgrades control systems that stem from the 60's, 70's, 80's I am not the least bit upset that the Shuttle's are retired. The technological advancements in replacing a system 20+ years old are outstanding. However, the customer (government) just needs to be willing to purchase anew (COTS + CCDev).
