Watch English football, crowds go mad at players who dive, even those on their own side! European teams (esp italian) seem to be the best divers and actually its an accepted part of the game.

Yeah, damn snipers.

I'm pretty sure in this case it looks like he hurt his knee, rather than trying to draw a foul call he was merely writhing in pain from a hyper extended knee or something.

You probably shouldn't watch any sports then. This happens in every single professional sport and it's just part of the game. Players in the NBA flop all the time in order to get the charging play and just last year there were tons of instances where NFL players were flopping all over the place. I don't see what it would ruin soccer for you, it happens everywhere.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. Flopping with obviously no contact is pretty rare in most sports. At least with charging, there is contact. Except for one silly play last year, I don't see this in the NFL at all. There is some clock management bullshit that goes on with injuries but nothing like the flagrant bullshit in soccer. Show me an example in the NHL for instance.

Just because it's my favorite dive in hockey history

There was contact, but it's truly a wonderful dive

Contact... your honor, the prosecution rests.

Indeed there was contact, not denying that, I just enjoy that dive because Sean Avery

How is football players faking injuries to run out the clock any different than flopping? Also, I don't know what NBA you are watching but flopping takes place in just about every game in the NBA. It happens a lot so I don't know what you are watching there. It's an excepted part of the game and apparently it doesn't ruin football or basketball for you so I see no reason why it ruins soccer. You act as if it happens every game in soccer.

If it happens in every game, show me a video where a guy with no contact, just falls to the ground screaming in agony.

I can't remember a game of soccer where this didn't happen at least once. Sometimes with the added bullshit drama of being carried off on a stretcher, only to pop up ready to play 5 seconds later.

Football is not the same. Milking the clock between plays is stupid but not the same as interrupting play.

Also, accepted*

I hate it when players flop in golf also.

[–]MasterCostanza 2 points3 points ago

Implying golf is a real sport.
