Religious people start making out when they first come to reddit?

[–]Saarrex[S] 15 points16 points ago

Insert RPG joke here

[–]redjim 1 point2 points ago

I don't see what the ridiculously photogenic guy has to to with this...

[–]Dryerlint 4 points5 points ago

Have you seen ridiculously photogenic guy?

[–]dhaft88 -1 points0 points ago

He's very talented at taking pictures.

[–]HappyDays7 3 points4 points ago

I'll start making out when I go just about anywhere as long as I can find someone willing enough.

[–]AgentFlynn 1 point2 points ago

I know I did. Though I was alone, so it was kind of weird.

[–]czarchastic 0 points1 point ago

My thoughts, too. And the passionate homosexuality represented r/athiesm.

[–]mcon87 13 points14 points ago

Anyone actually know the origin of this? I've seen it about 476591747 times, but I've never known the context.

[–]iamanooj 10 points11 points ago

It was a baseball game, and the two guys on the right were on the cam, scared guy did not go with it.

[–]Ruskin 6 points7 points ago*

Fun fact - All 3 of them are redditors.

[–]HappyDays7 1 point2 points ago

I'm not sure why it bothers me so much, perhaps because I've seen it so much recently, but isn't the spelling with an 'o?' Redditor?

[–]Ruskin 2 points3 points ago*

I had it with an O, but then it didn't look right, so I changed it.

But anyways made it redditor now.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

On that note, I believe reddit is intentionally lower case, as well as redditor.

[–]Gorgoz 0 points1 point ago

so trendy, just like blogger

[–]WizTroll 6 points7 points ago

Dang you! I'm reading this on my phone and I accidentally called that poor soul! But alas, I do not know where this is from, I'm sure someone will know though :D

[–]julianf0918 42 points43 points ago

Agreed, plus I've even been upvoted for some pretty religious stuff on here before. There's gotta be some of us out there!

[–]Saarrex[S] 31 points32 points ago

Hey, being open-minded is something both sides could use.

I love your username and look forward to seeing more of it.

[–]Xam229 0 points1 point ago

What did it say and what was the user name!?

[–]analcarbomb 0 points1 point ago

Hell, I can't remember.

[–]Xam229 0 points1 point ago

Well damn :/ I'll never know...

[–]lookcloserlenny 10 points11 points ago

I think most people would be surprised to find out that, statistically, its a good chance that there are more religious redditors than atheist redditors. I unsubscribed from r/atheism a while back and the only time I ever even see religion being brought up is on posts like these where religious people on reddit complain about being harassed.

[–]julianf0918 3 points4 points ago*

I'm not sure I'd say I was complaining, more just trying to represent my demographic. Even outside of Reddit though, the majority of people around will say they're Christians, but that doesn't necessarily mean they really are Christians. Just because you unsubscribe from r/atheism, that only means you don't want to hear the ramblings of someone who doesn't believe in a spiritual entity out there.

I agree with your conjecture about the statistics of demographics, but just because there are statistics only...

(Edit-Its hard to spell correctly from my phone)

[–]julianf0918 0 points1 point ago

(prematurely submitted) ... Means that there are some numbers out there, the significance of those numbers is something completely different.

[–]DrDWayneLove 0 points1 point ago

I actually think it's more atheists who don't come from areas in which they are the minority who think that /r/atheism is full of whingers. I find these people a hell of a lot more common and annoying than the kind of atheists reddit is famous for.

[–]thehollowman84 -4 points-3 points ago

Same, everyone should unsubscribe from r/atheism.

[–]RandomWeirdShit 38 points39 points ago

I am religious, I haven't been here long, (I don't plan on going anywhere) but I have lurked on the interent long enough to be the guy on the right.

[–]emeraldboy 8 points9 points ago

I'm intrigued no one has offered to be the guy on the left.

[–]jalpotato 10 points11 points ago

I offer to be the guy on the left.

[–]BlueNotesBlues 13 points14 points ago

[–]jalpotato 0 points1 point ago

So long as the "shit" part of RandomWeirdShit isn't feces, all in ...

[–]H5Mind 1 point2 points ago

Finally! A free right hand...

[–]Willyjwade 1 point2 points ago

I'll be the guy in the middle just sitting there trying to figure out wtf just happened.

[–]jalpotato 0 points1 point ago

Excellent.

[–]RandomWeirdShit 0 points1 point ago

If my friend had a reddit account she would she's always doing crazy shit like that.

[–]nmulcahey -1 points0 points ago

No you aren't, the guy on the right is a redditor and I have lurked the internet long enough to know which one.

[–]RandomWeirdShit 0 points1 point ago

... By saying I was the guy on the right, I was saying that nothing on reddit bothers me.

[–]Syn7axError 2 points3 points ago

That kiss always looked disgusting to me... Not because it's gay or anything, but because that guy is still chewing his food.

[–]Spants23 8 points9 points ago

How many times will this be posted?.....HOW MANY TIMES?!?

[–]jalpotato -2 points-1 points ago

The same goes for your comment.

[–]Karmadoodle -1 points0 points ago

Never again

[–]StevenXC 29 points30 points ago

... why should religious people feel like that on Reddit? You don't actually know any religious people who aren't on TV, do you?

[–]Saarrex[S] 9 points10 points ago

Don't take this literally, it's nothing, but a joke.

[–]Dandarya 4 points5 points ago

you wouldnt download a bible

[–]Adonej 10 points11 points ago

... i find this a tad inaccurate... im fairly religious, but i'll laugh at just about anything. even this haha.

[–]ElectronicTiger 11 points12 points ago

This is actually exactly how I feel being a religous person on reddit. I am completely surrounded by atheists who, frankly, dont know what they are talking about whn they put down christianity.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points ago

And that's why you're allowed to unsubscribe from /r/atheism, like myself and many, many others have.

[–]skammy16 3 points4 points ago

why would tiger be subscribed to that in the first place, if he/she's religious?

i think he/she's pointing out that they put down Christianity as soon as they see it mentioned on ANY sub.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points ago

Everyone is subscribed to atheism by default. A huge mistake if you ask me.

[–]mmine1 1 point2 points ago

It has hurt the subreddit more than it helped, unfortunately.

[–]erythro 0 points1 point ago

yeah the quality of the content really took a nosedive after that

/s

[–]Gorgoz 0 points1 point ago

Really? I thought it just showed up at the top, that you weren't subscribed to anything automatically. And to be fair /r/atheism got really popular, and then it was added to the top, not the other way around.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Either way I think it's a really bad idea to subscribe someone automatically to a subreddit that is on one side of a very divisive and polarizing issue. Before I figured out how to edit my subscriptions and whatnot I almost stopped using this site because of the hateful things that came out of there.

[–]skammy16 0 points1 point ago

really? um yeah can you imagine the outrage if everyone was subscribed to /r/christianity by default?

pushing the lack of religion is exactly the same as pushing a religion. it's annoying from both sides.

[–]DrDWayneLove 1 point2 points ago

I've never seen religion put down in any sub other than r/atheism. People rush to mock /r/atheism and its users all over the place though.

[–]skammy16 0 points1 point ago

you haven't been to many subs then. it's usually when someone mentions that they happen to be rreligious. i mentioned it once and someone called me "brainwashed", and i've never been on /r/atheism.

[–]Gorgoz 0 points1 point ago

You probably weren't around when /r/atheism hit 1 million subscribers, after it became the new circlejerk it went all the way back down to 600k...

[–]mmine1 2 points3 points ago*

Sometimes we do, actually. There are some atheists (I cannot speak for all of us, including me, as I am currently reading the bible) who actually do know what they're talking about, can give you a fair argument, and won't stoop to ad hoc or the "No true scotsman" fallacy. I'm an atheist, primarily due to the fact of very little evidence supporting it, and I cannot associate myself with a group of people masked with ignorance toward many scientific facts or use religion as an excuse for bigotry.

[–]minedom 2 points3 points ago

I cannot associate myself with a group of people masked with ignorance toward many scientific facts or use religion as an excuse for bigotry.

You do realize that not all of us are like that, right? And besides that, bigotry comes from atheists a lot as well. As far as the ignorance thing, I think you should really look at the broader picture of Christianity. You'd be surprised how many religious people have no issue accepting science and evolution. May I recommend The Language of God by Francis Collins, the leader of the Human Genome Project.

[–]mmine1 0 points1 point ago

I do know that in the broader sense, and I agree bigotry can come from atheism (however not quite as much, at least to my knowledge) and thank you for recommending the book to me. I will try to take a look at it as it sounds interesting.

[–]minedom 0 points1 point ago

(however not quite as much, at least to my knowledge)

Well to be honest, there arent nearly as many of them :P

[–]bigred300 6 points7 points ago

being a christian i kind of feel that way on reddit

[–]Icovada 16 points17 points ago

Did you know you can actually unsubscribe from /r/atheism? Helps a lot.

[–]HappyDays7 2 points3 points ago

It fucking does. And then once you've unsubbed from /r/AdviceAnimals because they talk about /r/atheism so much, life is just a smooth sea of bliss.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points ago

Then once you unsubscribe from all of the default subreddits where they talk about talking about /r/atheism, everything is even better.

[–]epic_comebacks 0 points1 point ago

Fuck /r/atheism.

I got them good the other day though. Will post result soon.

[–]oughton42 6 points7 points ago

/r/Christianity. It's one of the nicest places on Reddit for theists and atheists.

[–]GrizzlyAdams90 3 points4 points ago

it's like the canada of reddit.

[–]mmine1 0 points1 point ago

Actually, do they still allow the discussion of atheism there? I mean, I heard they changed their discussion rules, so are we still allowed?

[–]Fat_Alberta 1 point2 points ago

You'd have to consult the rules to figure that out. It's not that they're kicking out anyone who isn't a Christian -- just that they're trying to stem the recent influx of insensitive trolls. You're free to browse and comment and ask questions, but it's important to make the distinction between asking a question for clarification/explanation and asking a question that will inevitably lead to a bitter conflict between the opposing parties.

[–]mmine1 0 points1 point ago

Alright. I just wanted to know. I did, actually, make a post asking their views on homosexuality, and it appears that they are very friendly toward it. I will definitely give it a chance, and thank you for clearing my misconception up for me.

[–]Fat_Alberta 0 points1 point ago

Not a problem, friend. I'm glad to be of service :)

[–]Scrimpslol 2 points3 points ago

I dont feel that way at all. I just love everyone. Maybe it's from too much /r/trees.

[–]GreatGrate 0 points1 point ago

I know the feel. I often find that the vast majority of atheists are just as misinformed as the vast majority of Christians are. Also pisses me off when things strictly related to science go on /r/atheism. Seriously?

[–]ATPthe2nd 1 point2 points ago

how are they misinformed? i am a member of /r/atheism, but i'm not defending it, i just want to know why you think that. btw i do see a lot of science things that don't have to do with atheism on there.

[–]GreatGrate 1 point2 points ago

Just to clarify, I wasn't calling /r/atheism members misinformed, I'm talking about atheists in general. In response to your question, I often find that they like to categorize all Christians as bible-banging, misinformed, ignorant, and condescending. Personally, as a religious person who is pursing a career in science and believes in pro choice and gay rights, it really just sucks to see people think that way of me just because I happen to share a similar belief system as Christians that actually are bible-banging, misinformed, ignorant, and condescending. With that being said, not all atheists do this but enough do. Once again, not saying you fall under this category and thank you for recognizing the off-subject posts about science. I'm glad to hear it.

[–]TheNotSneakyNinja 3 points4 points ago

[–]xdeadnotsleepingx -1 points0 points ago

Huh, I always thought it was Josh Thomas.

Sticks fingers and ears and screams IT IS JOSH THOMAS IT MUST BE HE'S SUCH A DREAMBOAT

[–]smguy101 2 points3 points ago

You must not know a lot of religious internet users.

[–]gt_rjs 1 point2 points ago

Disagree, but here's an upvote for the effort.

[–]Eizooz 1 point2 points ago

Well of course because every "religious person" on reddit is a homophobe i forgot bout that..

[–]slickman9696 1 point2 points ago

Yea, pretty religious and I am on here all the time. Kiss away!

[–]mmine1 1 point2 points ago

Okay then

[–]Gorgoz 0 points1 point ago

I really hate the way it cuts off the p

[–]newtronism 4 points5 points ago

[–]Tm0 3 points4 points ago

Can we let this Gif die please?

[–]apollo84 0 points1 point ago

not really, it's the internet, nothing surprises me on the internet.

[–]peaceforpalestine 0 points1 point ago

How I feel all the time

[–]jawzee23 0 points1 point ago

This is the most hilarious thing I've seen all day.

[–]ShawnDawn 0 points1 point ago

What's the story behind this?

[–]skammy16 0 points1 point ago

really? i think you need to show your work.

[–]channelside 0 points1 point ago

that can't be accurate, no one was yelling at the bearded guy and showing him facebook posts and macros

[–]MoldyBreadCheese 0 points1 point ago

I like that even after the guy on the left stopped, the guy on the right pulled him back for more.

[–]DoctorDbx 0 points1 point ago

Is that the what someone looks like when they're overwhelmed by annoyingly smug teenage keyboard warriors who think they're somehow superior intellectuals because they believe in nothing, have achieved nothing and have finished nothing... but love to sit on an internet forum all day circle-jerking about their atheist superiority whilst the rest of us are just out there getting shit done?

[–]SamSoBuff1215 0 points1 point ago

As a Christian and a soon-to-be 5-year redditor, I have never felt any kind of fear or segregation in the community. The reason I've been on reddit for as long as I have is for the intelligence and respect that I (mostly) see on here. Either way, this gif made me laugh so upvote!

[–]townsleyc 0 points1 point ago

More like how I feel seeing another fucking repost get to the front page

[–]Cheyham93 0 points1 point ago

That's fucking awesome lol.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Hahahaha, that was so true when I first came here!

[–]Scorcho25 0 points1 point ago

I didn't look at the title and almost pissed myself. That guy's face is hilarious

[–]SuffoKate 0 points1 point ago

The guy in the middle went for it first with the guy on the right but was outplayed, unlucky fella.

[–]FruitBox 0 points1 point ago

Not at all.

[–]Lynch117 0 points1 point ago

If mu Jesus freak stepmother found out what Reddit is, and that I am on it, regardless of what age I am, her head would explode.

[–]wavesmachine 0 points1 point ago

which one is the religious person.

[–]dissapointedorikface 0 points1 point ago

The one that looks confused.

[–]luigikiller1000 0 points1 point ago

Is that Bobby singer

[–]brainmunchingzombie 0 points1 point ago

your repost is bad, and you should feel bad

[–]ferncaz95 0 points1 point ago

I'm catholic and I fucking loved it here from day 1. Believe it or not I am slightly left and an open-minded person _^

[–]RykezOne 0 points1 point ago

Would be sooooo fucking epic if there would be a text when it makes short breaks because of zooming: WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON

[–]klassic_alice 0 points1 point ago

I'm super sorry for being a dick, but I've seen this .gif far too many times on r/funny.

[–]Saarrex[S] -3 points-2 points ago

Nothing is new under the Moon :)

[–]thedutchrapist 0 points1 point ago

I scared the hell out of my dog laughing my ass off at this gif.

[–]The_Dirt_McGurt -3 points-2 points ago

Shouldn't they be jerking each other off instead?

[–]Gorgoz 1 point2 points ago

Don't worry, I got it.

[–]Zequez -1 points0 points ago

I always wondered if the guy in the middle is Notch.

[–]Lukers_RCA -1 points0 points ago

Are you saying this for personal experience? Or just being a stereotypical prick for the fun of it?

[–]DiddlyDooDiddle -2 points-1 points ago

i don't. You liberals are just as mad as your average conservative is, but at least you have lolcats
