[–]red_eyes 2 points3 points ago

incorrect.

in rugby, it's illegal to run/hide behind your teammates like a little bitch..

How dare you be smart with your play. You must be a pussy.

[–]red_eyes 1 point2 points ago

I agree, given the rules of football, that he was smart with his play.

However, the rules of football are created such that a smart play is considered one where you may indeed run towards the sidelines or your endzone.

In rugby, you put down your shoulder and barrel into the opposition full force, passing off the ball as you go into contact, removing that opposing player from action while allowing the ball to continue forward motion.

And there is little to no padding, which makes it that much more badass, and more fun to play.

[–]Acid-Trip 0 points1 point ago

Actually, it's proven that a football hit, even with padding is harder and more painful than a rugby hit, without pads.

are you retarded

[–]red_eyes 1 point2 points ago

no. i was pointing out to OP that this is nothing like a rugby game.

Yes, the play did last longer than 4 seconds. But no, in rugby you do not avoid the opposition by running to safety behind your teammates.

Pretty much sums up the Vols' season this year.
